realistic problems

  • No I'm just saying I'd rather we didn't deal with it in depth. I know it's natural and all but the thought of it makes me uncomfortable. I just... would prefer to avoid that in a video game.

Yeah that's a very stupid reason to not wanna play as Clem if that's there logic they can't stomach a girl on her period but are fine with people getting there guts ripped out......LOGIC

  • It's just not a walking dead thing, you know?

  • So did they ever explain why people can die from natural causes then turn into a zombie, I guess that concept never really made sense to me because if they were already "infected." why aren't they zombies already? Then again when you bring realistic circumstances in a Zombie Apocalypse story, it just seems silly.

I think that what ever caused the zombies to turn repels things like flies and most of the microorganisms that cause decay.

Well, it'll be a few years, but it'll suck. Take it from the girls on the forum, myself included. Periods suck, i'd imagine they'd be worse in the ZA.

She's probably already gotten her period. The average age for getting it is 10 years old, and lots of girls these days get it as young as 8 (also Clem LOOKS like she's already entered puberty, and menstruation is basically the first thing to come in puberty). She probably got it when she was with Christa, which means Christa has already explained it all to her. I wouldn't be surprised if Christa also had the sex talk with Clem. I mean, Christa is the tough sort who wouldn't would flinch at the idea of giving the talk, and she seemed to understand that age doesn't matter anymore in the ZA. She may have blamed Clem for Omid's death but she still wanted Clem to be able to survive on her own, with that whole "you should be doing this yourself" fire talk. That's one of the reasons I thought it was convenient for Telltale to skip over those two years Clem spent with Christa, so it wouldn't surprise us at all if Clem already knew all that grown up stuff.

  • In the Victorian Era and 1700's, there wasn't really hygiene, or at least not much. That meant one thing: It was normal to see a woman walking around with blood dripping from her dress.

    History!

  • I've always figured Christa would have covered the more nasty parts of...uh, life with her.

  • Bless that woman, I'd kill all the walkers in the world for Clem but I wouldn't know how to talk about that. :p

  • Rebecca: she having her period, jackass.
Luck: oh.... um... yeah well maybe you can explain this to Clem, Rebecca.
[every guy backs out slowly as the Rebecca just stares nervously to Clem who has the glare of death]
Rebecca: why do I have to be the only woman to teach her this!

I was actually thinking about this while watching the TV show. It'd be trouble to deal with. I don't think smell would be a problem though,

  • Lol, no offense, but what if she did. Like you're aiming for this walker in the head with your gun and right when she is about to pull the trigger she cramps and wastes her last bullet, triggering another action scene in the process lol

I feel so bad for her. Damn that's going to suck. HOPEFULLY she doesn't get bad cramps. V_V

  • Sorry, I wasn't intending to come off as rude. I understand what you mean. It's just very different for the girls on the forums because we feel as if it'd be relate-able. Now that I think about it, if I were a guy, i'd be weirded out too.

It's not like they'd actually show Clementine looking for tampons or some shit. If they do, that'd be a reason to stop playing. That's a fucking stupid sub-plot.

This right here is one of the main reasons I hope to avoid playing as Clem Next season. The only other option is to just skip it, like they skip characters using the bathroom.

Clem: Do we have any ibuprofen?

    Luke: We might.

Kenny: What do ya need it for?

    Clem: It's kind of personal.

I think it would be really good comedic relief. Can you imagine Kenny or Luke being clueless trying to give Clem advice? It should be incorporated as a light hearted joke more than a full blown problem.

Well you see, the blood is dead. Dead, dead, deady dead dead. So in theory, the zombies can't tell the difference from dead blood and not-so-dead-blood, because they themselves...are dead.

    [Clementine 10 years from now]

In general, periods is something that I've never heard mentioned in a video game. I once thought 'all these female Final Fantasy characters, does not once have to change a tampon saving the world? that's gotta suck' along with 'don't these dudes ever shave?'. Yeah it's more of a background thought, like somebody said, you never see your favorite characters taking a dump or peeing, and yesh, periods is something that just happens and isn't spoken of too.

That said, I'd really tip my hat to a game developer that actually has the balls to make that a plot point. Not as some 'oh she's probably just on her period' remark, but an actually 'oh shit she's started her period' and it having to be explained it to her.

Getting a period in a zombie apocolypse though really would suck. It sucks enough in normal life, I can tell you that much.

Zombies are attracted by noise not blood they are not vampires lol eewww

anyone else think a girl having her period would attract zombies...um the smell of blood and stuff...

  • Well, things are different in the ZA. Usually drinking hormone filled milk (which is basically every kind of milk) in the real world will boost up everything making you have your period at an earlier age than normal, which the norm should be roughly 13-14 for a typical female without anything that may be changing the typical cycle. With that being said, unless Clem has a secret dairy farm, it'll probably be another two years maybe. I say that mostly because she's definitely not showing any signs at the moment. She'll get there eventually. If it does happen I kind of would like to jump into the game for a moment, give her advice, then jump back into the real world.

Actually she's not to young to get it now. Its normal to get it at 11, and clems 11.

  • But maybe they are like sharks?

  • Quite true, but if the dead smell is dead, and the dead smells the dead smell, how can the dead tell if the dead smell ain't dead?

    You know what I'm saying?
