Telltale done with Clementine as main?

Last season really ended differently than the first. It actually gave you more choices as to how it ended which could mean it has more finality to it. I was looking at Amazon's best sellers and season 1 is like # 3,000 something while season 2 is like 7,000 something. So even now season 1 is selling a lot better than season 2. This is just on Amazon, I couldn't find any other sources but it's probably a pretty good source. If it's true that season one is really selling that much better than season 2 Telltale has got to be scratching their heads to boost sales for season 3. I know people on this forum who are pretty die hard about the game, and Clementine may be a minority when it comes to the overall fan base for this type of game.

Obviously season 1 is selling more than 2, 1 came first people have to play 1 before they play 2.

Oh and I'd be happiest of they kept clementine but we dont play as her. A child dosnt really work and they cant age her (and to be honest they shouldnt anyway, no more timeskips)

True but it also might mean that there wasn't a very big turn over of fans from season 1, to season 2 when it came out. That could mean a lot of fans of season 1 decided not to purchase season 2 because of who they had to play as. Season 1 is CURRENTLY 3,000 something. It's not overall sales but what it's doing right now. That means season 2 kind of fell on its face in sales.

  • Telltale will lose a lot of fans if they don't keep Clem as playable character. The only reason S1 is selling more is because its the first one lmao.

Personally, I would love for a new PC and a new story, just to change things up for the (possible) better. But yeah, Telltale will probably not gonna get rid of Clementine till the series finale.

I think you're wrong. There are plenty of games out right now that are sequels that are better in sales than the original right now.

    Call of duty Advanced warfare
    Farcry 4
GTA 5 are far outselling their earlier games.

  • I think that she going to remain the playable character for season 3 especially after watching the latest playing dead interview and also reading other Telltale interviews. And just because season 2 is selling less than season 1 doesn't necessarily mean it's because of Clem being the protagonist. Most people I know didn't mind playing as her and many others just loved it. I think it only depends on the quality of the writing regardless of who the main character is. And I also think that seeing the ZA world through the eyes of an orphaned child is something rare and original, Clem still has a lot of potential.

  • If they're done with Clem (which I doubt), I'm done with the game.

Probably not, however if they do get rid of her then I don't really mind, I'll play as any character they create, so long as the narrative is good..

most likely not but what we do know is that clem is definitely a part of season 3 since telltale have been sending ideas (which involve clem) to robert kirkman and he mentioned them on playing dead

  • I sure hope so.

  • Thats because you don't need to knowing anything about the former games to play those games. This isn't a standalone sequel, its a sequel in which it continues S1's story.

  • I think Clementine will still be playable, but maybe it'll be like Borderlands where we'll play as more than one character.

  • I doubt it, I don't think Telltale is going to mess with the way TWD is played by having you play as multiple protagonists when it has worked fine as a single protagonist game. Why, when you have two seasons worth of playing as one character, change it to multiple characters for the third installment?

  • maybe theyll pull an TLOU and have us play another character, the deuteragonist

Because 400 Days did it, and the recent Telltale Games have done it too. But for a direct answer, I guess it'd be a different way of going about the narrative where it's shared instead of confined to one character alone. There's no right or wrong with these things, just, ways o.o

  • If they didn't do that with Lee and Clementine in Season 1, I doubt then that they will do that in future installments.

  • hey you did play as clementine! for like a couple of seconds:P.... but yeah but again it was their first crack at the game and what other game before that was that big?

I don't want Clementine gone from these games, but I wouldn't mind a new playable character. It was still fun playing as Clem though, and I think they should definitely have her keep a big role in the game, just not as the main playable. (I still think Christa would be a pretty good candidate for S3 protag.)

Too many people like her, and I assume Telltale likes money, so the chances of them being done completely with her...are slim. Very slim.
