To all those who say your choices don't change anything

edited August 2014 in The Walking Dead

You're missing the point. Yes, the general plot is the same in all playthroughs. This is a strength of the game because it keeps the story focused. But what really matters is the relationships between the characters, and every choice you make will influence what someone thinks of you.

Did you not feel something when you saved one character over another? Did you not feel something when you made a promise to someone and let them down later? Did you not feel something when a character makes a reference to your earlier mistakes? TWD is full of choices - hard choices. And they're hard choices because they will have a great impact on how people perceive you - and who you become in the game.

Indeed, the five endings to season two can all be chosen right at the end of the last episode. But the reason why people argue about the "right" or the "wrong" ending is because they believe the accumulation of all their personal choices in the game led them to believe their ending is the only definitive one. Whichever ending you chose was probably not based on anyone's opinions on this forum - it was based on your gut feeling. And you have that gut feeling because your ending is the right ending - for your Clementine. That's why every choice in the game matters. You might not even realise it, but with every choice you are forming your perception of the characters just as much as they are with you.

I hope that makes sense... what do you think?
