Why people should side with Luke and not Kenny
I'll just leave a few quotes from ol' Kenny.
"I won't be left alone again"
"You STUPID Fucking Kid"
"This one's on your head, Clementine!"
"Oh look honey, Clementine's sorry"
Kenny's gonna treat Rebecca's son like it's his.
I love Kenny, but he's not safe for Clementine. Let's not forget, his decision to leave and find
shelter got Rebecca killed.

I'd rather side with neither but yeah, Kenny's worse. Can't wait for that piece of shit to die painfully. Lee would be beyond disappointed.
But Lukes going to die soon.
So KENNY.
If these are really the two options, I hope there's also a Jane-style alone path.
I can already see the Kenny apologists pointing out how Luke also decided to find shelter and got Rebecca killed.
Guess what, it's both their faults. Why the hell didn't they follow Luke's original plan and have two people scout ahead for supplies while Rebecca stayed and rested?
he was ok when Clem first met up with him back at the lodge they temp. stayed at, but then after seeing kenny get'n beat up by Carver, i guess he just turns into a real jerk in my opinion >:/ i kind of don't like him anymore…>_<
Enough said.
He took a beating for Clementine and nearly died. He killed Carver, who would have killed everybody including the baby before letting any of them leave. He birthed Rebecca's baby during the zombie apocalypse. Lee would be beyond proud of Kenny. Kenny has lost so much but still has so much love and strength inside of him.
Hell. I'll still side with Kenny, even after the things he said. Kenny lost his eye to protect Clem. It's obvious he cares about her, regardless of what he said. He had felt the pain of being alone before, and hated being in that place again. I won't hold what he said against him.
Guys, I think what Telltale set out to do in this episode is convey how both characters suffer from their own unique set of flaws. Kenny can be a violent hypocrite, just as Luke can be an irresponsible idiot. Assuming there's going to be some kind of final Kenny/Luke choice, Telltale just wanted to make sure the scale was evenly balanced.
I respect your opinion and I get where you are coming from but Kenny lost the person closest to him and by the way things looked, Clem was responsible in his view so he was angry at the time but but he came back after that, and in the previous episode he gave his eye for Clem (Something I think Luke wouldn't do for Clem) And If the baby survives he shouldn't have to witness Luke fucking instead of keeping an eye out for the group-Great Way to raise a kid....
I'd side with Luke in the end because I was never a Kenny fan (for numerous reasons) but I have to say, I think BOTH of them are being jerks right now. Though in both of their defenses they've lost their families. Kenny lost his wife and son and was never the same, losing Sarita was just the final straw (hence why he's clinging to Rebecca's baby like a life raft) and Luke lost his WHOLE GROUP, the last remaining members died during this episode. Seriously, Luke is the last surviving member of the cabin group (if you don't include Rebecca's baby) so both of them are going through some serious trauma right now. It all depends who can push through all the pain and be there for Clementine (without turning into a non-caring person like Jane) if it's at all possible now.
His girl just died, yeah i felt angry at him with some things he said but thats totally understandable, if someone is guilty is the cabin group, they dragged him, Sarita, Matthew and Walter in all that mess, so im with Kenny, he proved he cares about Clem in ep 2 and 3.
Actually, they were nearly completely out of supplies. Staying put any longer almost certainly would have resulted in ALL of them being too weak to keep moving, Kenny was right in that situation. Which is saying a lot considering most of his plans have plenty of flaws, but that one was the best option they had.
And keep in mind Kenny has gotten more fucked by the world than most people and only asked for some time alone, which Clementine didn't give him. She knew he was immensely upset and still tried to talk to him. Speaking of which, does anyone know what happens if you don't say anything to Kenny the whole conversation?
I'm not defending Kenny's actions, he was wrong to take out his anger on Clementine, but he DID tell her to leave him be and he had plenty of reason to be mad at the world. Also keep in mind he nearly got beat to death for Clementine's sake without even so much as a second thought too and still did his best to help the group after losing nearly all reason to go on living.
That's not to say Luke is a bad person either. He is absolutely awful at decision making for sure, but he's a good person at heart, like Kenny is. I think it's unfair to say either of them are bad people or jump to say one is a better choice than the other. It's just opinions, which one's traits do you like more?
I really don't care how much thrust tmf I mean luke has.
He's probably going to die soon, telltale probably cant afford his voice actor
Kenny explicitly tells a little girl, who he knows has gone through unspeakable traumas and has lost even more loved ones than he has that it was all her fault that his girlfriend died and never apologizes (except in one very very specific dialogue choice).
He shoots one of Carver's soldiers even after Clem explicitly warns him against it, leading to Walter's senseless death. As Bonnie rightfully says, Carver only killed Walter because "he was protecting his people and Kenny could've killed [them] all."
He puts the entire group at risk by indulging in his murder porn torture fantasy even after everyone tells him several times to just shoot Carver so they can escape. He never acknowledges that said murder porn torture fantasy is the reason they wasted a half dozen precious minutes they could've used to escape, which led to them being caught by Troy, leading to another half dozen minutes wasted.
