If Telltake HAD to pick a cannon ending, who would you think it'd be?

  • I mean all the times Lee protected her, and playing with Duck and Katjaa.

And he was a dick to my Lee too, but they made up in S1EP5, he helped Lee find Clem and was gonna sacrifice himself to put a Ben out of his misery

Better times? The beginning of the zombie Apocalypse and discovering your parents are dead aren't exactly better times. Not only that but

  • Telltale would probably choose the Alone ending. If I personally had a say in it I would choose leaving Wellington and staying with Kenny as the canon ending.

As I've pointed out in another thread, I'm pretty sure that it was bad scripting that resulted in the game not correctly registering that you protected Duck.

The proof is that even Lee thinks that he didn't protect Duck (saying "that was a long time ago" when Kenny claims that you weren't always there for Duck). I could understand if Kenny didn't recognize that you were there for Duck if you disagreed with him, but why would Lee not remember that he had protected Duck? It's clearly because a programmer goofed up.

It wasn't how character was supposed to behave - it was bad scripting resulting in the game not registering your choice correctly.

  • I'd say the cannon ending would be Wellington.

You're literally saying that every game's main goal is "Don't die" "Don't get a game over screen" and everything else is just on the side

  • I like it, but I like the idea of having Gill around. I vote the family goes with you to Wellington / Meets you are Wellington / Finds you at Wellington (and dislikes you for turning them away)

I think we might end up in Wellington nontheless, hear me out before bashing me. I believe there will be a DLC which ties up loose ends.

  • What a stupid question. Obviously Jane gets her ass stabbed and Clementine and Kenny walk into the sunset.

(Jk, it's not a stupid question - I just can't imagine picking anything other than the above).

Hey man, don't joke. A cannon got Sarah killed.

Not if the ending has Clem firing Jane out of a cannon

  • That's because Luke was busy firing the cannon instead of keeping a lookout :) Don't blame the cannon :)

What about the entirety of Season 2? He started taking care of her like she was his niece.

    • He could have taken off when Carver's group captured the others, but he stuck around to rescue Clementine.
    • When the gun was pointed to Clementine's head, he gave himself up, knowing that he could be killed for having killed one of Carver's men.
    • When Clementine was in danger, he took the blame for the radio, allowing himself to be beaten to death for her.
    • He never took off without Clementine and would not abandon her, unlike Jane who left her wounded in the car to defend herself from walkers, and previously left her sister to die.
    • When they reach Wellington, he begs them to take Clementine into safety, even offering to give up the supplies for himself as a part of the deal.
    • If Clem believes Jane that he's a danger to her, he supports her choice to leave without him. He clearly has her best interests at heart.
    • Even if she shoots him, he forgives her and wants what's best for her.

There's nobody else who was really there for Clementine since her parents died, other than Lee.

Anything but leaving with Kenny and AJ. Someone who was completely disconnected from Clem in Season One and in Season Two acted like a jerk

  • You totally miss the point. I find the choice to leave with Kenny is so illogical is because the guy is completely irrational, dangerous and hypocritical, in both seasons!

Yes he did some nice things and stuck up for Clem but they never really had a friendly exchange in the Season, nor did he teach Clem anything whatsoever. Not to mention indirectly cause the group constant harm, sometimes directly.

From episode 3 onwards it's clear the writers are telling you Kenny is a broken man and is a ticking time bomb. To completely go against that message and stay with him makes zero sense. He was nice to Clem sure but he was never a good guardian to her. That's the main point. I guess it's because in my Season One playthrough he was such a jerk and then in Season Two was more of a jerk, I find it hard to see why Clem would find him endearing enough to leave a safe haven for him. That's food, shelter, water, all to be with someone who constantly causes harm to others.

Not my Clem that's for sure.

  • Welligton, Kenny, Jane, Jane and family, alone, alone(Kenny alive), alone(Jane alive), thats make 7 endings.

I don't want to sound like a dick, but there are 5 different endings to Season 2.

  • I'm not sure we were playing the same game :)

  • Haha, maybe. Glad to hear we both had completely different yet enjoyable experiences though.

  • Probably the one most players picked. So in other words, the one where Clementine returns to Howe's Hardware with Jane and resides there with the family.
