Why i think cutting off her arm is the wrong choice.

  • I chose not to cut her arm off. Taking that choice away from Sarita is just cruel. It should be up to her whether she wants it chop or not. Chopping it off seems to be more risky than not chopping it regarding the "walker blood into your blood rule."

it is a situation, either you do or you don't in that moment there is no thinking about whether there is walker blood on your weapon or not. There is no rationalization on what to do, you just do it and take the consequences after.

  • There's been saliva dropping in eyes and mouth with no effects in the comics if I remember correctly. And the scratches transfer the deadly fever too.

  • I really don't want to be the douche running around correcting and trolling people (because after all it is all just supposition and discussion) but Kirkman says that there is a bloodstream rule:

"The weapons would create an open wound, and getting that material in an open wound and have contact in that way would be bad news. Kissing a zombie, getting stuff on you... not so much. It's more like direct contact with the blood stream. Make sense?"- Robert Kirkman

Now that someone mentioned it I remembered back in Season 1 Ep 2 where you have a choice to cut off David Parker's Leg, Lee killed a zombie before cutting it off

  • yeah in the comics in the later issues. I fucking complety forgot and I just read that issue a while ago

Has walker blood being on a spot your bleeding been confirmed to do anything? Yes a walker bite kills you and if you die you come back but h

  • Could be that Telltale is too lazy to make 4 diferent Clementine models and just copy and pasted the cheek injury on Clem's face.

Either way, i regret cutting Sarita's arm now.
  • I admit that I haven't really read any interviews or such, just buy the comics but thanks for the info. It was finally good to have a source to back up the argument.

  • Too much time might have gone by, I'd think. Reggie was super thankful that they had cut off his arm very quickly after he got bitten. When it came to Lee, it was too late if you tried cutting off his arm.

Thinking about it, wouldn't Sarita simply pass out from the shock, pain and blood-loss? It might have been smarter to cut the arm off when they actually escaped the herd.

  • man sarita is fucked wither way. even if she doesn't die do to the stained ax/hammer with walker blood she will still die of infection or blood lost. man either way telltale gave us a really fucked up situation damn if you do one thing damed if you do another. fuck.
  • Kenny: "FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!
I made a bad call, Sarita is one of the only people I trust asides from Kenny to :/
  • Finally! The 20ish percent speaks... I thought I was the only one...

I didn't think of blood contamination, my thing was her bleeding out in the middle of a horde... She bit, if we make it to safety in the next 5 minutes she'll be okay, if not, she's pretty much screwed anyway so...
  • It takes a minute for blood to circulate through the body. It takes even less time if you're in motion as Sarita was. The point I'm trying to make here is that if Telltale sticks to the whole, "Walker blood is just as likely to kill you as their saliva," then Sarita is screwed no matter what you do.
  • ...well, maybe my mistake was a good thing after all :D!

ignore. (Why can't you delete posts? ugh)
  • We'll see what happens I guess. I hope that my Clem will get an " At least you tried".

  • then how do you explain clem not turning when she ate the can of beans? She stabbed that with a knife that was covered with blood of a walker. Just rubbing it off is not going to get rid of it.
  • Stomach acid destroys it.

  • I regretted choosing to cut off Sarita's arm as soon as I saw the first cut not go through. In the heat of the moment all I could think was - it worked for Reggie! I completely disregarded the fact that the one choosing the fate was still a little girl, of course without the strength to really do a clean cut. The state of Sarita's arm was horrendous and I can only hope she died quickly 'cause her face is going to haunt me.
  • Yeah that's why I kinda regret being so impulsive in my decision to chop her arm off.
  • Even though there is, I'm guessing that the amount she is bleeding out wouldn't allow the walker blood to circulate.

You don't die or turn by contracting any "virus" from an attacking walker. It's a multi-bacterial infection that makes bites deadly.

  • The thing is though that the blood will be flowing OUT of her arm stump at least until they manage to tourniquet/wrap it. The walker blood won't get into her wound, most likely, as it will simply be channeled right back out with the heavy blood loss.

Doesn't mean she won't die from the blood loss, though. Consider this: none of them can use their clothes to wrap her wound, because they're covered in walker blood. If they cover the wound, the whole 'walker blood leaving the body' thing doesn't work anymore. She might very well be fucked either way.

What I think would be interesting, though, is a 'Sarita LIVES either way' result. Or just a 'Sarita loses her arm either way' result. Like, in episode 4, it starts immediately afterward and someone ELSE chops off Sarita's arm, such as Kenny or Mike.
  • God, I hope Sarita makes it! She's a really nice lady. I hope the infection's only spread through saliva. But even if she survives the infection she'll need to get a tourniquet on her arm if she's gonna have any chance of living. And they'll also need to clean the wound properly. I expect the next episode will detail these events (that is, if Telltale wants to maintain believability, which they've done a fabulous job of so far).Gahh, why do all the best people die in TWD? Oh, wait, I know why. Because only the evil (Carver) and apathetic (Jane) are truly able to survive in this type of world. Which is exactly why it would suck if it were real. And also why I enjoy it as fiction so much. Here's hoping she doesn't go the way of Carley and Lee!
