Season 3 Protagonist
First off, I just want to say that was an AMAZING end to the Season. I ended up with Jane as she is my favorite character in the series (other than Clem). The reason I like the ending so much, is because they can generally take it where they want. Right now, the Season 2 endings are concrete enough to where I would be satisfied if that's Clem's curtain closing, BUT, they could also do a thing where Clem and whoever you ended with went to find supplies, and ended up where Season 3 will begin. So, with that said, who do you think will be the protagonist of Season 3? I really don't know, but have a feeling they will start with someone new, maybe even AJ when he's grown up a bit. Since Clementine had 5 different endings I can't help but feel they will start with a new character, but who knows. Again, amazing episode, amazing season, and I can't wait for more content in the future! All aboard the Season 3 hype train!

We've got a long road ahead on the Hype train :<
I'm thinking it's someone new, but Clem will be his partner in the zombie apoc. I don't know, maybe....
I really hope Clem isn't deuteragonist in Season 3, that would just suck in my opinion . It's okay, the hype train never runs out of energy, we'll be there in a flash
7 ? not 5 ?
I would be really surprised if the third season didn't have Clem as the protagonist. They've put way too much into her story to end it where Season Two did and after playing as her, it wouldn't be the same to have her in the background again.
It's 5, I was wrong.
Yeah, but there were 7 different endings, I really feel like it's Telltales way of closing the curtain on her story.
Hope for Christa.
Secretly hope for Nate.
I hope for Nate, loud and proud.
1) Clem with AJ, Jane and the family
2) Clem with AJ, Jane without the family
3) Clem In Wellington with AJ (Accept to stay in Wellington resulting in Kenny leaving)
4) Clem with Kenny and AJ (Refuse to stay in Wellington)
5) Clem and AJ alone after leaving Jane (Shooting Kenny)
6) Clem and AJ alone after leaving Kenny (Not shooting Kenny)
7) Clem and AJ alone after killing Jane and Kenny (First you decide not to shoot resulting in Jane's death and then shoot Kenny)
Ssshhh don't let Telltale hear you! They'll kill him.
Christa is probably gonna come back in Season 3, but I hope she isn't the protagonist. That would make me sad ;-;
But the majority, if not all, of the 7 endings are too open-ended to be proper conclusions.
While that's true, why else would they give you 7 or so different endings if you were just gonna start in the same place in Season 3? I also am afraid they will pull an Omid and just kill off your choice from S2 at the beginning of S3, although I don't think they would do that.
Don't know if I'll buy S3 if Clementine isn't involved
Clem is done thankfully, and I think it's reasonable to consider Wellington as THE safe haven for people. And Clem being a kid has no reason whatsoever to go out again. It wouldn't make sense.
Regarding a new protagonist, I would prefer someone new from day 1. Since 400 Days got badly botched, I see no reason to why we couldn't use some of those characters - you know, since they all except Bonnie were forgotten by the fantastic writers of season 2...
That is my first point. My second would be to make longer seasons. As it is, we have waaay to long time jumps (16 months? Really?) and I don't like that one bit. Longer seasons would mean longer time to get to know people, develop relationships and so on.
Idk why but I think it will be a new person, and maybe a season or 2 down the road we will run into Clem again. I know its far-fetched but I think it could happen.
Oh god no. A zombie apocalypse should maybe go on for a year or so - season 1 and two stretching it into almost two years? No way.
Just as everything else that is good, TWD needs to end as well. That doesn't mean we can't have different games set in the TWD universe, but they should be parallel to each other.
Which in turn means, I really, really hope we will never see Clem again.
I have a theory.
You play as a new character, separated from their group (TT loves their fucking callbacks). You find a woman, about in her twenties with a young child. She tells you her name is Clementine, and depending on your choices in previous seasons, she will greet you either kindly or not so kindly. Eventually, you set up camp together. She will either tell you about being on her own, Kenny's death, Jane's death or the fall of Wellington.
And then they begin to have their adventures. Also, depending on what you said to Clem in the barn, AJ's first word will either be "shit", "manure" or "doo-dey."
What the hell is a deuteragonist?
Maybe we can be the protagonist?
"The person second in importance to the protagonist in a drama."
Other games have managed it. They might have to make several different versions of the first episode but I could see the different routes converging again at some point.
