Clem in season 3 Confirmed or some kind of continuation in this vid for season 3!?

  • I agree with you. However, the point of S1 for me, until it dawned on me that Lee's going to die, was more protecting Clem, rather than training her.
Unplayable Clem/new protagonist is in my view things Telltale's not going to do.

  • Yeah, well it's difficult task because there are so many possibilities, so many choices in both season 1 and 2 that could create her attitude in season 3. There are multiple endings for season 2 sure but there is no such thing as impossible. I mean we might think that something is impossible but it's not. It might be only difficult to achieve. If (and I'm saying if) Telltale would want to continue Clementine's story and make her protagonist again then they have a lot of time (year or two) to solve this thing with multiple endings.

Of course seeing her as non-playable character would be also interesting but something tells me it won't happened. Either Telltale will continue her story or create new one, in my opinion. :)

  • Well, let's hope that they continue her story! :) I believe that it would be a huge mistake for them to start all over with a new story. I think 2 seasons aren't enough to do justice to this character who still means a lot to a great majority of people.

  • Exactly! If they can manage to make different endings, why wouldn't they be able to make different openings?

Yeah, I think so too but this is just our theories, unfortunately. Nothing official until Telltale will say something and it won't happen in the near future. Like I said I see two options here - Clementine's story and she as protagonist or new character and new story. It could be also new character and Clem's story but like I said it would mean Clementine will be non-playable character and I highly doubt it'll happen. At least that's what I think. ;)

  • IMO they can pul, off a clem protag a lot better than S2, S2 was too soon imo, she was still to young, it felt silly at times playing her and doing the stuff you did (wind turbine is just one example) but season 3 could be good with clem, she will be grown up and a well vetted surviver... I wish season 2 had gone with another protagonist but hey ho.. season 3 could work well tho...

  • I wouldn't be ok with another protag. But I do believe that's what Telltale was going for, making us more excited than ever to continue Clem's story :D

I would be ok with another protagonist, but after the multiple endings, I'm more excited about playing as Clementine in season 3 now than ever.

I hope we'll get to see her as a young teenager by Season 3 - perhaps 12 or 13 years old. If that were the case, then that'd be enough time for any of her determinant endings to have turned out for the worse: Wellington fell apart or kicked her out, Kenny died while she was out in the wilderness, the father that Jane either let in or turned away decided to kill Jane and kick out Clem, and so on. I still think it'd be interesting for us to play as Christa and have Clem interact with her as deuteragonist - their interactions would differ depending on how you played Clem in Season 2.

I hope the family seen in Jane's ending does play a role. it's only in Jane's ending that you ever see a boy around Clem's age, and I'm sure some of you might find that fact significant...

  • Yeah that boy is probably a psycho

  • I also hope we get to play Clementine in S3.

I assume it would be really hard to have her in the story as a NPC cuz everyones version of Clem was different. Haha, can you imagine the outraged yelling of "Well, MY Clem wouldnt say/do that!"

I hope they continue with Clem or that even if she's no longer the playable character, she's at least present in the story in some capacity.

  • Most likely less psycho than the paranoid folks who assume everyone they don't know are psychos. ;)

If you turn them away, the boy is the only one who looks at Clem - with sadness and betrayal. If you let them in, the boy tries to befriend you. In The Zombie Apocalypse(tm), you need friends. Children need friends more than anyone else.

  • I can't believe I am going to have to wait until the end of 2015 to get season 3 :( Unless DLC for season 2 gives us a hint... Will there even be season 2 DLC??

  • If 400 days sold well I think it's very possible... oh well. Walking Dead pinball it is until then :(

  • Exactly as i said.

That's becausde a season 3 with Clem as protagonist is nearly impossible. It's much more possible that the story will shift to Bonnie, Mark and Arvo just after they have left the group. Or, switch to someone completely new

they are going to HAVE to choose one ending above the others, and start from there. That'd be probly the best choice to piss most people off, lulz.

  • Dragon age origins was different. Each opening was not based on something happened before in another game, nor where those openings related to eachother in any way.

Also immediately after the ending, we see Clem (and eventual follower) in too many different situations. With Kenny they go to wellington, with the girl, they go back at Carver's settlement. With Clem alone, we don't know where she is.

There is absolutely no way they can justify one main plotline from openings that are so distant in space. What would they pull off to make the Clem that went to Carver's turn back north towards wellington, or the duo Clem/Kenny go back south?

To make something like that would just force the plot without any real reason, nor explanation whatsoever.

  • I think that they should have a DLC before season 3 that has a different story depending on what you chose at the end of season 2. Either its about Clem and AJ on there own or Clem/Kenny/AJ together or Clem/Jane/AJ. In each story you play as Clem and you try and survive with whoever you are with (but all three stories will be different). At the end of the DLC either Kenny or Jane dies both in a different way depending on who you chose. Now no matter what decision you made at the end of season 2 the DLC will end with Clem and AJ (maybe finding a group or a community at the end), but the best thing was that you got the chance to play the DLC with either Kenny or Jane by your side so your choice really did matter. Then in season 3 Clem can mention either Kenny or Jane (whoever you choose) as the person who helped her and AJ survive.

  • God I hated you Arvo....I hope there's no 400 days, it's just a hunt for Arvo...

    =D

  • Thank you for posting this. Am very much hoping that Clem is the protagonist in Season 3, and it sounds like they are at least strongly considering that as an idea.

She's a wonderful character, if not my favorite then easily in my top 3 favorite videogame characters of all time.

  • ... you spend the first 10-30 min making any and every situation you end up in go to shit and in a desperate struggle for survival she ends up in a common plot point.

  • No they wouldn't.

One way to do it would be to DLC each ending to a common plot point.

Another way would be to open S3 without an initial time skip, 4 different brief openings that point to a common plot point (billions of ways to write this, millions of which could be good).

  • Season 3 should have the 400 days characters have a bigger role I didn't pay for 400 days but still they can't just abandon them.

  • Meh I was more interested in the side characters of 400 days like Nate and Eddie, I would like to see them in season 3... Ok maybe Nate is pushing it but Eddie would be awesome.

    ^ This. Exactly this.

I am fairly confident Clem will be protaginist of season 3 again and rightly so! I believe each ending will result in a different opening in which Jane/Kenny will be killed off for good and then there may be a slight time skip to get everyone to the same point.

My theory is Clem (and AJ) will end up at Wellington. It's been talked about for so long it makes sense.

    • In Kennys ending they didn't have room for 3 of them but were willing to accept Clem and AJ so they are either there already or nearby and they did say to check back so it would make sense for Clem to go back if Kenny is no longer around.
    • If Clem is on her own she has no problem getting into Wellington. She just needs to find the camp.
    • Now Janes ending is the only one that doesn't quite tie into this as Howes isn't anywhere near Wellington but I'm thinking she'll retrace her steps either alone or with the family. I'm not sure how long the family will last but I have a feeling they'll be inside the Wellington camp if they were turned away at Howes.
