Right, that's part of what I'm saying too. I mean, all the bad stuff in the world can happen to a character, but if the character isn't affected by it, WE, the viewers/players, are not affected by it. And the more it affects the character, the better. Obviously, if a character starts off good, the bad stuff must really affect them in order to turn them bad. So it really affects us too. But of course, it wouldn't be satisfying to leave it like that. If the character goes bad then fights tooth and nail to be good again, that's not only satisfying but also inspiring.
If the ZA is all that Clem has ever known, then how can people expect her to stay on the straight and narrow forever? Literally every person she has ever liked has been killed or maimed right in front of her. Some darkness may be due.

“Okay, this is it, Carlos. Whatever you do, you cannot hit Sarah. We have to revolt now. Just jump Carver right now.”
Actually this part reminded me of a scene in Pirates of the Caribbean, where Will Turner Sr. was forced to give the five lashes to his son.
'Bootstrap' Bill Turner: [after whipping Will] The bosun prides himself on cleaving flesh from bone with every swing!
Will Turner: So I am to believe that what you did was an act of compasion?
'Bootstrap' Bill Turner: Yes...
So for me it was perfectly understandable why he slapped Sarah. Troy had a gun and if Carlos attacked Carver it would only do harm.
So the moral of the story is “don’t slap someone to save them.”
Now that's just very superficial reading of the situation. I'm not saying that the slap was the best choice and I never enjoyed it, but I believe that from the medical point of view it was the only way to make Sarah listen. When person is shocked or paralysed with fear it's the fastest way to 'wake' them up. It doesn't have anything to do with violence.
Sarah died a sad, helpless death, feeling no hope or will to survive.
She died because she fell. That's it. Not because she didn't want to live or fight for her life anymore.
And honestly, I don't believe Clem will ever go the dark way. Not mine, that's for sure. She's kind at heart and caring and has enough strength to keep the light inside her.
Well, if you didn't leave Sarah, steal supplies, or tell Luke that she enjoyed seeing Carver die [you have the option to say that in EP4], I can agree with that.
My Clem isn't dark either. But you can't deny the possibility is there.

That does not mean she has to be suicidal. Clementine can be grey. Sometimes you don't have a choice - you may have to kill someone for the safety of your group but guess what that's also fitting the little Clem's personality, she wants to keep people she likes safe except she won't be so naive so NOT do what has to be done because that can actually put the group in danger. She could give a second chance to somebody she trusts though because everybody makes mistakes - she is not Carver.

Well, I haven't tried it myself, but can't you also let the time run out in the trailer and be automatically forced to leave Sarah? Or is th… moreat a game over? If it's not, then that would just be you trying to verbally convince Sarah nicely until you're left with no other choice but to leave her.
And while slapping Sarah might make her depression worse in the long run, doing nothing would have been allowing her to die right then and there. I think it got her to her feet because the sting of pain distracted her from thinking about there terrible things that happened to her dad and brought her back to the present moment in a way that words couldn't.

Well, not to be rude, but I already did explain why. I explained in depth in my post, but basically, even if Troy had shot them all dead, it would have been better for Sarah because she would have died trusting her dad, and Carlos would have died protecting his daughter. I just believe that trust and love and heroism are more important than survival.
Like I said, I believe the slap wasn't the only way to make Sarah listen. It was in fact the worst way to make Sarah listen. Clem could have protected Sarah instead.
I believe Sarah might have fought harder to pull herself out from under the deck while Jane was lifting it if Sarah had had more drive to survive.
I believe it is conceivable that Clem might turn dark and then the light inside her will resurface.
You just don't believe those same things, so there's no point in arguing. That's fine. You have your opinion, I have mine.
Look, I respect your idea of love and heroism, I really do. But think of the whole situation through Carlos' eyes. Would you really risk your daughter's life? When I'm imagining this, I think that I'd better slap my daughter once and never forgive myself for that, but will see her growing up, than see her dying in front of me because I want to seem good in her eyes. Sometimes, when heroism cost to much it loses it's value.
I wish there was. I wish TT would give more options, at the least.
There was a suggestion on this forum that she might injured her backbone in the result of falling and that's why she couldn't move her legs. Or just broke legs. But I believe that group could easily fight walkers and drag Sarah in a safer place.

Also, just sayin'
I remember seeing that option pop up. But it didn't on my second playthrough, do you know what I have to do to get this back?
Agree to disagree![:) :)](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Lol thanks! Yours isn't so bad either.![;) ;)](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)

Actually, out of curiosity, I just went back and played it. It's a game over if you let the time run out.
Ah, that's a shame. Makes sense though.
Where did you find anything in my post that would mean I want Clem to be suicidal? Like really, where did it come from? I'm confused.
I don't get what you're trying to say. Or maybe you think that one can't be mild and resolute at the same time?
Explain why, would you?
