I'm sorry what are you talking about? I'm not saying that it's the same situation because Clementine will be protagonist again. I'm saying it's the same situation because after season 1 fans talked about possible protagonist (Molly, Kenny, Clem, Christa etc.) and now we discussed about this once again (Clem once more, new character etc.).
So I don't know what do you mean by saying "don't get your hopes up" because I'm not saying "Clem will be next protagonist". I hope but we'll see. Anyway! I'm saying "after season 2 fans could talk about who, in their opinion, will be the next protagonist of season 3".
Clem's story being over is far from a sure thing in my opinion. It's entirely possible for Telltale to continue her story in season 3 even with the multiple endings.
Clementine is the main character of the series. Even when we played as Lee, it was Clem's story not Lee's. Her story is not over, there is still so much to explore with her. For that reason, no her story isn't over
Not true. Season 1 was both Lee's and Clementine's story but she was always the center of this game. With Lee gone it's her story now or at least it was in season 2. We still don't know if she'll be protagonist for season 3 but I hope so. ^^

Well, in my case I did the alone ending not because I wanted to become like Jane, but because I didn't want to be with Jane. I think my Clem would join a group if she found a good one.
Neither of them are good for a permanent end to her story afaik, haven't played the Jane ones yet, but tbh her alone and both Kenny endings leave the story wide open.
When she's alone or with Kenny, you could just think they survive but things aren't always that simple, the past two seasons showed us that. Then they could've ended S1 too you know, if you thought like: Hey those two people on the hills must be Omid and Christa, Clem just meets up with them and they survive happily ever after! You need to go out of your way to specifically think like that. I get the same vibe from the Clem alone with AJ/with Ken and AJ endings.
The one where she gets into Wellington doesn't provide enough closure imo, as it could very easily not be a safe place.
While I haven't played the Jane endings yet myself, but as far as I've heard there's plenty of room to continue there too, possibly being the ending with the biggest immediate threat to their safety, with the family and the gun.
Everyone acts like it's a bad thing having multiple endings to continue the story. It doesn't necessarily need to be, Telltale has said they'd like to branch the story more and they have the perfect opportunity to do so now. It would require more work, sure, but they have grown as a company and can take their time. They're probably already working on it, at least a bit.
To me Telltale has proven to be perfect when it comes to making games, having made the three best pieces of entertainment ever imo, in a row no less. Have a little faith in Telltale, I believe they can do it, and they do too if the spoilercast episode is something to go on (which I believe it is, don't think they'd lie to just have us speculating)

I don't know why some people are against a new season with a new set of characters. We all managed to fall in love with Lee with only one season (and still revere him in the second season where he isn't even alive. I mean, how many of us cried at his appearance in Clem's dream?). There's no reason why they wouldn't be able to do it again, successfully. After this great season finale, I have complete trust in Telltale.
However, I would like to see some characters from season's 1 and 2 make appearances and for there to be a time overlap with the new cast story.
Also, if they continue with Clementine, I have a dreadful feeling that she'll die. And honestly I don't think I can handle seeing one of my favorite character's go through the pain and anguish of living in the walking dead universe for another 5 episodes. Since we all know, there aren't any happy endings in this world. No one dies of old age in peace surrounded by friends and family here. So, I'm satisfied with my Clem ending.
Do you really think that Clem's story is goin to end up just like that? Jesus are you people crazy. First of all, all of the endings are not finished and we couldnt find out what happened after Clem left with Kenny/Jane or alone, it's just not goin to be like that, that they left and everyithing was okay. If u think that it;s the end of the Clem's story then why they introduced to a family into Jane's ending? Why they just didnt finished it with two girls and baby surviving the apocalypse? This is what I'm talking about plus why they introduced us to AJ? Why they would left us with AJ and didnt tell us what happens after? This is the main reason why Clementine's story is not over, it's just beginning, because we'll see what happened to AJ how's he doin' and how Clementine's surviving. Believe me guys, her story is not over, Telltale studio is not goin to go so cheap and they will lose a lot of money by the way, because everybody is so attached to Clementine right now, that it just would be dumb to introduce some new character to the game.

I think it'd be pretty easy to keep Clem if it jumped a few years. She would just narrate her past differently.
