  • give it time. people will likely keep goin till the seasons are done with both games, and then they can judge the collective episodes as a whole, rather than have people keep saying "just wait, they still have 2 more episodes to not fuck things up more and make it better." after that, the game will have a proper rating and opinion, and i doubt TWD season 2 is gonna live up to what season 1 put in play, so they may not see anything bad now, but i doubt it'll sell as well once it's complete.

The sales figures would need to support that suggestion which they probably don't

They're making shorter episodes because they think it's "important" to make more games like for Game Of Moans, which is a completely unnecessary project if you ask me, and we get shorter episode due to their tighter time schedule.

Basically, if they'll hear us and focus more on TWD, they will have to either put more time and effort on the game, which will make us wait longer, or they will have to slow down with one of the other projects like Game Of Moans.

So if we want longer episodes, Telltale has to make a sacrifice for us and slow down with one of the other games. I really want them to put more effort on TWD and I think they kinda forgot which game made them so famous like they are now, it's a shame they take multiple projects at once, and then the quality of all the games are going down.

  • I like GoT, but it's completely dumb to make a game about it on the cost of TWD.

  • I endorse this post with pleasure.
  • However while I do believe as do other people also do that so far season two has been of a lesser quality. It's still okay and isn't utterly terrible. Once complete it's more likely to be seen as a work of lesser quality which is unlikely to effect things that much. It isn't for example Colonial Marines.

  • i think they should even be 3 hours
  • I would like to have more than 90 minutes too and a few more hub areas where we can speak to everyone.
  • Well , Telltale wants the players to finish the episodes through one sitting . I say , Telltale , give me an episode of 10 hours and I will still finish it in one sitting
  • hell, with all the save points they have each chapter, what's it really matter if you don't finish an episode? it's not like they have a proper ending anyway.

episode one: ok, i gotta pick nick or pete... i'll go with ____, *end episode* but... but wait! what happens to them!

episode two: alright, 3 people just died and kenny's turnin himself in. now maybe we'll figure out what the hell carver wants. *end episode* guess not...

episode three: let's see... alvin's now dead, carver's dead, troy's nuts are dead and we're about to escape. *blam* well, there goes carlos. and there goes sarah. i thought she was supposed shut down and go into a fetal position when stressed. damn but she can move. and now sarita's bit. my god, it's like an entire episode of plot set up just happened in the past 5 minutes. *end episode* ya, u know what. screw u too, fade-to-black.

  • Suggestion, Is it possible that season 1 episodes are the same length in cut scenes but that it just took longer since there was more interaction, wondering, puzzles, etc? If you deduct most of that from season 1 and just have the cut scenes, don't they even out? Just inquiring

I agree, 90 minutes is just too short! The story feels so rushed, puzzles, hubs, interactions have been thrown out the window. So what have we got left? Dialogue choices and game choices. I honestly feel like cut scenes fill th gap between everything, I feel like I can just put my hands down and watch as the characters talk for a while.

We NEED 2 hour episodes, for TWD and TWAU. Character arcs and opportunities are being thrown away at every turn. Am I correct when I say that one of the reasons Telltale has made 90 minute episodes was to allow the gamer to finish the episode in one sitting? If I am correct then that's bullshit, because I know that I and many others can complete an episode in 2 hours.

But who I am kidding, Telltale probably won't change shit. They don't listen to us fans. Don't communicate with us either. But if you are listening or reading or whatever, get some better play testers, because the ones you got obviously don't know what they're doing when it comes to gameplay such as hubs WHICH YOU REMOVED BECAUSE OF THEM.

Has anyone noticed the difference in overall gameplay? In season 1 of TWD you were given a large environment and the freedom to roam free. Examples would be Hershel's farm and the drug store.

TWD S1 E1 alone the car ride with lee, finding clementine, exploring her house, the incredibly cool Hershel's farm, the drug store what was one of the best large environment setup I have seen from TTG, saving Glenn at the motor lodge, then the ending of episode 1.........

Wow..... In my opinion episode 1 of season 1 gave you the player more time to explore, interact, get to know the other survivors then all the episodes combined in season 2 so far. It is a damn shame that the level of gameplay has dropped off so much from season 1 to season 2. The s2 episodes are just flat out not long enough. Everything feels rushed and you have little to no time to interact at all with the other survivors.
  • How does that justify shorter episodes though? It is clear the preparation and thought has been rushed compared to last games. There is little to no thought to come up with fun puzzles anymore. The open world gameplay has been robbed away.

In my opinion the new gameplay direction is horrible. I wish they would ditch it and go back to the open world type gameplay.

Allegedly. The idea that multiple games is causing issues is pure speculation. Even if they were only working on one game we would still be getting shorter episodes.

