Most shocking/tragic moments

edited August 2014 in The Walking Dead

So I was thinking it would be interesting to know which were the moments that shocked/emotionally wrecked you the most. You know, when you said to yourself "Damn, Telltale...".
Because those are the reasons why we all love The Walking Dead so much, right ? And we can discuss about it too (please no war in the comments).

So for me, here they are :

  1. Lee's death. Yeah, I mean, come on. That's something you're not going to forget - I still get the feels every time I think about it.
  2. Kenny's death. Man, that had to be the single most difficult choice I ever made in a game. Both outcomes were horrible,
  3. Luke's death. Season 2 episode 5 really was hard on the feels...

So, those three are for sure. The following two are more tied up with the rest :

4: Omid's death. Great way to start a season, Telltale... certainly didn't expect that.

5: Seeing that guy crawling without his legs in Season 1 Episode 2. When the awful realization dawns on you...

So, these didn't make it into the top 5, but they're close : the Carley/Doug death (in retrospect, it was obvious they were going to die, but I didn't know it at the time ;_;), chopping off your arm or not (I chopped it) and Nick shooting the guy on the bridge (never really forgave him - goddamnit, Nick).

What about you ?

  • I was not expecting Luke's death at all

after choosing to cover luke, bonnie was like

Luke wait lemme haul my fatass over there so we can both die!

  • Yeah, I still regret there was no option to shoot Bonnie when she started to move towards Luke. And SHE blamed ME to top it off. She's on my top 2 list of people who I would shoot on sight with my Clementine (still unclear who is first, Arvo or her ?).

  • Definitely Luke's death. Everyone else's death I could see coming, but Luke was so sudden, I expected him to live or be determinant in something like a Luke vs Kenny fight. Instead he died terrified, either getting dragged down or suffocated/froze to death.

  • Arvo at least had a reason to be pissed off, Bonnie had absolutley nothing. i mean its not like clem went

"LOL bye luke" for bonnie to be there clem has to smash the ice to try and save him

  • 5: Seeing that guy crawling without his legs in Season 1 Episode 2. When the awful realization dawns on you...

...That Mark fell down the stairs...

  • 1: Lee's death

    2: Kenny's death

3: Clementine getting shot by Arvo

4: Lee getting bit by walker

^ 1 and 2 most tragic, 3 and 4 most shocking. I thought for a while that Clementine was going to die because it was so close to her heart.

  • Yeah, Clem getting shot, I didn't remember that x) Still sticking to my top 5, but that was shocking and had me scared for a minute (with the flashback and whatnot).

  • Yeah, how horrible was that ? Might have spoiled the meat !

    1. Lee's death
    2. Lee getting bitten
    3. Clem getting shot
    4. Kenny's death/staying at Wellington
    5. Omid's death
  • My opinion?

    1.Lee's death
    2.Katja and Duck's death
    3.Carley's death
    4.Jane's death
5.Luke's death tied with Omid's death

  • Heh, yea. When it happened i was like O.O, got goosebumps and i was shaking because i was SO scared about what happened, and that Clem could've died if it was about 1-2 cm below where it hit. I hate Arvo for that, and i lost respect for Mike and Bonnie for stealing our supplies and leaving us, even though they didn't want Clem to get shot.

  • Oooh yeah, Katja and Duck ! That would have to be on my top 5... I mean, having to shoot Duck so that Kenny didn't have to... and Kenny losing both members of his family in one day...

  • God this series had more than any other:

    In no order:

    • Lilly shooting Carley
    • Kat committing suicide
    • Lee getting bitten/dying
    • Omid dying
    1. Lee's death, naturally. Still miss that guy SO much.
    2. Larry's death. Because honestly, either way you do it, it is horrible. I tried to save him and it was CLEAR he was starting to breathe again...which made it all the more upsetting that Kenny killed him anyway. Even though he was a hot head most of the time, Larry was useful to the group.
    3. Katjaa and Duck. Terrible seeing a man's family die before his very eyes and I really liked them. :(
    4. Sarah's death. I tried SO HARD to save her every time, but it never mattered. It is never easy seeing someone die, but somehow it is just more upsetting when it involves a child.
    5. Luke's death. Again, either way it goes down, the outcome is awful - freezing to death or getting pulled down by a dumb walker.
    6. Chuck. He sacrificed himself to save a group he just met and for that, he needs an extra spot on my list. <3
  • Clem getting shot just got me, next is Luke's death.

  • Yeah, Chuck really deserves to be mentionned. One of the characters we knew the least (he was only in episode 3 and the beginning of episode 4...) but he was genuinely a good guy. And he gave Lee some good advice. Really sad to see him being eaten by walkers in the sewers after he sacrificed himself for everybody like that.
