Did **** Know...

That his sister was a walker when Clementine shot her? Depending on how the confrontation with Mike goes it makes it seem like Arvo shoots her out of fear, or to avenge his sister. I played where he ends up shooting her after she gives up so it really makes it look like he was doing it for revenge, and considering all the death glares he was giving Clementine beforehand, I don't find it hard to believe. But I spent the entire episode thinking it was so stupid of him to be mad about something like that, seeing as his sister was already gone he had no reason to irrationally hate Clem the way he did.

But then I found this; http://croatoangirl080114.tumblr.com/post/95966381606/i-havent-seen-this-theory-anywhere-else-so-i

This theory is not mine. This is something I found on tumblr and wanted to share here and see if you guys found it to be plausible. Repeat, it is not mine. (...Are we allowed to do that? Post things other people have written to see what you guys think? I don't know. I'm just going to post it down here in case you don't follow the link for whatever reason.)

"I haven’t seen this theory anywhere else, so I thought I’d share. Under the cut for spoilers.

So. I want to talk about The Walking Dead Game. Specifically, Arvo.

I get that a lot of people are pissed at him for shooting Clem. But hear me out here, okay? I thinkI have somewhat of an explanation.

In the beginning of episode 5, we see him desperately trying to revive his sister, who’d been shot. However, Kenny pulls him away to use as a hostage. Keep in mind, Arvo’s probably only seeing what’s going on behind him out of the corner of his eye, and that’s while he’s struggling to get away from Kenny. So it’s very likely that what he thinks is going on an what’s actually going on are two entirely different things.

What he probably thinks is going on, based on his limited viewpoint, is that his sister regained consciousness and is trying to get up and crawl to safety or something. Because, honestly, I doubt he can hear the walker noises she’s making over all the shouting and gunshots, and he definitely can’t see her face very clearly.

It’s incredibly likely that he doesn’t know she’s turned and thinks that she’s still alive. And based on this, it would appear - from his point of view - that Clem just decided to shoot her for not good reason.

As far as we know, it was never explained to him as otherwise. Therefore, as far as HE knows, Clementine killed her in cold blood.

Just thought I’d put this out there."

I actually could sort of buy into this theory. If this is indeed accurate, then Lilly and Arvo's situations are similar. (Earlier I said they were not because nobody knew for sure if Larry was 100% dead and I earlier assumed that every character involved in the shooting of his sister was aware she was a walker.) I'm not going to say that if this idea is true that it excuses his shooting of Clementine because it still pisses me off that he did that but like I said, I think this theory makes some sense.

Why would his sister crawl away when he was being held at gunpoint? She seemed concerned about his safety enough to come out with him when they first stuck up the group. At the very least you'd think she would make a grab at Kenny instead (and probably still end up dead for her troubles but that would've been more believable, IMO).

But while we're on the subject of Arvo was anyone else able to talk to him at the little fenced in area? There was a prompt to talk to him but when Clem walks over a cutscene with group starts up instead.

  • Maybe because she was shot in the chest/shoulder area and with that injury if she were alive it would be hard to get up, and she wasn't crawling away, she was crawling towards Kenny/Arvo to bite them and that's why Clementine shot her in the first place. But If Arvo wasn't aware that she was a walker he wouldn't know that.

  • Watch the scene again. She is clearly crawling towards Clem and the baby.

  • I don't think he saw her turn into a Walker. Either way he was obviously traumatized by the sight of his sister getting shot.

  • ...Yep. She's crawling towards them, I guess I forgot that.

I think that's precisely why Arvo shoots Clem.

It's understandable, but I still hate him for it.

Funny thing is, if Kenny hadn't pulled him away to use as a hostage, Arvo would have kept trying to resuscitate her. She would have turned and attacked him. And then Clem would have the option to save him or not.

I wish that had happened instead.

Interesting but still it does not change the fact that Arvo is a total prick or simply put a moron . I said this in another coment befor but i will say it again Arvo is a huge fucking moron and i feel sorry Kenny didn't kill him . Why ? simple , when i meet Arvo the first time I belived his storry about his sick sister and let him keep the madicine bag (that he stole from his ppl most likely ) , and he left with the bag of meds with him , Jane only keept the gun , and then when Arvos gang suround Clems group he tells the russians that Clem robbed him , wich was a big lie , but he still said it . He could say that someone else robbed him but he did not say anything , even when Kenny told Arvo to tell his men to put the guns down and talk about it , Arvo ignored him and continued on with the lie that Clem stole from him . So in the end the death of his siter is all on his hands , he has no reson to hate anyone for the death that HE caused . Well this is my oppinon , no hate intended.
