Kenny and Clem in S1

I'm replaying S1 and want to make a list of the things they did which had something to do with each other. Here:

E1:

1.Kenny joked about spiders in hair when Clem said she felt itchy in the barn.

2.Kenny asked Lee if he need any help about Clem.

3.Kenny saved Lee, who Clem really cares about.

E2:

1.Kenny killed Larry, which scared Clem into tears.

2.Kenny raised the point that Clem may be able to get through the path behind the air conditioner if Lee didn't.

3.Kenny got a worried face (along with Lee) when Clem's journey throught that path sounded not good.

4.If Lee helped kill Larry, Kenny wound save Lee from Danny St. John. However I wonder if Clem knew that. She didn't come out until Lee decided whether to kill Danny.

5.Kenny stole the food, which Clem didn't agree.

6.Kenny was willing or unwilling to take Lee and Clem to the boat depending on whether Lee helped save Duck and which side he took.

E3:

1.Kenny asked Lee if "his girl" was still mad at taking the supplies from the car. From the available answers here we can see that Clem still was.

2.When getting on the train, Clem said "Duck is sick.". Kenny said "Get on the train Clememtine" with an angry tone.

3.Clem drew a picture of Kenny's family.

E4:

1.Kenny got a worried face (along with Lee) when Clem suddenly crawled through the doggie door.

2.Kenny was drinking and didn't seem to care when Lee was searching for Clem with anxiety.

3.Kenny didn't think that Clem shouldn't go to Crawford. (When Vernon said Clem shouldn't go with them, after Lee or Clem responsed to him, Kenny would say "You heard him/the lady, let's move on."

4.If Lee take Clem to Crawford, when Lee and Kenny came back to the classroom from searching for supplies, Clem welcomed them happily, saying "you're back!" and Kenny replied to her with smile "yeah, and we made out pretty good too." (PS. Clem was hoping everyone be okay at that time. She said she didn't want anyone to die on the stairs. And she also said she wanted Molly to be okay in the classroom.)

5.Kenny got angry when he knew that someone took Clem away, and called Vernon "son of a bitch" when Lee raised that it may be Vernon. But if you didn't side with him before, he still refused to help Lee finding her (I really wanna fuck his "I care about Clememtine and I'm a Christian man" here).

E5:

1.If Kenny went with Lee looking for Clem, Lee could tell him that once they got Clem on the boat, be sure that she wear a life jacket.

2.Kenny said that they will get Clem back with or without Lee, when they got stuck on the attic and he raised the "Larry stuff".

I think from these above, we can see that most of the time Kenny took Clem as "the girl with Lee". Whether he would do something for Clem depended on whether Lee would for him and his family. And for Clem, Kenny could do a lot of things which she didn't like. He can be a lifesaver or an asshole to Lee, the one she cared very much about. And she showd great pity and sympathy towards him for losing his family.

I think this all they got for each other in S1. Their relationship was mostly built in S2. At first, they may be just "some acquaintance from the old days" to each other. However they need someone from the old days, because they both lost those they cares at that time. Being with Clem gets Kenny the feeling that he was with his dear old family. He introduced Clem to Sarita as "my girl" (when in S1 he referred her to Lee as "your girl"). He can even accidently take Clem for Duck. For Clem Kenny may not be a replacement of Lee, but being with him can remind her of those days with Lee. Then the Carver shit happened, and soon after that Sarita was dead/bitten. I think it's after that that they started to take each other as "Clememtine" and "Kenny", not just "something from the old days".

And the last thing I want to say is, Kenny is really agreeable with Clem in S2. In E3 he said "it's Ok" if Clem didn't agree with his plan of "punch the first one I come across, grab his gun, and shoot the rest of the bastards" (stupid suicidal plan... if I was playing an adult I would try to stop him) , and he didn't get hurt if Clem agreed to leave him behind. In E5 he said a lot of things like "I'm sorry" "I account on you" "I trust you", and he felt rather sorry if he accidently hurt Clem (hit her when punching Arvo or told her to go away when she was approaching the truck's door). He was an asshole when Sarita was dead/bitten, and he can be annoying when it came to "whose side to take". But remember his attitude towards Lee when he was hitting him on the train or when Lee sided with Lilly? I must say that Clem may get the best attitude from Kenny. Whether Clem is driven by others to take care of Kenny or she herself is willing to do that, Kenny does take Clem as the last one he has (besides AJ, who is a baby that can't be taken as a mature friend).

And I hate it that TTG have a character from S1 back and can't stop torturing him...

  • He introduced Clem to Sarita as "my girl" (when in S1 he referred her to Lee as "your girl")

If I remember correctly, Kenny had been referring to Sarita as his girl. The line had been, "I want you to meet my girl Sarita. Ain't she beautiful?". Unless you're referring to another line that I cannot remember.

  • Yeah, he was talking about Sarita.
