Shootout was disappointing

Just like episode 3 cliffhanger with Sarita (decision didn't matter), episode 4 cliffhanger was meaningless.

No one from Clem's group died and only a couple injuries. Were the Russians using blanks?

It was kind of crazy. Were Clem's people commandos or something? Luke provides suppressing fire, Kenny is standing next to a tree because he doesn't need cover, and Jane sneaks through the forest to kill someone with a knife.

They didn't even search the survivors after Jane's big speech about how survivors have good stuff.

The shootout felt like a false start to the episode, like it's annoying for the writers to shoehorn cliffhangers into the story and then deal with them at the beginning of each episode.

  • I think Ep 4 and Ep 5 had different writers.

Nick Brennon... or Reckon.. or whatever his last name is did a pretty good job with Ep 5

  • It was. I'm glad that Bonnie and Mike weren't killed off, but I really don't understand how Clem's group couldn't be injured when Buricko opened up on them at close range with an AK-47.

  • I actually think it was good.... you know you can't always expect things to be fair, the group paid their price.

  • It was a little unrealistic, but I thought it was a great way to open the episode.

  • The only person hit in the initial barrage was Arvo's "sick sister." And it turns out Arvo wasn't entirely accurate - he was only part of a small group that lived in a house.

  • Im yet to play it but how exactly did the AK47 miss everyone????

  • Maybe the guy holding it closed his eyes before shooting and sneezed right before he pressed the trigger, thus shooting the ground.
    Mike was hit though.

  • what was weird was that buricko and vitali changed weapons lol

  • Yeah that shootout was poor but I forgot about it quickly as the episode got good straight after that. Guess they had to clean up the mess the previous writers left.

  • Clem and her whole group were surrounded and only a few feet from the Russians... how the hell did they get cover within those few seconds and not die? Not to mention Clem's group mainly had pistols besides Luke's gun for weapons against shotguns.
