What was Jane trying to tell Clem before Kenny got the truck working?

edited August 2014 in The Walking Dead

The scene starts with Clem saying, "There's not much left (talking about the food for AJ). Then Jane tells a story about her running with some people long time ago. And a guy got trapped in the middle of a cross walk, he got stuck under a car hiding from a dozen walkers. One after another, the people went down there trying to save him, they lost 4 people before they got him out, they didn't find out 'till later he was already bit. He turned and ripped the neck right out of an old lady. The look on her face was...She was just staring up at the sky, like she was watching a bird.

Then she says, "Look Clem..." and the engine starts.

  • I think she was trying to say that Kenny wasn't savable.

  • Sometimes it just isn't worth it to try and save one person if it means more will die as a result.

  • The way I saw it, she was trying to say that there is only so much you should sacrifice for one person. AJ is important, but to lay it all on the line for just AJ (Kenny's main argument for trying to find Wellington in the harsh cold) would jeopardize the lives of everyone else.

Maybe she was trying to explain why she didn't want Clem to save Luke during the lake-scene, knowing that Clem would have probably died too?
I remember her saying "stop, stop!" during that scene..
Or she didn't want Clem to feel guilty for what happened to Luke..
But she could also be talking about Kenny.

  • "Look Clem, everyone's luck runs out. I know you care about Kenny, but you can't always save the people you love."

  • "Look Clem... Dead Man Walking!!!"
"Look Clementine, I have ideea. Let hide baby and let see Kenny reaction."

    now serios...

"Look Clementine, Kenny is a great guy but is insane, reckless, reckless get people kill."

  • "Look Clem... Kenny already lost and we all know it,and he will always drag you down to the point where your life is in danger,we need to find the right moment to leave him,you can't expect him to return with all he's been through."
