Question for Kenny Fans (spoilers)

So after this episode played through are you still a big Kenny fan? I feel that for myself, "No Going Back" really solidified my dislike for him. I was really tired by the end, of having to constantly calm him down, watch group members leave because of him, and finally his attempted murder of Jane. He really went off the deep end and Jane was right. I shot him off of her because as much as people deny that he wouldn't do that to Clem, at some point he would have snapped on her. Also, I was mad at Jane for provoking the fight, but it was a much needed wake up to Clem and players to show you how unstable he's become.

  • Still a fan.
PS. I thought mike was cool , I , I don't know how to react now.

  • Still a fan . In the end , Jane provocated him to fight . Kenny's the best.

He pissed the f*** out of me, but I'm still a Kenny fan and always will be. The way I see it Jane had it coming to her provoking him like that.

  • Still a fan. Not as hardcore, but still a fan. Jane severely provoked him to fight her. There was no reason for her to do that. The endings with Kenny at Wellington really showed he was capable of letting loved ones go, and that he wasn't possessive of the baby. Him giving up his hat for AJ and Clem and him crying really made me tear up and cry.

    So, yeah. Kenny's alright.

  • I'm even more fan of him now.. He did what he has to do. Jane "murdered" a baby, and it if was me I will probably kill Jane right away. Kenny is the leader, he was right that Arvo was a threat, and he fucking was.

  • Never been a huge kenny fan but i liked him because of the past. I killed him. He was obviously a danger to any group. I want my clem to live with other people try to start a new better life. With Kenny is sadly that impossible.

The game needed it. I couldn't take another season of Kenny and his reckless ways. I'm glad we at least had an option to go with Jane. Kenny in many ways was becoming like the Daryl Dixon of the show.

Over-used, too many annoying fans that will go apeshit if he dies..

  • Yes. Jane went too far and she knew it.

  • Arvo wasn't really threat. It's how Mike and Bonnie responded. It was either Kenny's way or the highway. They were getting sick and tired of that shit. Dude, they even left Clem behind! That's how sick and tired they were of Kenny... Kenny's a leader? Kind of like Carver, someone who beats down the opposition.

I'm even more fan of him now.. He did what he has to do. Jane "murdered" a baby, and it if was me I will probably kill Jane right away. Kenny is the leader, he was right that Arvo was a threat, and he fucking was.

  • Still a fan and I always will be. Jane didn't have the right to say those things in the car, she was purposefully provoking him, and her plan to prove her point was beyond fucked up.

  • Exactly. Although it did feel weird to hear her die. She's a tough lone wolf and I felt like she was too much of a teenager like girl to die. I don't know. I side with Kenny, but it was really awkward for her to go.

  • I've always been a big fan of kenny, i always supported his decisions but at episode 5 i knew he wasn't going to be helpful anymore. i saw how he was forcing the group apart and how much they feared him and i knew he couldnt be counted on anymore. while i dont at all agree with jane's plan to anger him, it showed how much of a danger he truly was he didnt give jane a chance to explain and just attacked her. It can be argued that he had took her body langage or whatever as a sign she killed the baby, it showed me that he wasnt reasonable anymore because Jane was uselful in the apocalypse people are useful and he was willing to risk him and clem dying just to get his anger out or get revenge in the terrible situation they were in. Kiling Jane wouldnt have achieved anything it would just have made them weaker and drawn walker. So i killed him cause i knew he could risk our safety in the future if i stayed with him, i couldnt allow him to kill jane and weaken what remained of our group and simply because i can see there's nothing left in there, really anymore, of the kenny i knew in season 1.

  • This solidified my opinion of Kenny. He's not a perfect man, but there was no way I could ever abandon him now. It broke my heart seeing how his dream of reaching Wellington came true, only to be taken from him. Even then, he thought of Clem and the baby first. There was no way I was staying in Wellington, and I know things won't be easy on them for the months to come. But I know I made the right choice.

If anything, Jane, in her efforts to "expose Kenny" showed us who she really is. You DO NOT LIE TO SOMEONE! You DO NOT GET THEIR FRIENDS KILLED!!! AND SUDDENLY THINK THEY WILL FORGIVE YOU!!! THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS!!!

  • Yes, I felt the same way, even though I would have never turned my back on Kenny. I didn't like her that much before, but I was glad when she came back and saved the group... I just wasn't expecting the choice to be about the two of them.

  • You do not get their friends killed

Walter... Alvin... Rebecca... Hell, he almost got Clementine killed. Simply because he wouldn't see any other way.

There are consequences for rash actions. Hell, Carlos hit the nail in the head perfectly.

  • I still am,yes.I wouldn't betray my friend for someone I barely know..I let him kill Jane and I went with Kenny instead of staying at Wellington.Jane wanted to have a fight..why would she say the baby was dead?...

  • You didn't get?

She questionably tried to manipulate Clementine into showing how reckless and psychotic Kenny was. For some people, it didn't work. For me, it did though.

