So what was your Decision at the end?

Did you watch Carver Die or Leave with the Group?

I left with the group.. To be honest i really wanted to watch him die.. but then i remembered these words about violence from Lee
"You have to be careful about that, It will Consume you" I decided i didn't need to watch that pathetic sack of shit die, so i left him to his ramblings and showed him i wasn't a sick monster like him.

the way i see it if you stay and watch something clicks in Clementine, this cold look comes over her face and she sees how thing must be done.

Watch: Lose some Humanity

Leave: Keep some Humanity

What did you choose and why?

  • I watched carver died and enjoyed every second of it. '

I wants to see that butt hole die. he slaped clem across the face, and was cruel and sick. I wanted him dead.

I also cut off saritas arm.
  • I watched him die because I wanted to be 100% sure :D
  • He still had his revolver on his hip. I stayed to make sure he didn't just shoot Kenny if I left.
  • Watched it. Clem needs to be strong if she's going to help the others survive, and leaving felt like ignoring the act of violence that was going to happen either way. Better to acknowledge the hard thing that was done instead of pretending it didn't happen.
  • Stayed, didn't want Kenny to throw out his hip in the middle of dishing out some Floridian justice.
But in all seriousness I just wanted to see it, I wanted to know what happened to Carver, wanted closure. It wasn't until the credits rolled that I had time to realise I wasn't the only one watching, Clem was too.

My view is focusing the attention on the people that actually care about me and who i have to survive with.. When Sarita and Luke where edging me to go with them i was just like "fuck it" Leave it to Kenny.. im going to go and be with people who actually matter instead of staying and watching Carver ramble while getting killed. Although if you watch it is a pretty badass scene but i feel Clem loses a bit of her humanity in that scene but when she leaves she retains some of her humanity.
  • Left. And I'm glad I did!
  • Come on, thats a little harsh. Kenny cares a lot about Clem. He just has his... issues.

whats harsh? Never said anything bad about Kenny. Oh wait i can see that what i wrote can be read and interpreted differently.

  • cut it off better safe then sorry..although with carlos dead i think i should not have.
  • Watched it. I think it's... ehm... not "good", but somewhat necessary for Clem to expose herself to this post-apocolyptic reality.

Just look at how freaking hopeless Sarah is. "Toughen up".

On a related topic, I think how Clem treats Sarah will be the deciding factor in her [Sarah's] character development. Like if you baby her too much like Carlos did, she'll be a detriment to the group. While if you treat her like an adult, she'll "woman up."

  • I left, even though I would've wanted to see Kenny beat Carver, but I couldn't let Clem see that.

Stayed. Clem is not a monster, she's strong as hell and staying will not scar her for life, she knows Carver had to be stopped and if everyone got their anger out on him then I say more power to them. If a person is psycho enough to physically and mentally torture people because in his eyes they're weak then it shouldn't be a suprise when they turn on him, it has nothing to do with losing humanity.
At least that's how I see it.

I watched, and felt like Clem would have wanted to watch, as well. The fact is, as he was presented, Carver was a Grade-A vengeful and sick fuck. Clem's no fool. She would have wanted to be certain he was dead, rather than having to spend the next several years wondering and watching her back for him. :P

After Kenny was done, someone should have taken the revolver off Carver and put a bullet through what remained of his head too. Again, just making sure.
  • I left the room with Sarita. All I've done for Clementine to keeping her humanity in the entire Season One, I couldn't let her to watch someone's death and suffering even if that guy is completely sack of Ben. This people in this ZA world has no "Hope" anymore. To them, that word is so funny and a BIG lie. I tried to show as Lee that "Keep your hopes up. It's not over yet." And I will spread the same philosophy as Clementine.
  • For me, it wasn't about "I want to stay and watch this evil bastard die horribly." I had my version of Clem initially say "let's tie him up," as I felt these people had seen enough death and carnage for one day, but after Kenny shot out Carver's kneecaps, I realized there was no stopping him.

I didn't stay to sacrifice Clem's humanity. I stayed for Kenny's sake, to hold his hand during perhaps the darkest moment of his life. Job J. Stauffer's "remember the meat locker" tweet was meant to be more than just a callback. Having Clem stay with Kenny will strengthen their bond like never before, and considering Sarita's survival in episode 4 is now in question, that bond will be more crucial than ever.
  • First play : I left
Second play : I decided to watch and I did not feel good about that so the third time I left, again.
I just want to prove Carver that I'm better than him you know.
  • Rebecca took the revolver. I don't know what happened to it afterwards...

  • I stayed to watched soon realizing it was a mistake 'cause it seems i got a little traumatized but i was also happy to see Carver dead.

I left the bastard, if I stayed that would mean Carver would win in the game of morals. It would prove that he was right about Clem being a monster like him. He was gonner the moment Kenny shot his knee caps. I left and he just showed he was trying to manipulate her, I'm not stupid when I see a man trying to play a game like that.

Plus this really reminded me of the trials Lee had to face back at the St. John Farm. Both brothers tried to push him as well to killing them, but I didn't do that there as well.
  • You sir/ma'am are fucking brutal! :O. There's no way I could enjoy watching a guy get his head caved in with a crowbar, despite the fact that nobody is more deserving. Clementine still watched, but I had to turn away after the first few strikes.

    Agreed about the arm though.

  • Clementine is hardened in my playthrough and watched it happen. It will be interesting to see how she grapples with the fact that she's more like Carver than she'd care to admit. She said "I'm not like you" when she was sitting in his office, but it seems like she was trying to convince herself more so than Carver.

  • I watched .. just of one thing came to my mind .. to watch this sunavabitch die ...

Chopped off Sarita's arm was better .. because Reggie said that they copped his arm quickly without anything happening to him .. just afraid maybe Sarita will die from bleeding since we don't have Carlos :( R.I.P Doc )
  • First playthrough I stayed and watched, second playthrough I left with Sarita. Frankly, I enjoyed the first much more =)
  • Yes! That's what I'm hoping for. I've been trying to make her toughen up, while at the same time helping her out when she gets "stuck". Really hope it pays off.
