Because killing Carver wasn't part of the escape plan, and the hoard was still a big problem.
she wanted to escape carver and the forced labor, she wanted to go back since it was empty. Something Clem and Nick should've done and would've both raised the baby with kenny.
IT was her destiny, as the writers wrote her to participate in the escape in harm's way.
