If Clem is not the protagonist or involved in Season 3..

  • Nah, I get it. It's cool. It was just what I figured since I saw most of the ones that are up for Clem aren't around as much. So that was the conclusion I came up with. You have a good one too. :3

Just as Rick is the main character in the comics and the tv show I think that Clem should be the main character of TWD game. I strongly believe that it is important for a story (especially a series) to have a main character that ties the story and all the seasons together. Yes, change is good and this type of game can allow us to play as a different character each season and it would probably be a lot of fun for many people.

But in the end, what is all this for ? What is the soul of the story ? What's the point of it all if we just keep playing as someone new everytime? It may be great for all the possibilities it can offer but storywise, there would not be much continuity and the events of previous seasons wouldn't have any impact on the future ones. What's the point of calling it a season 3 then if it has nothing to do with the two previous ones?

For a story driven game that is something that cannot be overlooked, we need to have at least one character that appears in all seasons so that when all seasons are released and we look at it as a whole, we realize that it truly was the journey of a character that we know well and that has gone through incredible changes. To me it woul be more powerful and meaningful that way. And Clem seems to be perfect for this role since Lee is dead, most people she knew are dead and she still has a lot of growing up to do. Her character may not have been handled the best way in season 2 but it doesn't mean they can't fix it and make it more interesting to follow her story.

  • I wouldn't have a problem but I would get disappointed a bit. Kinda like this:

I am sorry for your loss. Yes this is a fictional character but for a fictional character it has accomplished miles in way of making us remember her. She is for a vast majority I think the heart and soulf of TWDG.

HOW DARE HE HAVE A OPINION DIFFERENT THAN JOOOOooooooooooooooooooo, I been through worse than what Clementine has been through, and you know what. I still don't like her, now what.

  • I agree, after all Season 1 is shaped around Clementine more or less. You protect her, you get her to probably become one of your favourite fictional characters. The ending is also not solely about Lee dying, but also about his journey to save and sacrifice himself for Clementine, who is his last family. Is Season 1 was only about Lee being a badass zombie killer and stop and just that, we would just have ourselves a point and click action game, not a memorable interactive story.

Plus, Clementine is still a kid. Her story is FAR from over. She has a lot of growing up to do. Just because they changed the protagonist fr

  • I hope also that she is the Main Char or even a close sidekick to the new Main. If i got it the right way, the Storyline is about her and not about shooting just some zombies outta the woods, there are enough other games for that. Also, no matter what ending was played in S2, it seems very interesting to me how Clem would moving on and what she will explore, at least its her Story ! And , for real, i hope she get a bit more strongness from some others and every now and then a smile on her face. She gives so much and get so many times disappointed. Look what the Gurl was goin tru, look at her face in the last episodes.... for a player like me who likes getting into the story i really suffer with her ....... how much burden can a lil' one like her put on her tiny shoulders before breaking..... Sure i know what that Game is about, but hey, she fu****n deserve a little more Sun in her Heart, dammit. Well maybe i take it a bit to serious but hell, i love her the way she is and i think it would be simply not fair to kick her out of the whole story. Never touched me a simple Game deep like this one but i am sure i not the only one feeling like this. She should have the chance to make us know she is in a possible way safe and happy in the way happiness is possible in such a world. There are surely ways to make S3 with her interesting even for those who might not like that in the first sight, what about rebuild a community, small town maybe, what about having something like a Family or a group of people not slaughtering themselfes about different opinions....what about become some safeness to go on with things like ...whatever. there was so much suggestions what to do in s1 and s2 too before the groups fall apart, maybe now there is a chance to make things happen. As a Fact, if she die , the Game is dead too. she is very special and i like to keep it that way. Good Ending for her Story would be to see her infront of a well armed and protected stronghold from where the living ones reclaim that world , not to let her just be in a world full of Shi*. .. at least it would give the whole shit she have to take a sence. :for what it was worth to move on and fight for. Hell , i guess that was more than i wantet to say but i needed to say that.

Honestly, I don't care as much about characters as I do about Telltale making a better game. I loved Season 1, enjoyed TWAU, but TWD Season 2 left a sour taste in my mouth. Characters are shallow, Clem acts like an adult while adults act like children, subplots are always like this: conflict with strangers -> childish discussions -> Clementine saves the day -> everyone's "okay" -> walkers -> someone dies -> childish discussions, repeat. Come on! I had the feeling story was getting somewhere on Season 1 and TWAU, I got hyped even though Telltale's been dumbing down the actual gameplay to something close to their Jurassic Park. With Season 2? Hey, let's take this recipe, repeat it over and over again while pretending choices do matter and see where it takes us to! I felt dragged out "hey, yeah... let's keep going with this flow, I don't even care about anyone here but I've wasted 6 hours already, 2~3 more to go...".

Knowing how little Telltale cares about developing subplots/branching out mainplots, I wouldn't be surprised if they just forget about the old characters or pick one of the endings to move on to, and if they do follow from one of them, Kenny/Jane is probably going to die anyway right way and we'll start the actual story from the same place. They've done the illusion of choice better before, they've developed stories better before, their characters were better before, I'm not losing all hope with TWD but I sure as hell didn't feel all the emotion they were trying to throw down my throat in this Season. Only moment I've felt something above average was when Clementine had the flashback about Lee, I remembered how good that game was in my first playthrough and how frustated I was about myself, for feeling like I was wasting my time this time

  • I totally agree with the emotionally unstable part for Clementine. I mean, she has lost more than Kenny has and we all know how that went down with him. Telltale could have made her character so much better by giving you an option to express how sad you were, but we were forced to spend 3 episodes just calming down crazy Kenny.

I agree that people around her need to care about her, for me, I didn't care too much for many characters in s2 mostly because they didn't show much care for Clementine. The cabin group lost me at locking her in the shed, and from then on the only relationship you really have is with Kenny. Anyway, said my piece, very tired and grumpy right now :(

I want to see them reinvent Clementine as a follower, now that she has had some hardships, maybe she becomes really emotionally unstable for

  • also, why would our season 2 ending choices matter? Not much of a story driven by the player then is it?

  • I don't mind if Telltale decide to ditch Clementine character. BUT REMEMBER, Clementine has become one of Telltale's iconic character since TWD Season 1. Throughout this two seasons, what I see is that the story all revolve around Clementine. Season 1 is about Lee finding Clementine and taking care of her. Season 2 is about Clementine survival and her struggle to cope with new group. I would say that Season 3 is about Clementine having a huge responsibility on taking care of AJ and ensure their survial in this crazy apocalyptic, just like Lee taking care of her before.

This is just my two cents. I hope that the series will continue with Clementine, even she is not a protagonist.

  • Thats what i was trying to say too. Even if she isnt the Main anymore, but she is definitive the very special soul of the Game. Even as a Sidekick like in S1. If they put her out, the game will become nothing more like any other apocalyptic endtime killshot whatever game.... enough around of those ones. and if they decide to let her die, well thats the end of it at all.....fighting thru 3 seasons just to die at the end would make it a senceless game, not what most of the players like to buy i guess, definitive nothing i would buy.

  • You're the one that controls her character.

Honestly, as long as she's in s3, I don't care if I play as her or not.

  • isnt that an obvious question

first i would kill myself. then i'd kill my family. then i'd take a plane to telltale HQ and kill everyone involved with the walking dead.
and yeah, i'd do it in that order. everything after step one is as a walker.

  • My reaction:

  • I like the new Clementine, and want to see where we ended up. In my opinion, it would be odd to just change characters, now in particular.