Some characters can die in Mass Effect 2 who would have otherwise appeared in Mass Effect 3. In that case, new characters were made to fill the roles that the dead characters would have done, which I think is a better way to handle the Kenny or Jane issue than killing them off right away.
But only one ending has Clementine end up in Wellington.
What about Christa as a protagonist? Takes place pretty much during the same time as Clem's story but focuses on her trying to reach Wellington and struggling with her feelings (ie: anger at losing her husband/child & whether or not she really wants to find Clem). Team her up with some characters from 400 days and it can be really interesting.
clem is the heart and soul of the walking dead. to get rid of her would be just stupid and a giant missed opportunity now that there is with enough of a time skip a chance she could take over lee's role with alvin.
Stop wishing for another protagonist people. We cant play a different character every season. Clem's story isnt over. I want to continue playing as her.
Actually, that idea could work, assuming Krista ends up with Clementine at the end and they can go off and be in Season Four. But Clem's story is definitely not finished, IMO.
Someone new would be great. Maybe someone like a guard at Wellington so we can still go out and have danger, deal with human drama and the like. And everyone that will ONLY PLAY IF I CAN HAVE CLEM KTHX will be appeased as she'll be there in some way, shape, or form in every episode.
Ending of the first episode can have Clem show up if you had a different ending then her already being there. (With Kenny and AJ, with Jane and AJ, or just AJ).
2nd episode will have the determinant character be on watch, so not a ton of interaction and they'll eventually die but it can happen later on and be more unexpected. Clem is around and maybe asks your character to help get formula and stuff for the baby on your next run in to another town.
It could work, and I think could be more enjoyable. It was fun but playing as a little girl, has some incredible limitations that you wouldn't have as a full-blown adult. That's why I enjoyed Lee far more as a protagonist. He could get in the middle of people (and Kenny sure as hell wouldn't have just shoved him to the side when he stepped in front of him), there can be actual love interest (which isn't needed but is a nice touch to make you actually feel for a character), more adult related themes could easily happen as well (think Molly and what she had to go through). It would open things up far more for darker and more gut-wrenching stories in my opinion.
Not to mention, there's nobody left from S1 other then potentially Clem. Do you really think she'd survive a 3rd season? We've seen that TTG likes to make people weep like babies. If they don't give you a new character with new friends and loved ones then how are they going to do that other then to kill off Clementine?
Really? That was the ending I got, so I pretty much assumed that that was it. I haven't followed the rest of the discussions on that really.
Any chance she dies in any ending?
I'm hoping for a fresh start
Fivel's mother/father for S3
That sounds awesome. That would be a Season 3 I would love to play!
They can't expect me to just.. ACCEPT a new character... Fuck that... One more season with Clem I say...
Your comment got me thinking something, and the more I think about it, the more it makes perfect sense (with one exception). Since we know Telltale can pull off different characters being alive at the same time depending on your choices, i.e. Doug and Carly, I think that Season 3 could have Clem as protagonist traveling with Either Kenny, Jane, or Christa. Kenny and Jane if you are with them at the end of Season 2, and Christa if you get the Wellington ending, since she was going there in the first place and we don't know if she died or not. The only part about my theory that isn't covered is the alone ending, but Clem could just be alone, although that might get confusing on Telltale's part. Maybe Clem will encounter a character new to Season 3 earlier on if you get the Alone ending? Either way, I really think my idea makes sense. What do you guys think?
Clementine in Session 1.
No. Don't trust Wellington. Its not as safe as its said. Ask the family at Howe's Warehouse about being up north.
Clementine doesn't die in any of the endings! But if you kill both Kenny and Jane or leave Jane after killing Jane, you see Clem putting walker blood on her and AJ while walking into a herd of walkers somewhere in the countryside alone. Interesting scene.
But its confirmed that Christa isn't at Wellington, no one there has heard of her. At least, Christa isn't there yet. Her fate is still unknown.
Session 1 and Session 2 will be completely pointless if we don't play as Clementine in Session 3.
This makes perfect sense, and would resolve the multiple endings provided that Clem somehow makes it to Wellington. Christa knew about Wellington and she was looking for it--let's say she finds it and Clem is there with AJ (and possibly Jane or Kenny). Then they leave for some reason, and Jane/Kenny can come along at least for an episode.
