That's one of the only problems I had with Episode 2. It took me out of it for a moment. I was like "Uhh...What?" when Clem said that she knows how to shut it down.
Well yeah, that might be why it went wrong, those I am around are very new, I help deliver them and they are very high tec, maybe not many companys invest in those.
Yeah I had to even look it up, the average ones give out 100 db from the turbine (like a chainsaw) and at 350m it's around 40 db (desktop work noice), and I have been straight under the ones we build, nothing but a breeze.
But yeah I see your point, I must have thought since someone is cutting the grass, someone must be repairing the wind turbines.
The ones on country side, the wings we deliver are around 57m long each.
Yeah they have the possibility to just strike out during storms, that is if their failswitch doesn't go on, they are only meant to work at about 25 m/s if it blows over that the turbine brakes itself to prevent more damage.
But I have seen videos of them going so out of control they just break off at the top and the propellers comes falling down to the ground.
You work around wind turbines? The basic ones you can get out buildings or those real huge ones you see in the country side? I did hear in t… morehe news once about one going so fast in some really strong winds it caught fire, but i don't know if that's the same thing.
The ones I have seen have it like that, to make it easy during repairs and if there's accidents. and yes, I am quite sure nuclear reactors use the same principle cause of if there is an accident, pretty much anyone should be able to do it.
Is that actually how you turn a wind turbine off? Simple key in the shutoff thingy? I get the impression that a nuclear reactor could work like that as well, but I'm not sure if that's just a pop culture idea or correct.
To be honest I don't think it takes an engineer to put together "There's a key and a key hole. Let me put the key in the key hole."
Other than that, Clementine has shown to be smarter than a lot of adults. She was apparently the only one who thought to use a light source so she could see the buttons and switches and whatnot.
Excuse me I gotta copy/paste something over from me tumblr XD
Secretly I'm hoping there's a call back to this scene where they … moremake a joke out of it, like Carley with the batteries. But seriously, couldn't Sarita have been there to balance it out? Like if Clementine had assisted her to see with the lighter so Sarita could operate the panel and then she accidently dropped the key and Clem helped looked for it in the grass before it was used?
And how long has the woman been there at the lodge, a couple weeks? She honestly wasn't told how to use the wind turbine in all that time? >.< Kenny you overprotective muffin.
Travis: My dad was special forces! I know how to survive being eaten alive/shot in the stomach and the head!
Me: My dad was in the Air Force for 20 years! I know what I'm doing!
She said that she could do it before looking at the control panel, she has probably never seen a wind turbine panel before and she said that she could do it without knowing how hard it could be, that part seemed a bit dumb to me but luckily it turned out to be simple.
She was also the only person with a light source at the time so she was the only person who could use it to see the panel.

Othe… morer than that, Clementine has shown to be smarter than a lot of adults. She was apparently the only one who thought to use a light source so she could see the buttons and switches and whatnot.
Why am I getting feels from this Also another feel thing... if you tell Carver at the cabin that it's "Just me and dad", he asks what his name is and she says Ed... which was her dad's name ;_;
Could the game be going the same way as the TV series in terms of stupid scenes like this that don't make sense? One of the worst from the TV series was Darryl using a rotted walker corpse as protection from an array of bullets.

Well it is a simple key press button, I am sure turning off a wind turbine is a lot more complicated in real life, or that was an emergency shutdown switch that Clem used. Key switches are very common for machines that pedestrians should not operate. If you live in an apartment community with a dumpster that compacts the trash, it is likely a key lock button.

The scene would of made more sense if they just had the characters work on the turbine for a little bit but then have the walkers closing in. While everyone is shooting at the walkers you as the player go for the turbine and have the turbine as a harder puzzle to workout and turn off giving the characters that worked on it some credibility that they're not as retarded as they seem.
The writing seems just plain rushed. Maybe the episodes are taking so long to make due to plot holes
her immediately assuming she could do it can just be considered her being over confident in her self. Well, actually, I wouldn't say over confident, since she WAS right. She could do it. xD But if she needs a reason for being so confident in her self, I'd say it's just that. She's relied on her self quite a lot in the past few years(in game time), so she's probably built up a lot of confidence for her self and self-dependence.

What if her dad is a railroad man O.o.
Well, it was pretty simple to turn it off, just grab the keys and put them into the windmills engine.

How can he be a doctor and if he realy is he got fired everytime
Hell yeah! My dad was 20 years in the Air Force, too, as a Loadmaster.
Mine was a senior master Sargent.

So embarrassing.
LOL oh and Clementine speaks with a Patrick Stewart voice when saying she was at university.

The group just learned to accept that Clementine is more competent than the rest of the group at everything without questioning it. We should too.
Hahah, Clem's "Oh Crap" expression when the group actually leaves her to it fits perfectly.
Maybe Doug taught her?
I've learned just to not ask questions...seems like the best thing to do in this situation.

OIC. Thank you for answering, and answering quickly, at that. He said two days later.
Haha anytime .
Yes, because turning a key takes alot of experience.
She probably figured it out along the way.
I'd like to add something to this thread. "How does Clementine..."
"Keep that hair short"? Not exactly a surplus of sharp, cutting items lying around.
