How long would you wait for 2 hour episodes?

Judging by the 90 minute thread, most people certainly want episodes of this length again. Yet lengthier episodes have their cost, which to us would translate into longer development time.

This was asked in the 90 minute thread, I believe, but I'd like to see more answers to it. If an extra 30 minutes of gameplay and hubs and such tacks on an extra month or so of development time, would you accept it, even knowing that the waits between episodes are already longer than expected?

Really, if Telltale is even vaguely listening to our input on this subject, I'd expect this would be the big question they would need an answer to.

  • I think when The Wolf Among Us ends, Telltale might make episode 5 for The Walking Dead extra longer since they're not working on The Wolf Among Us.
  • If I had to wait an extra month for an extra 30 minutes, then so be it. While I love the episodes and want them out as fast as possible, there's a time after so much waiting when I just feel "It'll get here when it gets here," and then I'm able to just wait it out.
  • I will wait until I cease to function
  • They ARE working on Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones, though. Their new approach of tackling lots of projects at once means there is never likely to be a time when they aren't busy.

  • However long it takes for them to create a quality episode, that's how long I'll wait. I don't want to be waiting months for something that is poorly written.
  • Lmfaoooooooooo nah but Telltale was pumping Season 1 episodes faster and they were longer.

  • And, possibly due to all the other projects they have on their plate, they can't do that anymore. I'm not so deluded as to demand Telltale both lengthen their episodes and shorten their development time. You ask for one and you'll pay a price in the other.

If they're taking more time to churn out shorter episodes, there must be a reason for it.

  • Like rigtail said, whether or not people realize it, telltale needs time to make good episodes, so however long it is for that to happen, that's all that matters.

No disrespect for Borderlands and Game of Moans fans lol but I would rather they hold off on those projects and finish TWAUand TWD.

  • My own answer, incidentally, is an unequivocal 'yes.' Make it two months, if they want. Three would make me wonder WTF is going on, but I'd still swallow it for better developed characters and a more cohesive plot.

A game is only delayed when it is not yet released, but its either awesome or a piece of crap forever.
  • I'm sure you would. But I'm pretty sure Telltale and their partners wouldn't, since they've agreed to make the games in question.

We have three hours left with Clementine... and four or five enjoyable, yet - in my opinion - disappointing hours behind us. As much as I hate the wait, the answer is yes. I would wait more.

    Go for everything or nothing.

I'm relatively young and healthy, so I'm willing to wait for however long it takes to make a great episode.

Unless something terrible is about to happen to me. In which case, HURRY UP TELLTALE! I DON'T HAVE MUCH LONGER
  • My answer probably would've been different earlier in the season, but at this point, if 3 or 4 month waits got us the length + excellence of S1 back, then I'd be willing to stick it out.
  • Might 2 months and a half?

As long as it takes, as long as I get a quality episode of a decent length.

as much as i hate to say it, at this point id happily wait for a long time for ep 4 if it means telltale makes it excellent. Ep 3 was great, but it really felt rushed, so if telltale just takes their time with ep 4 & 5, season 2 might have a chance to be as great as season 1
