Well, I think that it's something to do with a DLC. Maybe a DLC on what happened in the 16 month ti… moreme skip? If that, Clementine's the protag? Which is why Mel would be happy?

I was one of those suckers, on vacation, excitedly babbling about how awesome it was going to be to my cousin who (rightfully so) believed I was an idiot for staying up until 3 a.m. for a few seconds of Clementine walking around in snow.
I don't recall saying it would be happening this soon. An announcement doesn't exactly mean "Hey, we're making a DLC. Oh, would you look at that, it's right here."
I don't think there are any live streams but the official Skybound Walking Dead twitter account https://twitter.com/TheWalkingDead did live tweets for the other Walking Dead panels at the NYCC so i guess they will do the same for the Telltale one, i would also keep a watch on the official Telltale account https://twitter.com/telltalegames as they also might be doing live tweets.

Showed @Melyhutch the little surprise we have for our #NYCC #TheWalkingDead panel tomorrow. Her eyes lit up like a kid on Christmas morning!
If they do show us a teaser for season 3 or a DLC it could be a very vague one like the teaster they showed during the 2013 SDCC showing two silhouettes on a log with Clementine's theme as it seems a bit too early for any major teasers.
There was a original image that they released at SDCC with this description "A teaser image revealed during the panel showed what appeared to be Clementine sitting in the rain next to a child" but someone remade the fake one which Telltale confirmed as fake.
@Zeruis was at the panel when they showed it and after season 2 finished i remember him saying he thinks it was Christa and Clementine at the camp at the start of season 2.

DLC is likely and all but I doubt it will be happening this soon after s2. We will most likely be getting it in January/February.
