How Carver Could Have Been In Amid The Ruins

Oh my goodness, I just thought of something that would have made the whole Carver situation so much better. Kenny shoots Carver in one leg, before being stopped by either Clementine or Sarita. Kenny sighs, and Jane reminds them they need to quickly go out. To which they do, and they escape not before Carlos is shot, Sarah screams and all chaos ensues.

The group makes it to the national war site, and both Jane and Clem go to the observation deck where they encounter Arvo. Instead of carrying medical supplies, he is carrying both a gun and binoculars and seems to be checking for any survivors on the observation deck. Clementine sees him through the telescope whilst he's looking at her through binoculars, before looking startled and quickly limping away whilst Clementine tells Jane but when Jane looks nobody is there.

The episode continues until Clementine spots Arvo coming towards her, he mentions he needs bandages and such however when the group comes out. It isn't Russians. Carver, Troy, Tavia, and other workers who survived from Howes (Hank is determinant) are back. Carver is being supported by Troy as his leg is bandaged and still healing after being shot. Arvos sister is also here. Carver mentions Rebeccas baby, however before he can get a look, Kenny aims his gun at him and starts arguing for him to back off.

Everybody is arguing, and such until Rebecca comes back and is shot by either Clementine or Kenny. Carver is the one to yell no, and the shoot-out occurs.

When No Going Back Time Left begins, Arvo is trying to revive his sister, who has been shot. Troy and the others are still in the shoot-out and Carver is still alive leaning behind a tree. Tavia is on the floor trying to shoot, whilst Hank and others are dead. Tavia is shot by Kenny, and Troy is shot by Luke (who runs out to get Tavias gun and gets an angle on Troy but not before getting shot in the leg) - Troy is shot, whilst the baby is still either crying on the floor or protected by Clementine.

Luke is on the floor and Arvo watches in fear wondering if he should intervene whilst Clementine can see his sister has come about is about to bite him however, she is shot before Arvo can see her as a walker and turns to see her corpse and glares at Clementine.

Carver is about to shoot Luke as he has picked up Troys gun but is stabbed in the back of the neck by Jane.

Done, that way Carver gets a befitting death, Arvo is explained to have been with Carver to protect himself and his sister, etc.

  • I felt his death in Episode 3 was very befitting. He deserved what Kenny did and deciding to stay and watch him die is one of my favorite choices in the game. But everything else is fine, nice job.

  • Personally, having Carver's community come back for revenge in the last two episodes would have been a more compelling conflict than the stupid bickering between Kenny and Luke/Jane.

Have Troy be the victim of the crowbarring in Episode 3. Have Tavia lead a group of survivors to war against Clem's group amid the civil war ruins. Have episode 5 be a showdown between Carver and Clem.

  • I'm cool with what happened to Carver. I really liked his character, but it was fitting. I think it would have been stale if all of The Walking Dead Season Two was about running away from Carver. But I think what you said about the showdown that could have happened in Amid The Ruins is interesting.

  • I could definitely see the survivors of Carver's group coming after the cabin group for revenge, but how does Arvo fit into this? The way you describe it, I don't see how Arvo fits into this. I thought that was the point of bringing Carver's group back, to give the remainder of the season already established antagonists, rather than scrambling to fill that role with a random Russian family unit.

But Carver wouldn't even have to survive for this; if Tavia wants more characterization than hopeful scout turned apathetic goon, maybe Carver dying like he did could have been the best thing for that. If Telltale had decided to use her more, that is.

  • Arvo'd just be another random goon of Carver's.

And yeah, I wish Tavia had more characterization. I wanted to know how she turned from a reasonably nice woman to an apathetic prison warden. She could have been an example of someone who was loyal to Carver without being an idiot, a douchebag, or a weak-willed traitor.

  • Guys also, Tavia and the others could still be out there. We never saw them die, we just saw walkers on their roof. Perhaps we could encounter them during Season Three?

  • Also no corpses were on the roof. Remember, in Clementines ending she went on to the roof before spotting the family and there were no corpses or blood, or bodies. Therefore it's strongly implied, they somehow made it out (They may also have plans for our 400 Days Characters)

Something happened on the roof because there was blood all over in my game.

    Meaby it is walkers blood.

  • Yeah could be but the drag marks don't look good could be some of them made it.

  • Actually that is odd, how did no corpses get onto the roof? Not even walker corpses. Hmm...Interesting.

  • That would be interesting but it would make no sense why Arvo would be with them

  • Why would Kenny or anyone beat Troy to death the way he did Carver? He didn't do anything personally to him and didn't really do anything deserving of that.

More like Carver being the one who shoots Rebecca in order to protect the baby.

  • Due to his disability and without the Russian group, and the need to protect his sister- He'd most likely join with Carver, not suspecting they were some sort of evil regime tracking down another group.

Dude...Troy got punished way worse than Carver did.

Pretty sure he'd rather get what Carver got.

  • That death would be rushed and not the sendoff one of the best written characters in this season deserves.

  • Maybe. Someone would still need to go to the house

  • Would have preffered if the howes group had shown up rather than arvo

  • Arvo could have offered them the house, or Carver needed someone who Clementine most likely didn't know to scout around in case they saw one another. I mean if Clementine saw Carver scouting, she would have quickly alarmed the group and they would have moved on as much as they could before Rebecca gives birth.

That death would be rushed and not the sendoff one of the best written characters in this season deserves.

  • Aside from the fact none of the shooters noticed Rebecca had become a walker, and thus would have no reason to just suddenly shoot Rebecca out of the blue, before Clementine or Kenny did.
