Hi everyone... sorry to add to a old question but I wonder why this would be an issue ? I hear that people say the game is all about the com… moreic universe but surely the tv series itself is also based on the comic universe. It would be nice to see characters from the game in the tv series.. thanks and sorry for any ignorance please do not complain
It's true, the show is an adaptation of Kirkman's The Walking Dead Comic universe, and they bring characters from the comic in all the time. The storylines are adapted though, to fit the medium. As could be expected. So the timeline, and certain characters and the way some things play out are not canon to the comic universe.
The game is set inside Kirkman's universe, and follows canon comic storyline as far as i know. Which is why it would be hard to fit Clem or Lee into the shows timeline or vise versa. But theoretically i don't see anything that prevents a Version of them to exist in the tv show world.
Theres another post of mine down thread that is something i think that could work instead of both groups physically meeting up.

I am a bit of a nerd by work and life... I think star trek did cross overs well and mainly for the viewers so I do not see anything wrong with it and agree with how you put it.. basically just a nod to those that read the comic or enjoyed the characters from the game
I think it would be interesting, but i don't think it will ever happen.
What would be just as cool to me is having their paths Almost cro… moress. Having Rick's group come across some evidence that Clem was there before them, and only the viewer knowing what it relates to. Or the opposite, have Clem come across one of the tv groups' past camps, or something that they lost, and ask questions about who could have left this here. And again the viewer would be the one to realize the connection.
That way they could have the 'easter egg' but not really have to delve into the multiple universe angle too much.
Even if they aren't in the same universe it would still be cool to see game characters in the show. Glenn for example is in all three of the walking dead medias. I think it would be better for the TV universe to be separated from the game universe then maybe we could see some dead characters in either universe. Because if the universes are separated characters can exist in both like Glenn but not have died. Imagine Lee and Kenny just Chillin with Rick or Clem and Carl hanging out! xD I doubt they could do such big characters but still it would be cool
I actually hope so after James from the final season did mentioned the whispers which now just entered the tv show (and yes they look so cool in action) so yeah and also clementine is not that far away from the Alexandria community and they are at the same timeline now

The game is not in the same universe as the tv show so no.
No, the game is canon with the comics not the show. Plus, we've already met Glenn, Hershel, and Jesus. I'd say that's enough
