Personally, I'd probably so annoyed I wouldn't. I'd probably watch someone else playing it on Youtube, and if they (somehow) had made a protagonist then Clem then I might get it. But I'd never forgive them if they just ended Clem's story so suddenly.
And besides, surely she'll be the Season 3 protagonist- her story is as yet unresolved, and there's so many directions they can take her story in- so I wouldn't stress about her not being the protagonist in Season 3. If Telltale have any sense, they won't do that.
If Clementine dies in the first minute, or if she just doesn't matters anymore then i'll probably quit with telltale
But I know what telltale's plans are for Clementine so I don't have to worry. At all. Can't wait for season 3.
imagine while u play season 3 without clementine starts with a flashback "previously on the walking dead" -after the flashbacks that you made choices in the previous season- i will be dumbfounded to play a different protagonist who isn't have a connection with 2 previous seasons so it doesnt make any fucking sense, well rather make another game but not the walking dead title on it?
That's if there even is DLC, there doesn't have to be, The Walking Dead's DLC was a rare thing for Telltale, it's literally their only game with a DLC currently.
The only way I won't buy Season 3 without Clem as the protagonist is if Telltale writes her off completely. What's the point of creating Clementine, and building her character up only for her to mysteriously disappear? There's no point at all.
No. Her story is far from over. She still has a lot of growing up to do and so does AJ. I want to know what happened to Christa, Lily, Glenn, etc. I would be very disappointed if Clementine isn't the protagonist in season 3. I'm too attached to this character. I know I sound ignorant but if she's not the protagonist, most likely I will not buy season 3. v.v

No there aren't. Don't lie to yourself. The only groups to follow are Rick's group and Clementine's group. Nothing else exists unless it happens to collide with one of these groups.
The only other character I'd be ready to accept as PC is Christa. Since Kenny's determinant now, he's pretty much a no-go, and I'll refuse to buy anything to do with S3 if it abandons Clementine's story altogether.
I agree. I really wonder what happened to Christa and I liked her character. But I still want Clementine to be the protagonist. It's funny how most people are saying her story is over yet all of the endings results in a cliffhanger. PLUS, like I said she still has a lot of growing up to do and so does AJ. Some people are saying that they don't want to be Clementine because she's a kid so your choices are limited. But, in season 3 most likely she'll be older so you'll have tougher decisions.

