Do you guys really think he meant it that he wants Clementine and AJ to stay at Wellington or is he saying that just to convince them to stay at Wellington? What are your thoughts?
My opinion is that he's only saying that to convince them to stay but also doesn't want to leave their side. Kenny, being a good person and not being selfish, is trying to protect them and keep them safe.

I think he wants them to stay in Wellington.
Would he like to keep Clementine and AJ around? Sure. He would feel more at peace with himself if he knew they were safe, though. You don't know what Wellington is like, but it seems like a much safer bet than walking around in the cold with no supplies or food. He's putting their needs and safety above his own.
