Was TWDG supposed to take a turn for the Sci-Fi Genre?

Hello everyone,
Before i start let me say that i loved the whole season,especially episode 3 and 5.

As we know that episode 4 was re written,do you think that Telltale wanted to include some Alien involvement as in why the ZA started?
I mean like extra hubs or scenes where Clementine looks at a weird object;she would have no idea what it is,but it would give us,the players more understanding of the back story to what might have caused the Apocalypse.or maybe just weird noises at night,just to make the player understand that maybe there is something else out there...
Do you think in Season 3 we might discover what caused the apocalypse?

    Probably not, I've heard Kirkman isn't focused on how it started..

    No, Kirkman decides whether or not there are aliens involved, not Telltale, so it would have to happen in the comics first.
