Do you think Kenny/Luke would die regardless of choices in this episode?

We all know there may be a big choice between two friends and the one you don't save will die.

The reason I'd say they would both die regardless is because Telltale kills off determinant characters in the game like...

(Carley, Doug, Ben, Pete, Alvin, Nick and Sarah.)

What do you think?

I hope telltale keeps at least one determinant character Alive.

  • Well if a determinate character were to stay alive, now would be the best chance because the season is in the last episode. If Kenny or Luke were determinate earlier in the season, they'd both be dead or written out of the story by now.

  • Im really REALLY hoping their isnt a choose between Luke or Kenny as its the most predictable thing I've ever seen

  • I don't want there to be a choice. Despite the loss of interest in both characters, I want both of their deaths to be meaningful. Giving them a determined status most likely means their death will be rushed.

But yeah, regardless of a choice or not I think both of them are going to die in ep.5

  • Yeah this is going suck.

  • The story will end with the same characters alive or dead for everyone. Im not saying that to insult Telltale but just saying that much like last episode, a character may die earlier in the episode depending upon your choices but in the end everyones story will conclude the same way.

  • The whole Kenny vs. Luke thing has being going on since 3/4/14...

There's bound to be a choice.

  • If a determinant ends up surviving to the end of the series, you can guarantee if they're alive in the next season, they'll either be dead from the get go or they'll die quickly. They can't have a large part in a later season because there would have to be someone else to replace them if they died in someone else's game. Their role just wouldn't be as impactful in that case. Would be nice if the game branched out as wide as the Witcher games have or Bioware games do, but that's a LOT of work.

SPOILER: Even in a game like Mass Effect, if you killed Ashley in Mass Effect 1, Kaiden took her place in Mass Effect 2 and 3. If you killed Kaiden in Mass Effect 3, you just didn't see what little of a role he had later in the game. Beyond the romance, there wasn't much need for Ashley or Kaiden in the latter half of Mass Effect 3. In Dragon Age, a character like Alistair, despite being in the comics and novels, is a very minor character in the games because he can die in Dragon Age Origins. Determinants in any series (whether it be Telltale, CD Projek Red, or Bioware) are just doomed to bit parts.

If there is a Kenny/Luke choice (as cliché and predictable as it is at this point), one will die at some point (probably the halfway mark to give you false hope they'd make it to the end) and the other will die in the last 10-15 minutes. It won't matter which one you choose ultimately because either way, both end up dead. What changes is the moment between when you chose one to when the other one dies. In the end, that likely won't be that different from each other. It could be as different as saving Nick vs saving Pete at the end of episode 1 and the start of episode 2, but chances are it won't be.

I don't see either making it out. My bet is only Clem makes it and the baby either ends up left with another group that Clem meets during episode 5 because she can't care for the child or he dies. So season 2 ends like season 1 did: Clem on her own and unsure of what will happen. Look at how many season 1, episode 5 started out with and how many we had left at the end. Safety in numbers means little when it comes to the finale it seems.

  • I hope not.

    Really predictable.

The whole Kenny vs. Luke thing has being going on since 3/4/14... There's bound to be a choice.

  • I really hope they don't kill them off because I like both of them. If there is a choice between them I'd rather it be a massive trust choice.

  • guess we will have to wait and see....

  • Maybe no one will die. I do not think someone should absolutely HAVE to be expected to die every episode but. It would be a pleasant surprise if no one died this finale... And on the other hand a grim surprise if everyone died this finale = no survivors.

That was more or less how I feel some people have been acting.

As for actual thoughts. Whoever you pick sticks with you for about half of the episode but eventually you both lose sight of one other and Clem remains alone for a while. How long? I'm not sure. I also really want Bonnie and Mike to live but I don't see that happening...

  • Someone will die thats for damn sure

  • I think you should be able to choose who survives or at least the choices you have made in the past should affect this in some way

  • I would like to think this final episode is almost 100% determinant. Bonnie or Mike, Kenny or Luke, Wellington or Solo, Baby or no baby. Etc.

  • I'd say Garrus and Tali are the best determinants I've seen, but that's probably because they're fan favourites that the majority kept alive.

If a determinant ends up surviving to the end of the series, you can guarantee if they're alive in the next season, they'll either be dead f

  • That's one hell of alot of choices there.

  • Well if they're determinant then yes.

  • True.

  • No I actually think that everyone at the shootout will be possibly determinants by the player. Just a gut feeling, though they'd be lucky for everyone to survive being surrounded.

  • I think that both Luke and Kenny are going to die, but there won't be a Luke/ Kenny choice.

'Do you think Kenny/Luke would die regardless of choices in this episode?'

If they do, I rage quit >.< more so if you have to decide who lives and dies only for them both to be dead at the end. That would suck, that would really, really suck. Like on a scale of one to ten of what I'd think to be lame, that'd be up at about a million for me in making them determinant characters.

Imagine if they'd made Lee and Clementine determinant characters that you have to pick between, that's how I'd view it. I just straight out wouldn't be able to do it. And if I did end up deciding and saw the other get killed, knowing the dude I saved was going to have the same fate soon, if at the end of the final episode or the next season [because that's the way it is for determinant characters, they're doomed sooner or later], I'd just shut off the game and not bother with Season 3, and I really mean that. There's only so far they can push me with emotions on this game, and that would be drawing the line for me, because if they think they could get away with pulling off stuff like that with characters they've seemingly been building something up with...like I said, rage quit.

T_T it's probably why I've been so anxious for this final episode more than excited, I don't want to be disappointed or put off.

  • I want to save Kenny...

Just imagine what would happen if the character you save dies and turns then becomes a walker pet that Clementine has.

    Ew, that would be sick.

  • I think you get to pick Luke or Kenny and Bonnie or Mike and Maybe Wellie or Solo and even Babby or no.

  • [removed]

  • No doubt you have to choose between Luke or Kenny in episode 5
