Should I have walked away?

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
So, as you probably guessed, I watched our good old friend Bill have his face... readjusted. Thinking about it now, that would probably mess Clem up, which I don't want. Normally I play to try and be a good person, but the gloves came off at this moment. I watched Kenny knee-cap Carver and cheered "YEAH! Fuck him up!" and I WANTED to watch Carver die. But halfway through it, when he looked like a squished watermelon I thought it was too much and Clem should have walked out... I don't know if I should go back and walk away, the group remembers you being a cold arse motherfucker "It's gon' get messy." "I know." and it's going to affect Clementine in a way I don't want it to... but I don't know!

Thoughts?

  • You rewind and watch it again. Bonus Points if you mod it so that Clem's expression during the whole thing is neutral, not-caring, or happy.
  • I can't tell you what you "should" have done, because it all depends on your point of view.
For me, I chose to watch. I thought that, by watching Carver die, it would make Clementine a stronger person. That was what I wanted from the beginning.
  • Don't fancy watching Carver going splat again

It really depends on how you feel about it.
Some people play Clem as the innocent girl, and others the badass zombie killer who doesn't give two fucks, and some who do a little bit of both.
I personally didn't give Carver the luxury to have Clem there to witness his death, since I figured he didn't deserve her company.
  • I don't think that makes someone a stronger person. And plus Clem doesn't need to be a stronger person she's only 11..
  • the exact reason why I watched.

  • Again, it's perspective. It's the zombie apocalypse. I figured that she's going to see worse things in the future, so I might as well prepare her for it now.

  • But I didn't go for the perspective of "Clem needs to see this so she can be stronger." I went from my perspective of "I want to see this son of a bitch BURN."

  • I got her to go outside and not watch. Yeah I want her to be strong like everyone else. But, I don't think I could handle his watermelon looking face.
After every episode I watch other YouTubers watch it. (I only watch Pewdiepie but whatever) I look up on YouTube all the alternate choices and some of them are messed up.
  • Honestly, that was part of the reason why I stayed to watch too. Though I did it more for Clementine's sake than for my own.

  • I think there's still some Lee left in me, which is why I'd rather her not see it. But I just didn't care at that moment... If I could have taken the Crowbar from Ken and had a go I would have.

her reason is the same exact reason why I watched. so to answer your question, you don't have to walk away if you don't want to.
