Question to Kenny lovers.
First, I'm not a Kenny lover, or a Jane lover. If it's important, I shot Kenny and left without Jane. I am just simply boggled by reading all these threads about Kenny vs. Jane and I'd like some input. This discussion is simply for his actions in Season 2.
I'd really like help in understanding why people can be so defensive to a man who is constantly berating, insulting, condescending, among a slew of other things to damn near EVERYONE he meets, including Clementine! His unwillingness to compromise is literally the reason people tried to leave, get killed, fight amongst each other, be afraid of him, etc. I can't even list all the bullshit.
Sure, sure. Kenny had some good qualities, I'm not going to deny that. He took a beating for Clementine. He got that truck started. He looked after AJ. I'm even having trouble naming any more.
I think the thing that got me the most, is that scene in the truck with Jane. Everyone saying it's her fault. She picked on him. She got ( depending on your choice ) what was coming to her. I just... WHAT? That bitch was the only one with enough balls to call him out on his bullshit!!! She didn't insult his family first. He flat out called her nothing. Who antagonized who first? Aside from their banter calling each other assholes and whatever, he's the one who made it personal.
Jane: "Fuck you! You don't know a damn thing about me."
Kenny: "Oh, I know exactly what you are. Nothin'. Nobody cares about you, and you don't care about nobody but yourself. That makes you nothin'."
Yeah, I'd make it personal after that shit, too. He doesn't know her past, what she suffered through, what she had to do to survive. Hell, we don't even know the whole story. Cue more banter, she mentions his family, he threatens to KILL HER, she says fuck this let me out. He can sure dish it out but can't take it. Etc, etc, she hid the baby and wanted to show Clementine how batshit Kenny was ( which was just effing' stupid. ) Now he already threatened to kill her, and he wasn't playin'.
So I guess my real question is why anyone would defend a man like that? Is it because we've known him so long? I just really can't see a connection there. His shortcomings far outweigh any good he's ever done for Clementine. He never listens to her, will flat out ignore her plight for peace because he can't see past his own fury, puts her in constant danger ( to be fair, everyone does ), and even berates her for being honest about the future and her wishes.
So, yeah. I shot him and left without Jane. Her plan was stupid and reckless, all to get me to see what I already knew. Clementine is better off without either of them, she's got a good head on her shoulders.
Please feel free to discuss! I'd like to know your reasons for defending Kenny, if you did.

Oh no, you didn't write that XD
run away, hurry!
THEY're coming!
Objection!
Hold it! :P
The reason I followed Kenny was because he's one of the only (known) living members of S1 that remembers Lee other then Clem. I'm one of those people that put a lot of trust into someone because we've went though a lot together. I know that Kenny's mental health is nonexistent in S2 sometimes, but he's always had his heart in the right place.
i spend an entire season + 3 episodes with kenny and only knew jane for 2 episodes. That was enough for me to stay with kenny honestly.
you already posted that, you already posted that everywhere
I'm not a Kenny fan or Jane fan I am a Luke fan (even though he's dead;() but it seems like you are more of a Jane fan judging by your post (not hating) I think they like him because he was with us since season 1 and he acts like a 'badass' sometimes, he obviously cares about Clementine aswell and the ending with him in Wellington made me respect him because he basically said 'I don't care what happens to me I just want Clementine and the baby to be safe' after that I thought wow Kenny that's such a nice thing to do. I agree his antics can be very cold and he can be degrading which is why I was never fully pro Kenny but the guy will risk his life for those he cares about you have to admit and that loyalty is nice in the walking dead.:3
I'm a Lee fan Lol. And I liked Jane for an episode, but the last one certainly wasn't it. She was just grasping at straws, I think. And I couldn't get on board with that.
I like and agree with the you about the ending with him at Wellington. I watched a video of it and had the same thought as you. Kenny's loyalty to those he cared about is nice in a game like TWD, but ugh I just couldn't get past all the other stuff! I wish everyone could have gotten along!
Here's my take on Kenny.
He fixes an RV, Lilly steals it. He fixes a boat, Vernon steals it. He fixes a truck, Bonnie, Mike, and Arvo try to steal it. He goes off to get diesel for the truck, Jane convinces Clem to steal it.
Seriously?
Kill Kenny - this is a demonstration of the failure to analyze the situation correctly and make decisions accordingly. But a perfect demonstration of how to just go the easy way out of the situation imposed by means of provocation on the part. Real person, Kenny, demonstrated not when he learned that the child whom he loved died, and when he asked to leave the child and Clem in Wellington.
I defend Kenny, even though he has his flaws.
Kenny can sometimes come over as insulting. Especially the recent episodes since Sarita's death got him emotionally scarred for the second time. But if you look through all this, he'll do what's best for the group, and would risk his life for Clementine aswell as for AJ. He's strong as fuck, mentally aswell as physically. And when you're about to say "hurr durr wot you mean mentally look hes depressed". No shit, look at the shit he just got through, S1 and S2.
Mainly because he cares for Clementine so much it made me tear up. I liked Jane until she pulled off that stunt in that situation.
