The walking dead issue 130 Talk Thread (Update, issue 132 twist)

edited October 2014 in The Walking Dead

Didnt see that coming. The walkers can now talk? What does this mean for the game and the show?

Before that we found out that maggie's baby was named Hershel and not Glenn.

EDIT:If you're skeptical,go read it yourself.It was a great issue IMO.

There was whispers and i was afraid. It was the dead, they were speaking.

And in letter hacks here is Robert KIrkman and Sean's reply to this:They can...talk?! Now we're getting to the good stuff...
That's certainly a weird development! Stay tuned!

Holy macaroni and cheese meatballs!People disguising as walkers? What happend to Michonne?here is my theory:

We all know Michonne likes to blend in with walkers,so what if she decided to take it to the next level?Disguise as a walker, and follow them everywhere! What if she's the captain of the people disguised as walkers?

Walkers are not Talkers....... Well isn't that just GREAT! haha

  • You're making me want to read it more need to get to my local comic shop Stat.

  • if this is true I need to start reading them again!!!(stopped reading at the end of all out war because it was getting boring.)

  • I doubt that they can talk.

What's much more likely is that there were people with walker guts on walking with the herd, they were talking, and Marco and Ken, both exhuasted, with Ken being injured, took it was WTF THEY TALK!?!?!

I have no doubts that whoever is in the herd will be bad news....

    Also,

    HERSHEL LIVES

  • Okay, I guess this is the best opportunity to say: What the f*ck?!

However, I did stop at issue 110, but I do know for the most part what happened. If this turns out to be true, I won't be in such a hurry to catch up with the latest issue.

  • Wait wait wait... Walkers can... "Talk". Are you SURE that's not a typo?! ARE YOU 100% SURE?!

  • bullshit, show me proof.

  • O_O

Lol Next it turns out walkers started from Las Plagas and you see them playing Bingo.

  • Sure that's not a hallucination by a character? Or really shady just to create a cliffhanger? Like, was it 100% clear?

Kirkman could just be messing with the readers.

  • you sure the guy isn't mentally unstable. >_>

Search it yourself.Story is,one guy was surrounded by walkers, but he survived.when he was rescued,he said that he was hearing whispers, and that they can talk.freaky, huh?

  • Yes :3

Wait wait wait... Walkers can... "Talk". Are you SURE that's not a typo?! ARE YOU 100% SURE?!

  • Walking Dead is fairly infamous for bullshit cliffhangers

  • Maybe there were mutated zombies, maybe group mentality made them smarter, or maybe some asshole is leading zombie hordes around.

  • Unlikely.

I like that "asshole moving hordes around" theory!!!

Maybe it's a weird cult whispering chants, covered in walker guts?

  • It could have been someone hiding in the horde like jane and Michonne do. Couldn't it be?

To be fair, if that comic character were hiding in a bush as a horde is passing through , and heard someone like Jane pass by whispering "Walk slowly" as she was in the game but weren't able to get a look at her, he'd be coming back and telling Rick he'd thought he heard zombies whispering commands to each other, too.

What happened in the comic as I've read around the internet was quite similar, right? He wasn't able to get a good look at them? If he doesn't know about the trick of being capable of walking among hordes if you're covered in guts, I can see why he would think the walkers were talking in that situation.

I guess they might eventually rephrase the entire franchise to The Talking Dead...literally! (T.W.T.D) Or The Walking Talking Dead. And then after that The Walking Talking Stalking Dead as they will eventually learn to hunt you down and pin point your location by sent like wild predators that travel in packs... or hordes in their case. Smarter evolving dead if that is possible. The survivor characters are all evolving and becoming more adept at dispatching them. Why wouldn't the dead eventually evolve whats left of their brains to become more efficient survivor killers?

  • Its starting to sound like someone was just walking through a herd covered in Walker guts.

I agree to the smarter evolving dead.I mean,Rick rulled out walkers as a big threat,so why not make them a big threat again.Im not saying that they are a threat because they talk, but its a sign that they could develop something dangerous for humans. They could RUN*!

*If they have two legs of course.

  • Yes,i guess thats a possibility too.If they really talk,it means they're getting smarter, and they might even develop the ability to run someday crosses fingers

  • I hope so. I don't like the idea of them being able to talk.

What if it was the walkers' assholes talking?

And remember this is Robocop talking. (The original. Not the shit they came out with last year [no pun intended])

  • Could just be someone starting to lose it. Mind playing tricks on him, who knows?

  • No way zombies could talk. Either he was so weak that he was hearing things or there were people covered in guts in the herd whispering to each other.

Zombies can't talk? I dare disagree.

  • Thanks.

Another thing that this might mean is that if Negan ever does get free, he may have to join with Rick to fight against this(potentially) new enemy.

I mean, nothing right now indicates that they're evil, but creepily whispering in a herd of walkers? Kirkman is totally setting them up to be the villains.

    Good theory.

  • The situation is that there are two guys, Marco and Ken. Ken is injured, and they're both exhausted. They see a herd coming, and hide in a ditch. All of a sudden, they hear whispers. Marco leaves Ken because he was afraid, and then tells everyone at the Hilltop that it was the walkers talking.

    My guess:

There were people traveling with the herd, using walker guts to disguise themselves(though it was raining, so maybe some other way?) and were whispering so as not the attract the attention of the walkers.

    Thread: The Walking Dead 130

OK so i just read the walking dead 130 and it was pretty good. Rick and Carl finally make to hilltop, we see Maggie and people started swarming Rick because he's kinda like a celebrity to them. Then we get to see Maggie and Glen's Baby who she named Hershel. Oh and then Marco comes back to Hilltop after being gone for like a day and says he left Ken behind in a herd of walkers. If you read the comics or don't or just watch the show or play the game the thing that was revealed by Marco at the end of this issue will defintely be in all things the walking dead at some point.

Walkers can talk now. there's right they can FUCKING TALK!! Its more like whispering but still. So at first i was like "what? zombies don't talk" I've seen it done before and I hate it but maybe Kirkman will something cool with it? I guess time will tell. So what do you guys think? should zombies talk or should stick the moaning thing? its been working for them for a while now.

  • Sarangholic is right, but to add on they have limited functions of the brain who says they can't access more? Also if they can groan they can turn that into some intelligible form of speech.

  • Yeah but who's looking for them? Negan been locked up for two years. His group either turned on him or died. Maybe it's the people at the kingdom looking for them? If walkers are talking I'm not really cool with that but we'll see where to goes.
