Why do people despise Larry so much?

Larry never got the chance. We were starting to see his more humane side and then Kenny killed him, before we had chance to explore his character more.

And Carlos must be the worst doctor ever if he doesn't recognize dog bite from human bite.

At first I did hate them, with the exception of Pete who stood up for Clem when no one else would. As a consequence, he was my favorite Seas

  • He was an intense dude but he made me laugh so I couldn't hate him.

  • Larry had three months, and from what the group was saying in Episode 2 he just stayed the same throughout. The only time I saw him acting "Humane" was when he was hitting on Brenda. The guy's taste in women leaves a lot to be desired considering her "hobby."

Carlos is indeed a horrible doctor. I said he was a good person, not a good doctor. His medical license is likely just a napkin with the word "Dokter" scribbled on it between the stains.

  • I chuckled at almost every single one of his Starved for Help lines. VA did a great job.

  • Because he's Larry.

This is what I actually look like, what are you some sort of shadowist!? There's only one thing I hate more than xenophobic racism and that's crab men. I mean they look like crabs AND talk like people? No sir, not on my planet.

Someone is always complaining about someone else in the game, it doesn't really mean much. Those people are complaining because the game wants you to pick your side. I guess that you're not in team Larry/Lilly. :)

And I cannot forgive attempted murder so easily, especially since he was also trying to get the group to murder an innocent kid just before that.

Larry can die in a fire. The only reason I cared at all about him getting his head smashed in is because Clem and Lilly were there, and at the time I liked Lilly. IIRC I "did" try to revive him, though I can't remember exactly what my reasoning was. I totally did my best to try and let Kenny know that I thought he made the right call afterwards, but he was still pretty butthurt about it.

He couldn't forgive easily, and he made an extreme, irrational decision in the heat of the moment for Lilly.

  • The point is you have to stop and consider why Larry acts the way he does in order to not think of him as an asshole. We all thought that. Nobody liked Larry, some people hated his guts. You don't have to hate him after you learn why he's an asshole, but it can be reasoned that one way or another how he copes with the outside world now is unjustified, regardless of whatever he went through and that his failure to not be a jerk makes him deserving of the hate.

Larry encased his heart in stone and dealt harshly with everyone he met, and that almost ended up putting a child in danger of a very probable and horrifying death. If I had the chance to ask him what fuels the attitude that made him consider that acceptable, and he answered honestly, "my wife died, I dealt with a lot of rejection and abuse etc", I would have just as easily made an effort to leave him behind when making a break for the motor inn. Regardless of how he acted at the St John's, the only thing he seemed concerned with was revenge and keeping his daughter safe at the exclusion of others including children.

So no, it shouldn't be all that surprising to know that most people don't like Larry or hate him. I don't much care for Larry. Not enough to let him die, but just enough to not care if he died, and rather more about how.

  • Its cool man, i have heard people forget Sarita's name and that was this season.

In my defence I'm bad with names in real life as well and I did get the first letter right lol and honestly who would you rather have in an apocalypse, a lady who can shoot really well or a dude who can use TV remotes?

  • Just as an example. Civilians are killed because of American soldiers. Please remember this.

Well said. Americans are responsible for some of the worst atrocities during war times. Back to the Larry discussion though, he had some serious issues there's no doubt about it. However, being a father myself I can understand some of where he was coming from.

  • THANK YOU

    Someone that understands!

Anyway, my point isn't that Larry's a dirtbag per se, just that being a veteran doesn't justify being a dirtbag.

    Thanks for your insight though?

Out of curiosity, how old's your kid?

  • Yes, I do realize that. And you have a point. But Larry refused to believe that he had changed or anything.

You do realize Lee is a convicted Murderer right? People in the armed forces would see him as a threat.

  • Why would he? He barely knew him. The whole 1-5 takes place i think in 90 days.

  • Probably because he punches in the face and leaves you to get killed

  • Not well said, as it only manages to glorify the stereotype that America is evil and other countries are 100% good. Japan is no saint, Russia is no saint, China is no saint, human beings are never going to be perfect and they will always have a dark side.
