First Impressions have a lasting impact

So.. I love taking Walking Dead into more and more depths.. And this is what I found.

First Impressions have a lasting impact. And how they perfectly played it throughout the franchise.

Let's start with Kenny and Lilly.

When we first meet Kenny, he's shown as a honest man who's out to defend his family. This can be backed up at how he viciously defends Duck and offers Lee a ride to Macon. Kindness!

Lilly, on the other hand, when she first introduced, she is shown as a bitch who tried to leave us to the walkers. She gives Carly massive shit for going out there and saving them.

So right off the bat, Telltale has made you pick a side. Whether you realize it or not. To back it all up, Larry wants Duck thrown out because he's convinced he's been bitten. Lilly and Larry, portrayed as massive assholes right off the bat, even though they had good intentions. Lilly works in the military. She's trained to handle stressful situations. Sometimes, you gotta hurt other people to protect the ones you love. And Larry, like any overprotective father, is just looking out for his daughter. Come on, Lee murdered a guy for sleeping with his wife. It's really not surprising for a father to be that overprotective..

So you see what Telltale has done here? Lee's message of Sometimes, you gotta hurt other people to protect the ones you love can apply excellent in this scenario. But then again, you don't realize it. Because subconsciously, Lilly's first impression was negative. Kenny's was positive. So even if Kenny has dumbest fucking plan in the world, you will side him because in your mind has already been made up due to his first impression.

Like with Shawn Greene, dude helps you out, offers a place to stay, and even offers some food. So when you saved Shawn over Duck, it's because Duck is portrayed as annoying kid who quacks too much.

This is fun! I'll keep updating more and more

  • I don't usually judge people by their first impressions, I judge them based on their actions later on, and I can still sympathize with them.

Remember everyone's first impressions of the Cabin Group? Now a lot of people wish they were back. I try not to judge people until I see their reasoning.

Season 1 is much much better ...

Season 2 has some unreal aspects

But yeah, Nick .. I think that zombie ate his soul. Even though the Walter saves him, I think he still died. Spiritually.

I judge them on how memorable their catch phrase is.

  • My first impression of Luke was "what an asshole" because he dropped Clem and was making a fuss over the dog bite.

Luke became my favourite character this season (after Clem).

    I don't trust first impressions.