  • I'm not trying to justify what Kenny has done, merely stated my opinion on him and Jane and how I choose to see it. Nothing more, nothing less. As I said, he's not a perfect man, but I will not abandon him.

    (heavy sigh)

I'm sorry. Was going through an emotional shit-storm when I wrote that. Still am right now. :'(

  • A HUGE FAN. He sacrificed himself for clem and baby to get in the Wellington. How the fuck can you dislike that?

  • That was a super hard decision for me. At first I thought it would be super easy to just pick his side. I think what Kenny didn't isn't right but at least from the ending I know that Kenny truly cares for Clementine and I just felt that in the game I needed Kenny to know that someone actually cared about him as well.
    So still a fan.

  • Agreed. I was stubborn as a mule. Not leaving him ever again.

  • I even love him more now! Jane wanted a fight and she felt so tough, and then kenny fucking killed her, look at kenny's build and age, now do the same with Jane! Jane provoked and Kenny reacted, and im ended up with him, but well that he is derminant ruined everything.. i know how they handle derterminant characters :(

  • definitely still a Kenny fan
at least he cared about Clem and not like Mike and Bonnie those shits

  • Yeah im sad he is determinant too.But think about it,Luke is dead,bonnie-kenny-jane are determinant.Only arvo and Mike are unknown.

  • I still liked Kenny, despite his flaws. I think his problems and bullshit are what made him interesting. Even so, I shot him.

I understand Jane's reason for doing what she did, I even sort of think she was right to do it, but I decided not to leave with her even if she was right. I think if Kenny would go off on Clem at some point and was a danger to her, Jane's manner of proving that to Clem felt equally dangerous.

I appreciate all she did for Clem, but can't trust her if she'd pull something like that on Kenny (and put us all in danger) just to prove a point. Maybe there never would have been a better time to do so, but Kenny deserved better than that. My Clem shot him because it had to be done, but Jane went to far in provoking that kind of outburst from Kenny.

Argh, this episode and season was very depressing. Just doesn't sit as well with me as S1 did. Feel like it is lacking real closure, at least for the herd ending I got =/

  • Fuck mike , how could he do that!

  • I know Kenny can be an asshole sometimes (mostly all the time actually :P) but I like him cause I know what he's gone through and understand him. I think Jane got what was coming to her when she did what she did.

I loved Kenny, and I had to pause the game when the final choice came up on who to help...

I helped Jane, but it took me a good 10 minutes to decide.

In the end, I hoped he would understand the moment it happened that I did it for him... To end his suffering. I'm glad he didn't die right away, because I got to tell him.

  • i loved kenny always did but i knew that he had to go so i killed him what happened at the end was just fucked idk

  • All he ever did was for the baby and Clem, in my playthrough he even sent them off to Wellington and walked away just because he was afraid of himself...

He's not like Carver, not close.

  • If you had let Kenny kill Jane you would be a Kenny fan again. When I found AJ after the fight I couldn't believe the lengths Jane was willing to go to have me give up on others. I also felt bad that I nearly decided to shoot Kenny afterwards.

  • I am a massive Kenny fanboy, and I didn't shoot him.... I let him kill Jane... I THOUGHT SHE KILLED THE BABY ! And I didn't feel bad when it turned out she didn't... I mean, she risked herself, Kenny, and Clementine to prove a point ?! What kind of a sick person does that... I mean, she did save Kenny in the beggining, but you play with fire, you get burned.... I guess I'm one of the rare people that didn't go to Wellington... Jesus, just seeing Kenny and Clem in tears made me cry like a baby, and I think Clem sees him as a father figure, here's why

Kenny ( in tears) : You're stubborn like a damn mule

Clem (also in tears): Wonder who I got that from.

    This episode was.... 100000/10

  • Well, there is a season 3 :p

  • Kenny was a fantastic character because he was super consistent, whether or not you liked him is up to you. We saw signs of him in season 1 as a ticking time bomb, and it certainly wasn't swept under the rug in season 2.

I was really sad when I killed him, but it made sense to do so under the circumstance.

  • I don't agree with what Kenny did, but it was all Jane's fault.

Why the hell did she do that? Just...why? She could have told him. She could have just told him, goddammit...

The knife was right in front of her face, and she still didn't tell him the truth?

Jane was no better than Kenny. She started the fight, could have just stopped it right there and then. I didn't help her in the end, but it still was a hard choice.

    Just fuck...!

  • "To kill a man in a paroxysm of passion is understandable, but to have him killed by someone else after calm and serious meditation and on the pretext of duty, honorably discharged, is incomprehensible."

Kenny was in a fit of rage sure, but Jane knew exactly what she was doing, and indeed planned it. It would have been premeditated murder, so yeah I sided with Kenny :P

  • Wait, he gives his hat to Clementine and AJ? how the hell i missed it?

Now i miss him even more.
