OPEN LETTER/DISCUSSION TO TELLTALE: Walking Dead DLC Where You Play As Mike
To Telltale Games and the Community,
Since it's determinant if Bonnie actually comes with Mike and Arvo, I'm not including her in this discussion.
Let's face it--I love Mike. Yes, he left Clem--but the only problem I had with that choice is stealing all of the supplies, but at the same time--Mike is a humanitarian sort of guy. He's known Clementine and the group to be resourceful and capable of themselves--while on the other hand Arvo is a gangly teenager with a slight physical disability who speaks broken English, who had indirectly caused the deaths of his sister and friends (he called them his friends so I assume they had a relationship) and not to mention, for the previous two days, was being insulted and beat repeatedly by Kenny
(Side Note: It's actually determinant but, when trying to convince Kenny and Jane to come to the fire, if you tell Kenny [I understand if you want to be alone] he stays put. When the cut scene where Mike goes to comfort Arvo, the moment he starts screaming to be left alone Kenny runs over and beats him into straight unconsciousness. So, Arvo has the possibility of being beaten twice by him--for those of you who hate him, go nuts)
But I digress--all of those things painted Arvo to be extremely sympathetic and helpless to Mike, therefore he wanted to do what he could for him. I sincerely doubt Mike could ever stay mad for long if reasoned with and offered apologies, he just doesn't seem like that sort of character--so I imagine that he took Arvo with him, in fear that he would die if he was left alone. I really think it would be interesting to play from his perspective, struggling to be a 'leader' and protect someone who quite literally can't take care of themselves.
Maybe we'd learn more about Arvo and see some of his redeeming qualities as well? I mean, let's not forget, Lee killed a man--but everyone grew to love Lee because we learned about his redeeming qualities over time, despite others constantly reminding him what he did, we never lost our love for him. There's multiple sides to every story, remember--and I sincerely believe that, under the right circumstances, no one is irredeemable.

I miss the downvote button.
I could go for this, just because I like Arvo, he seemed pretty resourceful given how he seemed to be hotwiring the truck.
I think it would be an interesting story
That would be silly, good sir or ma'am. Few people actually like Mike now after the shit he pulled. If it was a raccoon eating simulator and you would play as Mike, I would buy it. Otherwise, meh.
Raccoon Hunter, yes.
