Any idea why Eddie got Canned?
For those of you who aren't aware you can clearly see Eddie's face in E4's Title Screen does anybody have an idea why they might have canned him and the possible 400 Days story line? This is really bugging me because all 400 Days did was introduced Bonnie and determine if you got a 5 second cameo of my favorite characters from my favorite piece of TWDG fiction...
The picture in question.

Telltale games drug tested him, and fired him because he was positive for THC.
The 400 Days cast maybe had a major impact in episode 4, but then rewrote it.
Nice.
Yeah... I assumed as much it just really sucks...
They pretty much wrote this season twice.
spoilers or telltale games had nothing to do with him..
but there is hope for 205..
I think this is how Season 2 was originally supposed to go:
EP1 = Same.
EP2 = Same(?)
EP3 = Rebecca goes to labor at Carver's camp; The herd/escape plan still discussed.
EP4 = 400 Days Characters who didn't go with Tavia will join the group/ Eddie / Religious Cult
EP5 = Arrive in Wellington
I guess since Doug died their trying to signal that Eddie died off-screen?
Goddamned new writers, thats why.
Eddie was never confirmed, it was just a placeholder. That's the same thing as saying Troy being the leader was canned because he opened the cabin door in episode 1's ''next time''.
Telltale is smart enough not to show characters that can spoil the episode surprise.
he was most likely a placeholder, why would they spoil his reapprence on the front of episode 4. We honestly have no idea if Eddie was meant to be in Episode 4 or not.
Yeah I agree but they designed an entirely new model for him which I would think would be a waste of money,time,and resources so it's odd to me that's all.
I hope not that would be a terrible decision on Telltale's part.
I hope they bring in the S1 writers for the final episode.
I don't think Kenny was probably supposed to appear in episode 2 though, in the slides it shows someone that looks like him from season 1, originally though it was Vince where the shadow of Kenny was at so I'm just guessing at it.
Yeah I agree but they designed an entirely new model for him which I would think would be a waste of money,time,and resources so it's odd to me that's all.
Most likely he was. Wasn't clem suppose to have blood on her face or something?
No they didn't, they just placed his model there and inserted a hood so we couldn't see who he was. It's really weird when you think about it, because he's wearing the same shirt as before but with a hood.
Yeah she was.... that's an interesting proposition.
Yeah the jacket is the same one but now has a magic hood?
I guess the writers wanted to copy most the main points of season 1 episode 4 instead of making an original story
The whole thing with Eddie is, like many others said, most likely a placeholder. And you shouldn't put too much faith in episodes slides either. Remember season one? Duck was very happy on the train in episode 3 slide, Lee,Kenny and Christa were in the sewers in episode 4.
I think Arvo was originally Eddie. The whole scene about stealing meds and Jane saying, "I think you're some junkie" really implies it. Maybe Telltale couldn't justify not stealing from a drug user, so they changed him.
That sounds like a really interesting theory.
they should have made that eddie joined a group of bandits and started robbing people,and it would be much more interesting than mega cliche "evil russians with american emphasis "
Mos Def
Yes it was soo very racist...
He didn't suggest it was racist but if there was ever a bigger cliche than some Cold War Era Russians by nature are fucking evil it's such a cop out.
At least the characters in the slide were IN THE EPISODE, unlike Amid the Ruins.
The slide shows Troy (Carver's original model) and Johnny, the guy Kenny shot.
I don't think he was a placeholder, he's the only one we can see clearly, as the rest of the people around her have their faces totally blacked out. I feel that they changed the episode totally from what they had planned at the beginning. This was the episode I was most excited for because I felt it would be a dark and exciting one, but it was very different from the slide.
Actually Troy was never leader. In the episode two preview Clem said (or someone else) it was someone working for Carver. They were probably gonna reveal him when the group was rushing with the turbines and all that.
Those changes were minor. The train, the sewers and Christa all ended up existing.
NOTHING in 204's slide ended up happening.
Wait till the end of the Season to say whether or not 400 Days was a waste of time
They add new models to characters all the time, just because its odd doesnt mean he was supposed to return.
But the context was always different. What did people expect to happen in this episode judging by the slide? It's true I got the impression this episode would be very dark, or at the very least something pretty horrible would happen during the ending of episode three looking at it, but when you look at how episode 4 started, the slide along with the title does make sense.
The blood is self-explanatory, this is how they escaped from the walkers at Carver's camp(the ruins). Now for the characters in the background, the fact that Doug is one of the characters further proves that Eddie being there is just a placeholder. Why would they even spoil his appearance in the episode slide?
Eddie isn't a junkie, he just smokes weed.
He Tom Cruised outta here and never came back.
Doug? What does he have to do with Eddie..?
Writer for episode 201 and 202 is writing the finale
so it better be good.
