Making the "right" decisons for Jane/Kenny

Well this is not a contest on which decision was right, but rather my two cents on what seemed the most reasonable for me given the emotional stress and quick decision making in the game. Let me say that it's truly a miracle that Kenny, Jane and Clem have survived for 2-3 years with their skills, but how much longer can they cope on their own before their luck runs out...

In my view, this all comes down to whether you:

  1. Have an emotional bond with Kenny (but for how long before something tragic happens)
  2. Prioritise Clem and AJ's safety
  3. Take chances with streetwise Jane

**What do the characters want: **Obviously kenny has cracked and his only priority at this point is to see AJ and Clem safe while not caring about the needs of the group. Consider his behaviour from the previous season when Kenny prioritised the safety of his family over the group/other strangers (e.g hershels farm).

So why did Jane come back? Well Luke is gone so the only other reason is Clem (Clem is a survivor like Jane). Jane is not interested in AJ or the group as such. Though Jane has a soft spot for Clem, the question arises as to how comitted she is to AJ's safety in the long run (judging her by her past experiences and viewpoint)... this is especially important since AJ will be a constant problem..

Their objectives and gains: Howe's place has been overrun, there's no certainty that there will still be sufficient baby formula or food available, only that there was. Consider that bandits or carvers group may have ran off with the goods; then there is the risk that there may be other groups or herds there instead... or may appear later on for which it will be tricky for Jane and Clem to fend off on their own in such a huge complex.. it would be a matter of luck if they find other friendly people...

There is no certainty that wellington exists and where, only rumours and hearsay. Nobody knows for certain what will happen if you find the wellington group, they may actually be bandits...

Your own needs: Obviously at this point Jane and Kenny are not going to work well with the group or future groups. Kenny is a former family man who is emotionally unstable while Jane is more the loner, free from responsibilities and distrustful of people. In the end, it comes down to how much you trust a fox like Jane whom you met only a few days before or Kenny. However, Kenny is not the same man he used to be. It's hard to say if Kenny might become something more vicious like carver towards Clem and AJ, that risk is there; but knowing Clem I'm sure she can handle the situation if it arises, likewise if Jane eventually becomes hostile towards AJ if Clem goes with her. Still, going on her own is prefferably the last option I would take in the game.

So it comes down to if you share Kenny's priorities and goal for AJ's security (taking the risk to find wellington or die in the process) and later parting with Kenny. Or take a chance with Jane who although is a survivor, has no clear goals about their future.

The choice to leave wellington with Kenny is an emotional one but not a wise decision since they will be constantly risking AJ's safety out in the wild... not to mention risking the lives of Kenny and Clem..

Even if wellington is already overcrowded.. it offers some comfort of safety which Clem and AJ badly need.
