Why I killed Kenny and let Jane die
Sorry but nobody noticed the original title so I changed it. You should leave now if you don't want to hear me talk about Christa. I've never made one of these long winded speeches before. I don't ever take up that much space while writing but here it goes.
1. She's one of the few characters not determinant.
For what we know Christa does not die determinately whether or not you choose to distract the scavengers. Even though it seems unlikely she could run away with a stabbed leg (if you choose to sneak away) it's Telltale, we don't know for sure. That goes for the gunshots we heard also. Plus we all know what happens to determinant characters, they die shortly after. Kenny is determinant, Jane is determinant, Wellington is determinant, the family is determinant. The only people who aren't determinant are Arvo, Clem and A.J.
2. It's a bad story arc.
Before we even get a feeling of what those 16 months have been like she disappears. I don't know about you guys but I wanted to find out more about Christa and Clem's strained relationship and the death of the baby before she left. Christa appears in S2 for about 10 minutes, then vanishes. It's like she didn't even need to be here! They have a lot of potential in S3 with Christa if they decide to bring her back.
3. It's not that unrealistic to bring her back.
Christa could either be looking for Clementine still, or she could be behind getting to Wellington. It's not like a bring Lilly back plea or Molly back because Lilly is so far away and Molly is more of a loner, why would she go to Wellington? It's even more realistic that Christa would've come back instead of Kenny.
4. We don't want a completely new cast.
I'm fully supporting having new people, but to start clean? We want a couple people from season one/two to be with us, Jane and Kenny might only last for so long (hoping they break the determinant cycle.) But we could have Christa who is a S1 character.
5. Christa is love. Christa is life.
I'll leave you with this. And this isn't a rant but I just really want Christa back.
Comments
I'd be surprised if Christa didn't turn out to be S3's PC. Whereas Telltale has sort of written themselves into a corner with Clem & AJ (unless they want to bite the bullet and jump a decade into the future), Christa's fate remains unknown, and open-ended.
I think Wellington was the place to bring Christa back to make it not too unrealistic
