The fall of Wellington - Ideas
These are just a few ideas of how Wellington could fall in Season 3, if you have any put them below!
So recently everyone on this forum has been has been two opposite sides about how Season 3 should play out (luckily it looks like all the people with common sence and appreciation for others opinions stuck around), and I'm on the side of Clementines return, a Clementine Trilogy if you will. One of the arguments made by everyone else is that it seems Wellington is too secure to collapse, but I had some ideas that could see the demise of the securist places.
1) Collapses under its own weight If Wellington becomes over crowded like they where worried about at the end of Season 2 Episode 5 then they could see a shortage of food and supplies and eventually crash under its own demise. Too many people could also see some people form rivalries and riots over how Wellington should be run! This could be the start of Episode 1 and Clementine escapes before she gets in trouble.
2) An internal attack Maby a murderer or a group of bandits are in Wellington and grow obsessed with Clementine, so she has to get away from them before they get her. I don't know, this one sounded good in my head but writ down sounds a bit silly.
Comments
The internal atack would be interesting depending on how they play it out
They all starve as they continue to give huge bags of supplies away to anyone who walks by even though they are low on supplies.
In all honesty infighting + bandits attacking will end it
Exactly I could see it happening and being really interesting, I just don't know how to write it! Ahah
They have to execute it nicely for it to work. It wouldn't be easy to do but my God would it be amazing.
I like the idea of them fighting amongst themselves kinda like a little civil war. It'd be better than just having a big rival group attack them. Maybe Clem could have the choice of who to side with, and it wouldn't be clear who the bad guys or the good guys are.
The only way I could see someone getting obsessed with Clem is in a paedophile way... Idk
I think their own people are probably going to be their own downfall. Fighting, disagreements and whatever else.
I think a lot of people will starve to death cause they seem a little too generous with their food and supplies despite being overpopulated. As a result those who starved will become walkers and it will cause a panic which will result in people dying in the panic making more walkers. I'd assume they have sometime of plan for people that die since they've stood for two years but if so many people are dying at once they won't be able to keep up with it. Add people maybe dying from cold and that'll just add more. We don't know what kind of shelters they have in there. It could be just one big campsite with a lot of tents or it could be a crowded slum with solid house shacks. There's a lot of variables to consider
Probably fighting over whether they should continue giving shelter/food to more people outside the walls. Clementine will contribute to that, one way or another.
Don't care, didn't stay in Wellington, let them rot.
Exactly, its a simple and effective idea that could really work! We've had disagreements within a group before but never an all out roit.
I was thinking that telltale would be unpredictable and Wellington would survive. However Clementine would leave Wellington for some unknown reason or choice that they put in.
Scenario 1 seems unlikely given we know that they are watching population carefully and clearly have a surplus of food. And if they do have a secure place with plenty of food, an internal attack also seems unlikely. Nobody will ruin a good thing. The only way for that to happen would be if it turned out to be run by crazy people and that would be too much like Carver/Governor/Negan.
But if they are turning people away who now they have all those things inside and those people get desperate, it could be torn down from the outside. But there are bugger all walkers about up there so it does seem pretty safe even in that scenario.
Yeah that seems like what might happen, but we may be suprised and have a memorable start to the serise!
I think the natural fall of over population and someone dieing would be the most logical reason for a place like Wellington to fall.
How about that sickness thing that happened in the show (the one where the zombies bleed from the eyes), but I'm not sure if it happened in the comic. Wellington falls from an outbreak of this flu and it could make for some dramatic moments, who to give medicine to and should Clem risk getting sick to save someone.
the problem that happens is that we choose a group, but again the story has to be joined, you know has to be the same at some point right?? so I don't think it could happen that way you know that having a certain group, different groups, because if the different endings. so at some point it would have to correlate and somehow the group has to be the same at some point right?? so maybe for the wellington story arc happens like this
at wellington: maybe theres already commotion and shit breaks down and you have to F out and then you have your group. or maybe it goes with the plot of having problems with other(s) group(s), hey it a big place, and it goes with my favorite quote on the show "if you got something good that means someone wants to take it right?" so that happens.
leaving with Kenny: almost same story line, but just a tad diff. Kenny and clem and aj don't go far from wellington because there's a lot of walkers in the area away from wellington and they have to stay close and they somehow have kept communication with a group or someone from wellington and then the shit happens and they also have to F out.
