Was the St.John's Farm essentially a paradise?
If there were no bandits whatsoever, couldn't the owners of the farm have just built a wall that the walker's could not climb over? They would have a cow for food, growing plants for endless food and possibly a way to get water. Wouldn't this be essentially a paradise in the apocalypse. I remember Kenny wanting to take over the place. It probably would have been good if they found Mark early and made taking over the St. John's justified. The whole cabin group would have been alive and everybody would live happily ever after. To be honest, it's the living that fucks everything up at this point. The walkers are completely manageable if they are not in hordes.

The electric fence kept the walkers out. Electricity needs gas to run. Gas goes bad between six months and a couple of years. Even without the little problem with cannibalism, the dairy wouldn't have lasted indefinitely.
I like how they had a massive electric fence around the perimeter and then easily accessible gates for walkers/bandits to walk through, just make a wooden wall like Hershel did. Then it would be safe.
It would have been great without the bandits and the psychotic family
It would've been overrun anyway.
They did a good job at keeping it safe for that amount of time but as Lee said "They're only delaying the inevitable".
+The only had 1 cow so had Maybelle died, then they wouldn't of been able to get food in exchange for gas. They could've tried to take it by force but running into groups, it would've been hard being outnumbered.
I still think the Ski Lodge had the best thing going for it.
Shawn would beg to differ. :-)