I'm a Lee fan too! #LeeForever hehe, and yeah I didn't like what Jane did it was stupid and it got people killed but I know she didn't think that he would go that far (although she didn't help by provoking him) and I dislike some of the things Kenny did in both seasons too so I will never be pro Kenny or pro Jane which is why I try to avoid threads that are pro Kenny or Jane and stick to ones about Luke or Lee or Clementine (the dream trio;3)
I can respect your opinion. I think one of the major problems I have with Kenny is that we know so much of his story; we're automatically set up to believe he's had it the worst out of everyone. And I think that is kinda unfair. To us, anyway. I'd like to know more about the other characters, and all of their trials and tribulations. Of course Kenny is strong mentally and physically, who could have gotten out of that mess in Georgia after Ben?
As far as doing what's best for the group, I can't agree. He always believed his idea was always the correct one; without gathering any input from the other capable people around him. Including Clementine. These are peoples lives he's gambling with, and he couldn't take into consideration that they may have an opinion about it. They were just wrong and stupid if they disagreed.
I really liked your input on your decision!
It's you!
I thought you were dead...
Who cares what he says, it matters what he does. He took a beating for Clementine, or did you forget.
Kenny is love.Kenny is life. Its simple.
I mentioned that in my original post.
Don't forget his son gets bitten, his wife kills herself right in front of him, and he sees his girlfriend get chomped on.
Well, I'm back bitches;) joking, haha I was never dead just asleep ~ like Luke is doing right now!;3
Obviously! He was just a little tired.
He will be back!
Mark my words!
Well the sleep did help , but then i woke up and I realised we're still taking a beating , everyday.
Quit with the generalizing.
He just needed his beauty sleep; he hasn't had any since arriving at the ski lodge since he had to walk all that way to get the group back;D well, I lost Luke too, so don't be an asshole and pretend that your the only one who lost him D; ;3
thank you .)
Then let's look at just a few actions:
He wasted time murdering Carver,
He needlessly beat a teenage kid,
He yelled at a little girl, because he neglected to protect his girlfriend in a horde,
He neglected to protect his girlfriend in a horde,
He refused to listen to everyone else in his group when they wanted to discuss the plan for the future, insisting that he had fixed the truck, so he just got to decide - this was the final thing, that made the group split up.
He needs his beauty sleep because he's a regular casanova
I don't understand why Kenny gets so much hate, after all the things he did for Clementine. What do you think Carver would have done to her if she given up the radio? She potentially already was in trouble for not doing the work in the Greenhouse. That would be strike two, and well... I think after the second mistake Carver would just let go, like Reggie.
I never gave two shits about Jane. In my opinion she is a bitch who got what she deserved. She shot Troy in the dick, we could have taken him with us. He was looking like he could come around, and she just shot him. After that moment i knew what a person she really was, a manipulative evil mental case.
If you decide to wait around in episode 4 when Rebecca has the baby. Jane takes off the first day, are we supposed to believe that she just shows up magically at the gun shootout, you would think she be miles away, but no. She was stalking the group to get Clementine. It was all manipulation to turn Clementine into the next Jamie.
And a lonely, survivalist girl starts bashing his family and saying that none of those ever loved him and then fakes the death of a baby.
That would get on any normal person's nerves.
He's a regular casanova even without the beauty sleep;o just sayin'
Haha, I feel bad for spamming this thread with Luke stuff since it has nothing to do with him;3
Everyone must know about luke and his awesomeness!
Look at his brand new face!
Can everyone stop the "Kenny VS Jane" God, They're both insane.
Jane: Provoked a man she knew was very unstable to prove a point
Kenny: He's very stubborn, has a very short temper, and goes off assumptions
See? They BOTH have flaws
haha, it's to recruit new members for the Luke riot huh? c;
Yep , we gonna need a helluva lot more than three people.
Of course we're all entitled to have different views, I just see the number of shit Kenny pulled to outweigh the good stuff. As far as what I think Carver would have done to Clementine, I have no idea.
Shooting a man in the dick is a pretty personal thing. Why not opt to just shoot him in the face? The fact that she chose his dick to shoot off looks like there was some longstanding issue there regarding sex. And of course Troy looked to be coming around. He wanted to LIVE. Would you really want that dude in your group?
I don't think Jane was stalking the group. I think her attachments to the group she was feeling caused to her to hang around and think on it longer; so she was able to be close to the gunfight.
absolutely;)
Sometimes you have to weed the garden to, make sure the flowers stay safe.
You neglected the fact that he tried to steal from the group, by gunpoint. Thieves are pretty much slow killers in the ZA, did you forget what Lilly said. "They're killing us slowly, what if Clementine gets sick and dies because she doesn't have the proper medication." I agree with Lilly.
Who cares? Kenny was raging like a Cajun. It was understandable why he was mad, his girlfriend was going to die. Clementine just lost his eye protecting that girl, and your crying about how he hurt her feelings.
HE fixed the truck. Kenny Fixed the truck, that makes the truck his. Mike didn't fix the truck, Jane didn't fix the truck. Kenny Fixed the truck. Kenny has one goal and that was to keep the kid safe. Kenny decided to take the truck he fixed to Wellington.
And he takes the beating for Clem at Camp Carver, which results in "possible psychological damage."
Did you know that there are air bubbles sometimes under water?
So if you're lucky you can survive for a prolonged time.
Wait...
Could it be true?
LUKE CONFIRMED FOR SEASON 3
Every character has their flaws in this game, no one said otherwise.
Why not? Things aren't so black and white.
Lee was a convicted killer. Did that make him a bad man?
Bonnie was a user did she not deserve a second chance (before the betrayal)
You mean Clementine right? She wanted to ditch everyone. The first thing she says to you alone is that your friends are pretty much going to get you killed, you should hang out with me and we can play Sister pals.
