Possible Choice: Clem losing an eye? (SPOILERS FOR "In Harm's Way)

What if, depending on wether you speak up or not about the stolen walkie talkie, it was instead Clementine that got beat down by Carver instead of Kenny?

I know I'm not the only one who previously thought Clem might get beat up by Carver, and (while very much relieved she only got a rifle butt to the face rather than losing an eye) part of me can't help but wonder if it could've potentially been one of those decisions that really change or effect the experience of Season 2. The season's already dark enough, so it wouldn't have surprised me had Telltale been willing to do that... mostly.

Plus the image of a bloody bandaged, one-eyed Clem looking on emotionlessly as Kenny reduces Carver's face to mush is a rather fitting one, if you chose to stay and watch said crowbar retaliation.

So what are your thoughts? Do you guys think that it could have been a possible outcome based on your decision to speak up or not?

  • Nope, no matter what you say, Kenny speaks up for you.
  • I was pretty sure Clem was never going to get beaten up by anyone. Telltale wouldn't do that. They are pretty protective of children characters.
  • I don't think we need anymore parallels with Carl.
  • True. Comic book fan boys would be all pissed about that shit in a matter of seconds. Honestly, I would have to even agree if that were to happen.

That kinda beating would have killed Clem easily. I don't think Carver wanted to kill her after that whole 'next generation' speech.
  • Wasn't my intention to do so. I am merely thinking on a possibility that, in the end, never happened. And I am relieved that Clem is safe from something like that. Thank you Kenny for stepping in.
  • Despite the fact that Duck was bit and shot in the head, and Fivel was some horribly messed up walker in an attic. K.

  • Well she never really got beaten like Kenny was but she get hit by Troy (which caused a possible scar) and smacked across the face (twice) and she also has been pistol whipped and has been hit in the back with an AK. Then Sarah got slapped as well... I don't know what you're talking about with this 'protective of children characters' thing... also Duck died in season one quite easily... not to mention, the death scenes of season two are gruesome.

  • Not always (Duck, the incident with Sam), but I see where you're coming from.

  • I have two play thrus going on. One that Lee was nice to Clem and the other he was a $%^&. On my $%^& play thru I play Clem as aggressive as possible and I was hoping this would happen. Would have been awesome to see a one-eyed Clem watch Carver get stomped by Kenny.
  • Exactly, I also doubt they would go that far with a Clem beating... I mean she did get hit multiple times, which was just as shocking as Kenny's beating (since she's a child) IMO.
