TWAU or TWD ?
This has probably been asked a lot already, but I'll still give it a try. TWAU series or TWD season 2 ? You can compare any aspects of these games you want.

I like them both, but the subject matter and style of TWAU appeals to me more. I like film noir, I like stylised colour palettes, I like mystery stories and I like urban fantasy.
It's not really a fair comparison between those two. Not only because TWD already had a first season, but also because they are both different genres. One it's set in a post-apocalyptic world that is meant to evoke certain feelings in the player, while the other it's more of an action based game with noir elements to it. Not really the best description, I know.
I personally enjoy both in equal measure. But if I were to compare the episodes it will go something like this: TWAU ep 1> TWD ep 1, TWAU ep 2<TWD ep 2. Since ep 3 of TWD is not out yet, it's a tie. Then again, it all comes down to what genre you enjoy more.
This is kind of like comparing apples and oranges. TWUA and TWD season 2 are both equally great.
Twau
TWAU. I enjoy the genre more. I prefer noir to zombie horror. I've also read both comics, and I prefer the Fables universe by far. I stopped reading The Walking Dead after a while, but Fables is a series that I haven't put down ever since I started it.
I also enjoyed TWD season one more than season two. So far, season two just isn't the same.
I second this.
IMO, the disadvantage of TWAU is, that they're using a lot of canon characters to keep in track with the comics.
TWD however, with a few comeos... Most of their characters are new ones to have their fates messed around with..
including by death.
When someone we know still lives in the future was killed, it was obvious that was not true unless its standalone from the comics.
I can sit through the wolf without getting depressed, so that's a huge advantage.
The walking dead. Why? Just one word: Clementine.