THANK YOU! It's like people want a new protagonist just because they want something new. Clem IS THE WALKING DEAD she is the equivalent of Rick in the comics/TV show. Anyone who says her arc is completed is totally wrong. Like who the fuck is Clem? Nobody knows because she's been with one shitty group after another with adults who dictate her life. Would she grow up to be like Rick or would she be like Walter? The only way to find out is if we continue her story. TT needs to see this through. This character has so much potential and still so much development to go. I've followed Clem for hours upon hours and you mean to tell me that her story is going to end with a kid telling me "Nice hat"? Jesus, c'mon.
And it's a total cop-out to think the multiple endings make it too hard to continue Clem's story. The writers at TT are creative people and get paid to figure this stuff out. That's no excuse to end a nowhere near completed character arc. Just have patience.
Honestly I wouldn't buy it, I would probably watch a playthrough to see what its about. Basically EVERYONE says they want Clem to leave. Are… more you all losing your minds? In an IGN interview they said that this game is all about Clem. Clem was the first idea for the game, even before Lee! You cannot have season 3 without Clem, it would no longer be season 3, it would simply be "The Walking Dead Reboot" Its like having a movie about one person and then making a "sequel" that has absolutely nothing to do with the first movie. Then its not the same series anymore. Like it or not Clem will either be protagonist or a HUGE part of the game, you just have to get used to it. All the endings in season 2 were complete cliffhangers, do you honestly think they will leave the game at a huge cliffhanger? Just drop it entirely and start over without any explanation as to what happened to Clem? It simply doesn't make any sense! Like I said before, like it or no… [view original content]
Exactly! They act like Kenny saying "You're stubborn as a damn mule(or something along those lines)" and Clem saying "I wonder where I get that from." then walking off into the distance is a complete ending. Hell, Clementine doesn't even have a personality yet, she is still becoming herself, Telltale cannot end it off here. And it is a complete cop-out! Like come on, its going to be hard but do you really think they'll drop the story where it is? Every single ending is a cliffhanger, Clementine could die 10 seconds after Season 2 ends and we would never know! Telltale won't drop everything they've worked for just because of a little writers block. It just makes me so mad that people hate the game but still play and complain. And yes, those of you out there that hate Clementine also hate the game, Clementine IS the game!!!
THANK YOU! It's like people want a new protagonist just because they want something new. Clem IS THE WALKING DEAD she is the equivalent of… more Rick in the comics/TV show. I will buy it either way. I wouldn't mind if she wasn't the protagonist, but she better be in it! Also she better not die, I don't know if I can handle it.
Couldn't agree more. I love Clementine, I can't understand why some people don't like her. I know it's a very small but vocal minority, but what's there not to like about the character? Playing a young girl in a video game is very different and I like the fact that I can't just punch people to solve problems; you have to be smart. It's a challenge you don't see too often in games. I loved this season, possibly more than season 1. I thought season 1 was done better and more choices had an actual impact on the game but I enjoyed playing as Clem so much that I thought it totally made up for those drawbacks. I'm not a comic expert but I thought I read that Rick's story in the Walking Dead has covered two decades and counting? If that's true, it's proof that Clem's story has a long way to go. If writers can still develop and think of new and interesting conflicts in the comics after covering a span of 20+ years in the apocalypse, then TT should easily be able to continue what they have going with Clem. And Clem hasn't even reached her teens yet! That's where I think she's going to transform the most.
I just don't understand why people want a new protagonist. I understand everyone has different opinions but it just seems like such an easy decision to make.
Anyway, just found this Walking Dead forum last night and I absolutely love it. Finished up season 2 yesterday and haven't been able to keep my mind off it. Love reading everyone's opinions!

People don't like Clem? I can't even imagine someone playing the game if they don't like her. She basically IS TWDG. I wouldn't mind if Clem wasn't the protagonist, but I would want her to be at least a central character. What are some of the reasons people don't like her?
I don't think they have to jump to far for season 3. I think that Wellington can serve as a start point for Season 3, each ending can have Clem end up there. It would just suck for Kenny/Jane, because TT will probably have to write them out of it somehow.
I also just finished up season 2 last night, I can't stop thinking about that last decision.

Me too! Teared up that's for sure. From what I've read, there's some people who don't like playing as a kid because they feel limited. They can't physically take someone down and their opinions aren't taken as seriously as an adult's would. But that's an aspect that I personally really liked. I read a couple comments that thought she was a bitch? She was sassy at times but I love that haha. She didn't take shit from anyone but she still had her sweet and charming side. Also, I'm watching a video interview with one of the game's directors and he was asked why they didn't include an option to leave the baby at the end of the season and he replied, paraphrasing, "We didn't include that because she's isn't quite at that point yet." So the fact that he used present tense and said "yet" I think is a good sign that they'll continue her story. Maybe I'm looking too deep into it but maybe not.

Ehh I would say the same as I said 4 months ago but I don't want a ban so I won't say it but you know what I mean :-)
Yes I will try it but I will be very disappointed and I won't be as interested in the story as I was before.

her status isn't in determinant so i hope she's not gonna die so fast
but i prefer if they do season 2 dlc befor season 3

Completely agree
Well if she's the protagonist in season 3, most likely she'll be older so you'll get to make bigger choices as a older teen or adult.
yeah but in season 3 she could be older..which wouldn't limit you to bigger choices
I'm honestly shocked how many people said yes. I thought everyone here was silly no clem no buy people lol
