Luke contradiction (ep. 4 & 5)

I was playing episodes 4 .& 5 and noticed that in his explanation of hooking up with Jane was it was the first time in a long time that he had been with a woman.

But in episode 5 at the birthday fire. Bonnie said "it worked on me" before looking away from Luke" and then apologizing . So Luke and Bonnie had hooked up in the past. It was kind of a messed up story telling to have him act love sick over Jane after one sexual encounter.

  • Well, the thing is we don't know to what extent Bonnie and Luke's relationship was, I know Luke's voice actor confirmed they had a past history, but it could've been that Bonnie just liked Luke, and Luke knew, but didn't return the feelings, and her saying "it worked on me" meant she just liked him...? Or they had broken up a long time ago, so he really hasn't been with a woman for a long time, or it just felt like a long time to him. I'm thinking the latter is the best possibility, but I did think it was odd to have the Bonnie thing appear in episode 5 after episode 4 happened though, because it would be strange that Luke would hook up with Jane if he and Bonnie could've still had something. I guess it was just to make Bonnie being an idiot on the ice make more sense, but I honestly didn't get the idea that Luke liked Bonnie as much as she liked him.

they have not seen each other in quiet a while or she just meant she had fallen for him.

  • I think bonnie just had a crush on him.

  • Well, she didn't go with them when they escaped Carver's, so obviously whatever they had didn't last, and I doubt it was rekindled in the short amount of time they were reunited in episode 3. And it had been quite a few months since then because Bonnie mentions Rebecca was just starting to show as they left. So even if he and Bonnie did have a relationship (which they may not have, it may have just been she had an unrequited crush), it had still been a very, very long time since they'd done anything physical.