I'm thinking to Season 4 of the TV show.
Remember when they got a virus/illness/disease and it killed lots of them there.
This could happen in Wellington, and due to all the people turning into walkers, from contracting the virus, the place is overrun by walkers. A fight erupts but walkers overwhelm Wellington.
Some old guy dies of natural cause and kills everyone. It'll be almost impossible for Clementine to get out with all the panicked people and locked walls, make a good QTE also.
There's two ways I think would make things interesting.
Have there be somebody on the inside of the community who is doing wrong, like killing, stealing, etc. Like, maybe this would be the plot for the first or second episode, and it's up to us to figure out this mystery. Maybe they end up creating a leak somewhere and letting in walkers.
They run into another group similar to that of Woodbury, Terminus or Negan and his saviors. Some brutal group who we somehow manage to piss off for the sake of the plot which puts them on a road for vengeance, thus creating a war and having Wellington be destroyed by the battle. I know this has been done in the comics and show, but it would be nice to see how Telltale pulls this kind of scenario off, especially since Telltale has yet to add explosions to their games. It would be interesting to see what explosions look like on the engine.
We have yet to see nature play any major factor in the game yet. I can see an unusually long and harm winter be the kick start to Wellington's downfall. The winter can cause crops to ruin or bear less than normal when harvest time comes. This leads to a food shortage. The winter can also put a damper on Wellington's ability to fetch for supplies. With food and supplies going low, some corners are cut with hygiene. Sure, people have been cutting corners before, but we have yet to see it happen with a multitude of people inside of a community surrounded by four thick walls. This leads to a spread of illness. The illness is causing panic and stress for a mass wave of death within the community will sure be more than everyone can bare. The worst happens anyways. The Grim Reaper has become the newest addition into Wellington. This once perfect community, this lighthouse on a hill in the midst of a storm in a world gone to hell, the shining north star guiding humanity towards its survival and rebirth has now fallen. Its light has burned its last flame. Wellington is snow bound. They are low on food, medicine, supplies, and space to bury the dead. The mixture of death, disease, and spiritual darkness has now turned Wellington into a death trap. Slowly, day by day, Wellington community members begin to abandon the camp and take their chances in the harsh winter in a desperate attempt to find safety. After a couple of months, only a few of Wellington's survivors remain. With food virtually gone, the infrastructure of Wellington weakening due to the snow and ice, and an insufficient amount of ammunition to defend the camp, the last survivors are forced to leave. Knowing that everyone is heading south, they plot a new course: west. The crew sets their sights on getting over the mountains to the Mississippi River Valley. Here we find our survivalist, young Clementine, set out once again on a journey. This time, there is no Marsh House, or boat, or Wellington to look to. There is just a desperate attempt to find a chance of survival.
EDIT: Wow, I got WAY too into typing this. lol But this is one way I can see Wellington fall. I might do another one tomorrow.
That'd be really creepy, I could see it being an effective plot!
What if Clementine gets kicked out of Wellington?
This is great way for the story to go though. Plus its the most possible/realitstic thing that could happen, I put my money on it
Jeeze, that is kind of dark
It's The Walking Dead. It's always dark. But it would add a new element to the story. There is no end goal this time around, just a mindset that somewhere there is a place that is safe. There has to be a place where humanity is surviving. It's just you against nature and walkers. It allows you to see how desperate some people can get if they want to survive.
I'm sure they have a greenhouse/plant farm, though. Judging by how big Wellington looks, pretty sure they'd have enough space for it, too.
Yea.... I don't like that.
Bandits again?
Group vs Group is something I want to see eventually in the game
How lazy would that be? Haha, honestly...
I really like this idea, like the Kenny and Lilly divide in season one but on a much larger and more important scale
Why is Wellington a good place again? How do you know it isn't carver 2.0
It very well could be, or it could be a place like Alexandria.
LOL!
Yeah, no. Let's leave pedophilia out of this, and don't mention it again, you might give Telltale ideas ;P
