Your Protagonist for Season 3 if not Clem?

edited September 2014 in The Walking Dead

Mine would be Clem, but if they don't choose to follow Clementine's story, who could we play as?

  1. Christa?
  2. Lily?
  3. Mike?
  4. Arvo?
  5. Someone completely new?
  6. 400 days character?

  • No one from who we already have met in the game. They are all established characters and it wouldn't really feel like it would be "my choices." If not Clem then a brand new protagonist from the beginning of the apocalypse.

  • If Clem won't be the protagonist, then I'd guess they'd do a new character who bumps into her maybe?

  • Top Pick: Christa

    Other Picks:
    AJ
    Lilly
    Someone completely new

  • I think the smartest movie would be that you play as a new character.

Christa, Lilly, Mike or new character

  • Well, just to make it clear, Clem would be the first pick for sure. I'd still play the first episode if it isn't Clem, probably, after reading reviews, but I wouldn't be getting a season pass or buying each episode individually until the season was finished and I could find out if it was any good or not. I personally think the series should end when Telltale is done telling Clementine's story.

That said, if not Clem it would need to be somebody completely new.

  • picking an existing character to be the protagonist would be a bad move imo. if its not clem it should be someone new.

An XBOX 360 through my TV screen. Second choice, If I can afford to replace those things and am not otherwise occupied with some kind of sworn vengeance quest against some of the folks at Telltale, would be Arvo so that I can watch him die repeatedly in an assortment of gruesome ways.

  • Bigby Wolf. Oh wait...

  • I'm still waiting.

  • You play as AJ

  • New character seems the most interesting to me. Though I don't mind who we play as so long as there's a good story backing season 3.

  • Mike really interests me, has since we met him...... duno sumat about him.

  • I'd rather love to see a completely new character, so we can experience the Day 1 of the apocalypse all over again. It would be great if this one character actually managed to interact with past characters, such as Lilly and Eddie, or Christa and Omid before they met up with Lee.

I can imagine this character finding the remains of that was left behind after Lee or Clem advances throughout the different episodes, but more importantly, I can imagine this new character actually becoming a zombie at the end, giving the player a chance to be a walker for the first time in a Telltale's Walking Dead game, before being shot down by an older Clementine at the finale of the season.

    My Protagonist for Season 3.

    Name: Joe.
    Age: 50.
    Height: 6'4ft.
    Weight: 235lbs.
    Body build: Muscular.
    Haircut/ color: Shoulder length, Brown.
Beard style/ color: Full Beard, Salt&Pepper.
    Birthplace: Las Vegas Nevada.

Wardrobe: Black leather coat, Red flannel shirt, Blue jeans, Hiking boots.

    Weapons: Hunting Rifle, Revolver, Hatchet.

Pre Apocolypse: Was a Doctor/Trauma Surgeon. An avid hunter. And a devoted husband and father to a 35 year old secretary, and 2 teenage boys.

Post Apocalypse: Was on vacation in Miami with his family when everything went down.
After traveling the East coastline for 2 years, the family eventually made their way to Wellington.
After being refused entry, the family began to head west.
    Current destination unknown.

  • 400 days character -- Vince I really liked him a lot. also he has a great voice.

  • If Telltale makes the dumbest decision to have a completely new character as the protagonist, then we better expect a Season 4,5, and 6 because TWDG would be pointless without a proper back story on the new character.

  • Mike for next protagonist.

He's unpredictable and characteristically capable of making a wide array of choices. You might get the choice to abandon Arvo after what he did, as him shooting Clem may have very well given Mike a different opinion of him. Bonnie's determinant status would matter, and if Clem were ever to be encountered again, the choice of asking to leave could come into play. I could see it working out.

One thing is for sure, there is no way in hell they'd make Arvo protagonist after they went through all they did to ensure the audience would hate him. Very few would buy the game if Arvo was protagonist. Mike didn't commit as horrible a sin as shooting Clementine in the eyes of most players but there are still a lot of people who hate him and Bonnie for trying to take all the supplies and the truck, so for similar reasons I don't see them being protagonist in season 3 either. They may show up in s3, I wouldn't mind a DLC focused on them either, that'd be cool.

Christa would be great for s3 protagonist. Clem's story seems done to me, and the Wellington endings seems like closure on her story. Before the finale I really wanted Clementine to be season 3's protagonist, but now I am much more open to other characters taking up the spot of protagonist.

I'd also like to see Lilly and Molly again, but that seems even less likely than Arvo or Mike being s3 protagonist.

  • I do want to see Christa again...but only if Clem is also playable or somehow involved. Christa's character development and relationship with Clrm still needs issues to be solved. I.e. Omits death, Christa's baby's death.

  • Clem is obviously the logical choice, but all the multiple endings complicate this. Unless telltale buckles down and creates all the story lines. I would like to keep playing as Clem because of all of the time invested. Perhaps the next story will take place so many years down the road, the individual endings won't matter. I thought it might be fun if they did a prequel for Kenny. We don't know what happened to him after season one. He's obviously had a hard time of things. I've heard some people mention that the fact they were playing as an 11 year old girl influenced their choices, keeping her innocent for example. If playing as Kenny, for example, knowing his attitude people might make different choices. It could be a chance for people to explore a darker side.