The group could've been long gone before Tavia and co. showed up, meaning Carlos and Nick wouldn't have been shot, Sarah wouldn't have completely broken down (leading to her death) and Sarita wouldn't have been bitten. An incident which, once again, Kenny places the entirety of the blame on Clem and refuses to take responsibility for himself. Repeat of Ben much? Not to mention, with Carlos alive, the birth would have gone much smoother and Rebecca would've had a far greater chance of survival.
This entire season, Kenny had been a reckless, irresponsible, myopic asshole who has put Clementine at risk so many times it would put Ben to shame. Lee would not have approved in the least.
Taking a beating for her was just about the only thing Lee would've been remotely proud of, except I seriously doubt Carver would have even done anything that horrible to Clem had she given back the walkie. He liked her, remember? Thought she would be the future of his community, especially if you pretended to side with him.
If you don't say anything the first time and then say everybody don't know what to do he doesn't really lash out at you
I don't know who to trust anymore. If Kenny apologises, I might forgive him.
My reason for siding with Luke over Kenny.
When you play a rational Lee in Season 1, (at least my rational Lee) Kenny will abandon you and Clem when you need him most. That was when he was still sane.
Now Kenny is losing it. He is definitely one of my favs from the series, and it's hard to have to choose between him and Luke, but at this point Luke is a safer option for Clem. Especially after his reaction to Saritas death. (But Luke sleeping with Jane was a very stupid thing he did still...)
I think your name is out of place. You seem to care more about Kenny than you care about Clementine from that bit...
I'm pretty sure he/she is saying that they like Kenny because he protected Clem, so their name isn't out of place.
I care about Clem above all. I was just stating an opinion.
Except now, tons of people don't want to go with either Luke or Kenny. That's not an effective way to make choices difficult. Telltale should've made us like both of them more so it would be hard to decide between them.
"Pizza or Ice Cream", remember? Not "Puke or Vomit".
Whatever happened to Luke's original plan of "Rebecca rests, while me and someone else scouts ahead for supplies"? I'm genuinely confused...
They already did that in previous episodes. Remember Kenny sparing Clem from a brutal beating by Carver? Or Luke hiking through miles of walker-infested territory without an hour's worth of sleep to rescue Clem and the group?
There's only so much Telltale can stuff into one episode. They might have screwed up in a few other departments, but they did their best as far as Kenny and Luke were concerned, IMO.
The problem is that all that effort put into making us connect with Kenny and Luke has been negated as of this episode. Not to mention, by the time the final episode is finished, it will have been months since In Harm's Way was released. People will barely remember their connection to Luke and Kenny from that episode, and will only remember how they were in Amid The Ruins.
agreed
Kenny is a douche.
TEAM LUKE 4 LIFE!
Yeah and like Luke is a perfect God that will protect Clem at any cost and resist his sexual urges around others at bad times, yeah....
Just said this in another thread but it's pretty much my response here too:
I'll still go with Luke over Kenny, though he lost a lot of points with me this episode. Kenny's loyalty shifts too easily, you're important to him so long as you stay on his good side, and he's definitely going to be focused on that baby at the expense of everything else. Plus, he's slowly but surely going off the deep-end as a result of the trauma conga line he's gone through. Luke's cracking himself, but not to the same extent at all. I can deal with his coping through occasional bouts of dumbassery better than I can Kenny's violence and rage.
He admitted it was a suicide attempt. Lol
I'd take a horny but relatively capable survivor over a half-insane, irresponsible asshole any day.
Though I'd rather just go with Christa. Or Bonnie. Or Mike. Just anyone but Luke or Kenny, please???
I couldnt agree more
Well people can always replay the previous episodes.
A pinky swear is forever.
Cabin group rules.
The beating seems astoundingly heroic... until you realise he was the one who forced the walkie talkie into her pocket regardless of what she said. That led to her needing to check on Luke, then getting either slapped or manhandled by Troy. If Kenny didn't take responsibility after he forced her to take the walkie talkie, he'd have been a huge piece of shit. It's still heroic on some level that he took responsibility there knowing how crazy Carver was but it's hardly some giant landmark of awesomeness like it first appears. Oh yeah, smashing the face of a guy who was already dead by the second hit into mush right in front of a little girl you swore to protect is real heroic. Not going to fuck her up or anything. Lee MIGHT be proud of him for taking the beating, if he can get past Kenny forcing the talkie on her in the first place. He'd want to slap the shit out of him for wasting time killing Carver, especially with Clem there. And he'd just beat the shit out of him on the spot for saying what he did to Clem. Kenny is weak, he can't control his anger and spite and his love is only conditional.
You would fuck them, with children's lives in danger, a pregnant woman giving birth, and more so you could have 2 minutes of fun? (If you would last that long) sorry... I'm talking about Luke not being perfect like most people are acting like he is...
Oh, Well then I kind of understand your point... #LeeIsGettingDatPussTonight
Which is why I would not hesitate to follow Christa, Bonnie or Mike over either Luke or Kenny.
Wasting time is what Kenny's best at. Getting Brie killed at Crawford so he could have it out with Ben, getting Carlos killed so that he could kick Carver's head in, and smashing one zombie repeatedly while a horde is closing on their encampment. He's way too much of a liability. I really hoped that he wouldn't even make an appearance in Season 2.
Not gonna lie, when I saw Kenny help Rebecca my imagination took over.
Me How is Kenny gonna...
