Season 2 DLC (Mike, Nate, Tavia)

edited August 2014 in The Walking Dead

I'm guessing Telltale will give Season 2 some kind of extra content or DLC because it will probably not be out for a little while. We need something to hold us over, right? Telltale could do another multiple story thing like 400 Days or something completely different. I have a few ideas I could see happening.

1. DLC following Tavia and others after escaping from Howe's Hardware

This idea is more based off speculation and hopes that they continue with the existing 400 days characters because we do not have much evidence. But I do have one piece of evidence. You never see Tavia or the 400 days character's bodies! You can actually see Tavia and several other guards still shooting in Episode 4. Maybe this could be where our 400 Days choices could come into play? Maybe this DLC would focus on not just Tavia's story, but others, like the 400 days DLC. Maybe 4 or 5 stories each told from a different person who tried to get out of Carver's community and they all meet up at the end, mirroring 400 days?

2. DLC following Mike (Bonnie) and Arvo

This DLC story would pick after Mike (Bonnie) and Arvo's separation from the group. I put Bonnie in parenthesis because she can determinately die in Episode 5. I was thinking before it could be played from any of their point if views. But then it was found that Mike was originally kill-able in an early stage of Episode 5. The fact that Telltale took the time out to make sure Mike couldn't die at all in the episode made me wonder, and now I'm thinking we'll play as Mike, because Telltale has to have something planned for him. There is a small chance we could play as Arvo, but I find this a lot less likely. This DLC seems very likely now that we know that Mike can not die in any way in Season 2. I imagine it would pick up very shortly after they escape when Arvo shoots Clementine. Maybe they will start heading south to Mexico or Texas like Mike suggested, or maybe we can choose where we would want to go next.

3. (BONUS) Nate

Seeing Nate and his truck again would be so much fun. Crazy things would happen! Imagine the dialogue choices of a playable Nate. Would be nice to see Walking Dead have a more light-hearted episode after that emotionally awesome finale, in my opinion.

Tell me what you think of Season 2 DLC below. Which idea if mine do you like the best? Which idea is the most likely? Do you have any suggestions for a Season 2 DLC?

  • We never actually see any of Tavia's or the 400 Days characters' corpses.

  • Good point! I'll add that.

  • Edited OP

    • How Wellington got established
    • How Sam the dog's family died/went missing
    • What happened with Christa and Clementine during those 16 months
    • A 400 Days-like DLC about what happened before the cabin group all met up together
    • Jane and Jamie back story

I just really want a prequel tbh. I like your Howe's Hardware idea though!

Thanks!!! I like the Sam the Dog one a lot! Good way to tie it to the game and it would make you want to play Ep 1 again!

Also, you just gave me an idea. How about a DLC where we play as Christa after we get separated from Clem! And you'd have to take care of the stabbed leg if that happened to her in Season 2 Ep1

    * How Wellington got established * How Sam the dog's family died/went missing * What happened with Christa and Clementine during those 16

  • Also, Howes was stacked with food. When Jane and Clem get there, Jane mentions there not being enough supplies. Maybe the 400 days characters made with the food?

  • Wellington would be another great one! I can imagine a lot of times lips in that story.

  • That's true! Also, the only body shown was Carver's. And when Clem and Jane were on the roof, I didn't see any signs of walkers of corpses up there. Maybe Tavia escaped!!

I thought the voices of the family were actually the 400 Days group and that we'd either fight/threaten them or join them. Any of those DLC sound good :3 Those and anything with Clem, Christa and Omid, Clem and Christa or Christa during S2. Backstories for S2 characters also though

  • Thanks! Good ideas.

  • Tell me if I should add any DLC ideas to the OP!

  • Also, it seems there are absolutely no walkers left when Clem and Jane come back... Strange.

  • Mike gets shot by Clem if the time runs out, so he's determinant too.

  • Are you sure? I thought this was only possible on the ps3 version? And they already patched that so you can't anymore. Do you have a video?

  • I want everyone to run into Nate and his truck at least once. Nate may as well be one of my favorite characters in the whole game. (I love him so much, but if I was in the apocalypse walking down the road and he came up to me in that fucking truck I'd probably be terrified.)

It would be even funnier if Arvo ran into him or something. (A fate worse than death.)

A DLC about what happened to Sam would be interesting. It would be funny if we could play as the dog but that would be really hard to pull off so I doubt they'd do that.

Out of the three who can possibly run away from Kenny, Arvo is the only one who isn't determinant, if you count that at one point, Mike was determinant. It is significant that Arvo was never determinant but it is also significant that Mike was brought out of determinant status so I could see us playing as either one. (Would Mike and Bonnie even stay with him after what he did?)

  • A Nate* worse than death.

Also, I second the notion of having a more lighthearted DLC this time around. These last two seasons have been pretty emotionally taxing, so a breather episode before Season 3 breaks my heart would be most welcomed.

  • Nate for a DLC?

No, no, no, no, no. That's not how this works. Nate should be the season 3 protagonist!

  • i think the tavia group got eaten by the zombis thats why maybe we dont see there bodies?

  • I like the way you think!

I just wish they would finaly do something with the 400 days characters.

  • I just want more TWD.....don't really care what the DLC might be about, I just want it. Got my money right here.

  • Good thinking, TKA.

  • Yes. Saved Kenny and left Wellington with him.

Bittersweet ending. Also my favorite one. But I like your ending too

  • And maybe a DLC about Christa escaping the scavengers...

  • Nate's a total psychopath, I tried to shoot him the instant he suggested I take the gun (in my mind that part of the DLC ended then & there).

It was Nate that was chasing the dope-heads in the other episode of the 400 days DLC.

Nate's a bit too larger than life and too chaotic to be part of the main story.

I liked the 400 days DLC. It had a lot more realism than the main story; something episode 5 really lacked. I'm not going to say it was too surreal because I love that kind of surrealism but it was confusing to the point of being a bit mind-blowing. Like they'd entered the Silent Hill region of the Twilight Zone.