  • part of the reason they may be avoiding the hubs is because for some reason they're trying to keep people guessing and leave 'em in suspense. if you actually had a chance to talk to people, u'd realize that the only things really worth talking about are the things that they're constanstly trying to avoid answering, for who knows what reason. the only people to open up to clem have been nick and sarah, and sarah couldn't even remember who carver was, in episode 2. i dunno why they're tryin to make this into a huge mystery, but they're definitely goin out of their way to make it seem like they're tryin to hide stuff, that would actually HELP the game more than hurt it.

"clem, the-prick-who-shall-not-be-mentioned is after us. he's already seen you, so now u're better off with us. we can't actually tell you anything about him, us, or what's goin on, but it's better this way. for us, of course. not for you."

  • I still love this season, but needs more!!!!!!! im ok how these season has gone, but I wants more!!!!!!!!! MORE!!!!!!!!!!
  • The majority of the fans and customers need to stop buying. Money talks

That is revolution in 2014 sadly..
  • I'm not trying to justify it. Telltale have stated (you can find the topic elsewhere on this forum) they shifted to a new model of making shorter more cinematic episodes awhile ago We've never had open world gameplay from them before. We've had areas which provide slight amounts of exploration but beyond that we are still constrained.

This. The scene thing. Is TWAU Ep3 really 75 mins?

They don't care what we want. It is cheaper and easier this way for them. They got our money, why should they listen to us? We complain abou

I want 2 hours and 30 mins episodes because there is only two episodes left...so they have to make larger episodes enough ..then all of us will going to be happy.....
  • I'm in.
The episodes are good but they feel completely rushed and you can't do much exploring anymore. It's really sad and it really kills the fun of playing (and replaying) the episodes...
  • Change we can believe in
  • I found it took about the same time as the current season two episodes.

I never knew such a post or remark existed. I saw where they were going to come out with a new gameplay engine but I did not see that TTG was moving away from the open environments like Hershel's farm.

  • I would love it if episodes were longer than 90 minutes but I don't know if TTG can do it now that they have 4 projects. If they did longer episodes the wait between them would be a lot longer.
  • I feel like most of the Episodes of TWD and TWAU have been mostly dialogue and plot progression. I think all they really need are more hub areas and more puzzle elements to do in them and the episodes will be the perfect length. I mean, imagine how much shorter Long Road Ahead would've been without the train hubs.
  • Well it took 12 hours to finish TWD S1. The projected time length of season 2 is 7.5 hours........ That is almost half the gameplay missing compared to season 1. If TTG took on too many projects then so be it. A good CEO would push the future projects far out on the back burner and and bring all hands on deck to get the current games back up to the quality expected.

Yes I am saying the lack of length is a direct relation to quality. It is clear in my mind that TTG is becoming what I hopped they would stay away from. They are becoming a assembly line company taking current or relevant brands and creating a interactive movie..........

I liked them much better when they focused on 1 or 2 intellectual properties and created a unique quality game for them.

How about we twitter all this to them so they at least know that we are upset with the short times.. I doubt they spend too much time looking at the forums.
  • Join the revolution!!!
  • Yeah it's F*cking bullshit. I bought season passes hoping you would uphold the standards and quality you had with Season 1 of the Walking dead. And this applies to both TWAU and TWD S2.
  • It's the hubs that allowed the original episodes of season 1 to feel satisfyingly lengthy. If the drugstore hadn't been a hub in episode 1 and everything had played out at the pace of season 2, then it would have been over in a flash. If they put in more situations where Clementine has to investigate and interact with those around her to solve problems and move forward then I'm sure the episodes wouldn't feel so brief.

There was almost a time like this in episode 3, in the yard when the group first met Reggie. But unfortunately, it wasn't actually anything other than an opportunity for Clem to go around and make meaningless comments on the things she saw. The only real reason for that part of the episode was to talk to Rebecca about Alvin. I don't really count Nick's dialogue since he doesn't really develop his character at all, he just talks about Luke.

    > I don't really count Nick's dialogue since he doesn't really develop his character at all, he just talks about Luke.

Later in the episode, sure, he just echoes Luke, but I found that little snippet to be actually quite satisfying. He expresses faith in his friend, where almost no one has, and has one powerful (IMO) comment if you share his hope. It is best visually illustrated, so please go check out this from "The Annotated Dead" www(.)the-annotated-dead.tumblr.com/post/85860624682/i-think-youre-right-hed-never-leave-you-guys

"I think you’re right. He’d never leave you guys behind."

    "Us guys, you mean."

    "Yeah. Us guys."

It show acceptance, camaraderie; it shows belonging. This line is the stuff I'm talking about when I defend those optional moments. This line almost made me forget that the cabin group and I are practically only acquaintances that just happened to get caught in shitty situations together, and that I am along for the ride. It made me look back on what has transpired and go solemnly all "Yeah. Us guys." along with my Clementine.

Then, Nick becomes part of the scenery, and we barely get to talk with our group again other than to consult the plan. :/
