Jane or the Group??

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
At the very end of the episode, Jane tell's Clem something like "they're all going to die, don't let yourself get dragged down with them".

That to me is a very important statement I keep pondering. Would I choose to keep Clem with the group of friend's she trust's or go off with Jane who know's how to survive in this world?

My morality and loyalty want's me to stay with the group, but my instincts say go with Jane, she'll teach Clem better how to survive.

I think as of right now, if I were playing EP4 and was given the choice between the group and Jane, I would choose to go with Jane. It's not easy, I'm still struggling with the whole idea right now, but in the long run, I see that as the wisest decision!

What would you choose? Group or Jane?

  • I would never leave my Luke, not even for a badass like Jane
  • I'd go with the group in a heartbeat. Jane's willing to leave them all to die, so who's to say she won't decide that Clem's not worth her time in the future and do the same?
  • The group - no question.
  • ...Your Luke? Why does that sound creepy... and familiar?

  • The Group.
  • I don't know Jane from a hole in a ground, so I'd choose the group without hesitation.
  • The group doesn't pull clementine down, Clementine pulls the group up.

I don't even have to think about it, I am going with the group, If the option comes I'll mash the hell out of it in a heartbeat.
  • Group. I don't really trust Jane.
  • Ugh, the group of course
I'd never leave Nick and Luke ;)
  • I'm not saying this as Clem because yes that would be creepy, I'm not a Cluke fan

  • I like this group too much to ever leave it. I don't trust her either way... and for sure, I wouldn't leave Luke and Kenny for some random girl that Clem just met who seems really sketchy.
  • the group for sure, all of them have done more for me than jane ever has. i'm not going to leave someone who is my friend no matter how "weak" they are.
  • We don't even know Jane yet...
  • I really don't feel like Clem is attached to the group, example is in ep.3 she says "you guys" to Nick and he corrects her by saying "You mean us guys". I think it would be good for Clem to get some training on how to survive on her own by a Molly or Jane type, so she isn't always dependent on a group. If she gets caught up in a group that makes bad choices she will be able to leave the group and survive on her own until she finds a better group. So I would choose Jane.

I wouldn't be surprised if we can convince Jane to stay with the group. I mean if she was really that much of a lone wolf, why wouldn't she just disappear once she made it out of the herd? It's not like Molly where she'd stand to gain something by sticking around if we go by that preview quote.
  • They sure do look like a match

  • is it just me who doesn't really like Jane (yet) out of the new characters I prefer Mike
  • The group for sure.

    1. Safety in Numbers. Yeah, I know Jane is a badass, but a whole group is still safer.

    2. I don't trust Jane. She is cold as ice, just shoots someone's dick off (although he deserved it) and tells Clem to leave them all for death. Not the start of a healty relationship for me.

    3. I trust the cabin group (more or less). And I grew to like them, nearly as much as Season 1 cast. Jane...not so much. She's just a generic Mary Sue to me for the time being.

    4. Like someone already said, Jane might just decide Clementine isn't of any use to her anymore...Kenn or Luke would never do that.
  • The group. I know them more, plus strength in numbers as they say.
  • Jane. But i don't want it to be this way, I want TTG to make infinite possibilities out of Episode 4, Just like Episode 4 in season 1. The group who comes with you to save Clementine. This time it becomes the group that comes with you and the rest gets separated. For instance, Jane, Kenny, Clem and maybe Molly or someone who will return in the next episode, Or a new character. But you can't bring Luke along if you choose kenny. Your choices must have consequences. That's how they should do it.
  • I feel like a dick for saying this but i think i would choose Jane if that option comes up
  • Great point's but let me offer the flip side of them.
    1. Safety in numbers.. Of course.. but how safe is Rebecca with a baby on the way? All that crying to come! (ever see the final episode of M*A*S*H)
you'll know what I mean if you have.
    2. I don't trust Jane like I do Kenny or the group, but then we've only known Jane for a day or two at most. She is a bit cold hearted but IMO that's a good trait to have at times like this. She could tech Clem alot!
    3. I'm not sure how big of a role Jane will have in the future, Molly had most of an episode and I was hoping she would have become part of the group. We have some 'good' people with us now but we could really use a badass like Molly or Jane so I hope Jane sticks around and doesnt just take off.
    4. That's right.. Knowing Jane for just a day doesn't allow us to get to know her very well and for all I know, she would be willing to pull an Otis on Clem. (shoot her leg leavng her for the walkers while Jane escapes.. Very possible.

I just got the vibe from her that Jane see's the strength in Clem, when she told her good job in getting the radio's. They both know about smearing walker gut's to pass through herd's, She know's Clem (in my playthrough) was strong enough to watch Kenny bash Carver's head in and even took th time to tell Clem the others will die and not to get dragged down with them.. If Jane is such a lone-wolf, why even bother?
And in the EP4 preview, she is teaching Clem how to get past one walker without attracting the others. She obviously see's something in Clem to want to help her.
As I said when I made this post, I am still a bit torn myself with this decision but I'm trying to think what would benefit Clem the most in the long-run. A possible friend and badass like Jane, or a group of people just trying to survive with a newborn baby on the way.

Our current group (depending on your own EP3) One eyed Kenny, bitten or armless Sarita, Mike, Luke and maybe Nick, Rebecca about to go into labor. Carlos is dead, Sarah missing.
Yes is safety in numbers, but our number are dwindling and those we have are in bad shape.

Or Jane. Just the two of us can move faster, Clem will get good training and no worries about the group.

The group for sure. 1. Safety in Numbers. Yeah, I know Jane is a badass, but a whole group is still safer. 2. I don't trust Jane.

  • The group because there are characters who actually care about Clem like Kenny, Luke, Mike, and Nick.
  • everyone's entitled to their own opinion

  • I would be tough because other than Kenny and Luke, I don't care for a anyone on the group, and I thing jane is very interesting, she kinda reminds me of molly
  • im going with jane hands down.
  • ESPECIALLY NICK <3

  • Yes she helped us escape but I still don't trust Jane a lot, if given the chance right now I'd choose the group. Also she obviously can take care of herself just fine, I'll help my group.
  • Jane reminds me so much of Jack from ME, I really think I'm going to enjoy her character ( I would even more if Courtenay Taylor was her VA <3 ), but anyway I'd choose Jane. Everyone thought the girl was crazy, but she seems to know what she's doing and how to survive. I think she would be an awesome mentor to Clem and the two of them would be a sweet combination.
  • Not sure if sarcastic, if yes, he can save Clem's life.

  • Group.

I couldn't leave my boys Nick, Kenny, Luke etc...
  • There's also Rebecca being pregnant, you would want to support her during that.

  • That too. Not about to leave a woman and her newborn child either.

That is...if most people are wrong and she doesn't die. Which would be great, but... :/

  • as cold hearted as it sounds, I would sooooo distance myself from a pregnant woman in a time like this. It would almost have been better to leave Rebecca at Carver's camp.. they have some security, some guns, food, water etc.. I think she having her baby would be safer in that environment rather than out on the street full of walkers. But then I try to think as if I were in Clem's shoes in a zombie apocalype and not being 'just some guy' safe at home thinking of what's morally right or wrong.

  • Jane or the group. I'd pick the group any freaking day of the week!

Jane. if it's just leaving the group.
If it's leaving the group to certain death I might have second thoughts though.

Every playthrough of season one I've decided to split off from the group when Lee and Clem were making a plan.
From day one it's been nothing but dumbass group members making dumbass decisions. Clem shouldn't need to babysit anyone.
  • would never leave Kenny, wherever he goes i will try to get there with Clem, group or no group,Jane ,no way...
