If you had to pick a song for the TWAU finale, what would it be?

There is probably a high chance that Telltale's going to use one of their own musical scores for the TWAU finale/credits sequence. But if they were to use a licensed song for the outro of the game, (like they have with TWD season 1) what do you think would be the most fitting choice?

OPTIONAL: Try to make your song choices decade appropriate, since the game's setting does take place around the mid to late eighties, maybe even earlier. As most of us have already known. ;)

That being said: here are a couple of songs that I would deem best for the TWAU epilogue.

The Beatles - Martha My Dear

America - Head and Heart

    Danzig - Killer Wolf?

    I'm the wolf

    I'm the one you want

    I'm the killer wolf

    I'm 'onna pound you home

    I'm the wolf

    Howlin' all night

I curl up next to you

    When you're all alone

  • Hm... must check these songs out.

I must add that I find Fleetwood Mac to be much better with Peter Green, before Christine McVie came along... when they were a blues band instead of that terrible pop influenced mess they became later.

By the way, for it being decade appropriate, not much screams 80's as this:

Strangely enough, I find that this actually fits dark, gritty and noir atmosphere which game had in it's first two episodes very well.

What about Bob Welch? His stuff was pretty amazing, and yeah, I have to agree that the earlier Fleetwood Mac is tens times better than the current Fleetwood. I honestly like a lot of their stuff though, no matter the mess. Especially the 'Bare Trees' and 'Mystery To Me' albums they've made.

Nice choice with Billy Idol! Might as well add in a few songs from Duran Duran, Tears for Fears, or Hall and Oates while you're at it, they scream 80's too. :P

  • "I'm so excited" by the pointer sisters. Okay, yeah....I know. But my mind just went to the finale ending with Bigby being spoofed; nothing really terrible happened and everyone is dancing and having a good time. Then, me and so many others are like, 'Dafuq....' as we watch all our favorite characters dancing

  • Ha yeah, all the characters doing the pole dance glitch.

Bob Welch was definitely the best substitution for Peter Green, he also had a strong sense for melody the way Peter did and was the only one who could touch what he had done. "Bare Trees" and "Mystery to Me" are overall fine albums on it's own, up until "Heroes Are Hard to Find" I find Fleetwood Mac to be acceptable, though very far from it's previous quality. Still those albums would be much better if it weren't for Christine McVie, I can't stand neither her musical style nor her vocal.

I am not big on Duran Duran, but Tears for Fears is an interesting idea. They had their own sound, instead of that generic 80's drum, bass and synth thing. I'd recommend "Laid So Low", but it's from the 90's I think... how about "Watch Me Bleed"?

And what do you think of The Cure? Something from "Pornography" or "Disintegration"... or "Faith" for the kicks.

  • Rise Against - Prayer of the Refugee.

I don't know, it just seems... fitting.

Neil Young - I've Loved Her So Long

I think this really fits the mood of TWAU, and I also think it kind of works for the character of Snow:

"She's a victim of her senses

    Do you know her?

Can you see her in the distance as she stumbles by?

A veteran of a race that should be over

    Can you hear her sigh

    With wings to fly?

    She walks along

    Doing it wrong

Oh, I've loved her so long

Oh, I've loved her so long

    There's a place that I know

    We can go

    Get away for a while

I can bring her the peace

    That she needs

    Give her reason to smile"

Dang, can't please everyone I guess, haha. If you didn't like Stevie Nicks either, I shall be forced to banish... well, I'm sure there's some way to banish Cthulhu somewhere. Anyways, I listened to 'Let Me Bleed' earlier and it was pretty good. I'll be sure to check the other one later.

As for The Cure, never heard of 'em. But I liked the 'Disintegration' song that you recommended!

  • I like Stevie Nicks, just not with Fleetwood Mac. And there are ways to banish Cthulhu, but if I were to tell you I'd have to kill and devour you...

Quite strange that you never heard of The Cure before, they are usually regarded as gothic post-punk, similarly to Joy Division. By the way I was referring to an album "Disintegration", not a song, though song is a good one. I think that their sound generally fits the dark thematic and atmosphere of a New York City slum... actually whenever I listen to some of their songs I imagine them being in some psychological triller or movie about serial killings. And if I am not mistaken they did wrote few songs for movie "The Crow".

Anyway, I was joking previously about "Faith", but then realized that this song actually really fits the game:

He is a country rock guitarist and singer and played with Crosby, Stills and Nash, though he also has quite a stable solo career and often collaborates with other bands. The famous suicide note of Nirvanas frontman Kurt Cobain saying "It's better to burn out than fade away" (which you might also remember from movie "Highlander") is actually a lyric from Neil Young's song "My, My, Hey, Hey (Out of the Blue)."

  • Hey! I love Martha My Dear! Though I may ask why, considering the song's peppy attitude! If I were to suggest something like that, I'd pick another White Album song, "Long, Long, Long".

But I'd probably choose out of everything, a song called "Nights in White Satin" by the Moody Blues. It's a love song, but the composition is powerful and dark-ish and the mellotron fits the sound of The Wolf Among Us.
