  • yeah, i think the ultimate goal is always to find somewhere safe to rebuild, staying in the wilderness just isn't a long term plan

Only if you trust Kenny. Personally, I think Clem is safest in a community like Wellington or Carver-less Howe's. We can see from the entirety of Season 2 now miserable it is to live in the wilderness.

  • This would work as well.

I think Christa would work as Season 3's protagonist, as this would allow for another time-skip and have us return to a teenaged Clem in Season 4.

  • I just finished making the video for all the different endings in case you missed them or want to see them without going back.

  • Here's my take. If Clem's story ends in a positive enough light here at the end of season 2, why piss all over it by having Kenny/Jane die at the beginning of season three and starting another season of the same thing? I think they should let her rest for a while. Try something new and innovative with the game.

  • But she can't. For me the only choice was to go alone, but that ending is depressive because she can't care for a baby, she can't even make it alone, doesn't matter if she thinks she might can do it. Even adults have a very hard time making it just on their own without a group.

The implication is that Clementine is smart and strong enough to last on her own and raise a child without needing unreliable adults.

  • What if you had the alone ending?

No. Season 3 starts with Wellington/Howe's falling and Kenny/Jane dying 10 minutes into the episode then Clem takes off to somewhere else.

  • I second that. Wasn't there a time skip in between that seen and when she left the rest stop? If she kept the baby alive for those few days, she can pretty much survive on her own.

  • Like season 2 beggining,lol..You will meet a group and then everyone will die!

  • How dare you advertise here.

    Is Clementine's story... over?

I really hope not but it's hard to imagine how TWD3 could start with Clem on the foreground? Too many endings I mean. Maybe TT do time skipping (many users mentioned that in this thread) but then players will be arguing with them telling that "choices in this game don't have sense". I just finished Ep5 with Jane but alone, without family and I really hope to play as Clem in TWD3 to see what's happen to her after all we see in Ep5, and how she change.

Even if we wouldn't play as Clem, we will probably someone else but someday we meet her (Clem) much older, as some kind of Carver type of person - yes I know, that would be stupid but who knows?!

  • I've played the episode now and it reinforces my believe that Clem's story should be over besides a cameo in season 3. Most of the endings give decent closure and give hope that things will be okay for the foreseeable future. And in TWD that is the best you can hope for.

  • Nah they can import saves over not a big deal then the game is different but will end at the same locations.

I think it is over for them, there are way too many alternate endings for TT to do another series with Clem. Looks like Season 3 will be a fresh new start maybe?

  • They could do an episode 1 with all the branches and then at the end everybody get the same ending. Episode 2 would be kind of same for everybody then. Cause when you think about it, there's not that many endings. (Kenny/Alone/Jane/Family with Jane). Plus, Jane and Family with Jane could be the same, since it would'nt be too hard to think that Jane and Clem decided to leave the family or say something like "Sad it turned out to shit".

  • I think it'll be Christa's time. Honestly, aside from being bitter about Omid's death, how much do we know about her, really? She's more of a blank slate than Clementine was going in, so there wouldn't be any obstacle to her being a PC. It prevents any problems with the comics because we don't really have to skip ahead too much in time, and there's plenty of chances for a crossover. I mean, hell, when Edith says she doesn't think there's anyone by the name of Christa.... I can already see an episode in Wellington where Christa gets left behind on a supply run or something and Edith had something to do with it (a la a certain character's fate in Season 2 of the show). And hell, we might even run into Clementine again at the end of Season 3, with some altered dialogue (I'm on my own after Kenny died a few months back... Things went to shit back where I was staying with a woman named Jane... I've been taking care of AJ on my own for some months now... etc).

I think its time for Clem's story to end. Too many divergences, too many choices wrapped up in choices, and her just reappearing is going to get stale. Let's focus on Christa now.

  • Exactly my thoughts.

  • If this is truly Clem's story end, you really feel like it's satisfying? Really? I mean, it was a great episode, one of the best. Really. But god, it would be a terrible ending for Clem. It really felt... quick.. Neither of the endings are true endings for Clem.
Plus, I don't think TTG would let such a good character like Clem on the side. We went through taking care of Clem as Lee, then helping her as her and finally making her being like us. So we still have to play as "us" now.

  • How does bonnie die?!

    Bonnie is determinant though.

  • Actually, I am satisfied. I end up with Jane in Howe's with a family.

  • It's a satisfying season finale. But definitly not a satisfying closing arc's finale... What is sad is that most of the people's argument for not having Clem in season 3 is that TTG wouldn't be able to handle the 5 different endings.
Which might be true, but still doesn't mean we won't get to see Clem. We could have a first episode that'd start in a really different way but ends the same for all.

I don't know... Really would feel like a waste and it would be really disappointing... I'm not only talking as a ClemenFan, but also as a screenwriter. It's a really poor ending if it's the Clem's final ending.

I played it again, and what strucks me is that the "9 days later" thing really felt like it was supposed to come after the end credit. Doesn't add anything to what I've said but I just realised it :p

  • Will there be season 3 at all?

No. Season 3 starts with Wellington/Howe's falling and Kenny/Jane dying 10 minutes into the episode then Clem takes off to somewhere else.

  • So, now that season 2 is done... who's looking forward to Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones? Should be good to keep us occupied until season 3 comes.

  • I think his point was that since Jane/Kenny are determinable characters they will die/go MIA shortly into S3 so that Telltale don't have to write five different stories.

I think with the North/South thing we're going to see a new protagonist. If all roads led to Wellington then I think that we'd see Clem in S3, but the choices and consequences are so different that her story is over for now.

But you can survive with either Jane or Kenny depending on what happened at the fight between them and if you forgive their actions.

  • She falls through the ice if you choose to cover Luke. She will try to help him and fail miserably.

"Empathy. Humanity. Survival." I suppose Empathy applies to sticking it out with Kenny, as it implies that you empathize with his pain
