Your favourite ending?
So, the incredible has happened. Telltale gave us 5 (!) different endings in this outstanding Season Finale. And I would just like to now which one you liked best.
Spoiler Warning! There are five different endings, and if you don't want to know what they are like, stop reading!
Here's what I'd have to say:
5. Clementine is alone:
Yes, that's actually my least favourite ending of them all. It's just another badass Clem scene at the end, and Clem just shooting Kenny in the head just like that? Out of character in my opinion.
4. Clementine is with Jane and the family:
I don't like both of the endings were Clem goes with Jane, but I like this one less. The last quote was so unfitting.
'Nice hat.'
'Yeah, thanks.'
Didn't like it that much.
3. Clem is alone with Jane:
Maybe I'm a little biased, but I just can't warm up to the Jane endings, mostly because I despite Jane for the things she did.
But, since I consider shooting Kenny the 'Eviltine' choice, I say all in or nothing. If Clem is cold enougb to shoot Kenny, even if there were reasons, then she can reject a couple of strangers, of whom one always claws at his back (I knew he was carrying a gun all along).
2. Clem is with Kenny:
Now it gets feely (I think the other ones were 'just' endings, but now the emotional shit is coming).
I love it how Clem rejects to go to Wellington because of Kenny, and I can see how, deep inside, he is so happy about it, even though he'd like to know Clem save.
But it all is nothing against:
1. Clem stays at Wellington:
In my opinion, this ending was sadder than Season 1's ending, but at the same time bittersweet.
Even I cried, and it takes a shitload of input to make me cry. But Season 2 achieved what Season 1 couldn't: It made me cry. Like, I really cried, not just some eye rubbing.
How Kenny offers to leave...so intense. And how they both are crying in each other's arms...how Kenny says:
'I don't trust myself to keep you and this baby save.'
And how Kenny explained why he won't look back. That was the part when the first tears started flowing.
And then, the last line of them all, it broke me.
Kenny: 'I'm glad to have met you, Clementine.'
The last line of Season 2 was (on my playthrough) just epic.
Gavin Hammon, you rock!
Telltale, you rock!
This ending alone saved the whole of Season 2's many errors.
