Will Clementine die in Season Three?

It seems like Season Three may be the last, considering the commonplace series of a trilogy which Telltale seems to be aiming for. However, if it's the last will that mean Clementines story will end, for good?

Do you think she will die? How so? Will it be optional? Will she make a transition into the television show or comics?

Or do you think she will die for good? Zombie bite? Suicide? Killed?

Will it be the end of Clementine?

  • Clem will live I tell you! LIVE!

Seriously I hope she does live through S3. Been through too damn much to have it all go to waste. If Telltale does decided to end her story in S3, it's gonna be really hard to say goodbye to such an amazing character.

  • If Season Three will be the last one then I think we'll have determinant ending or maybe even multiple endings again. ;) So I think if it'll be the end for the series then there is a chance that some people may have ending with Clementine dying and others with Clementine still alive.

It's just theory though but I think it'd be awesome.

  • When they finish with her she will likely be determinant based on our choices

  • I seriously hope she doesn't die.

  • Kirkman I believe has said that he will never include Clementine in the comics because he would like to keep them separate, so that's not going to happen. As for the question, I don't think she will die, I don't really have a reason why I think that, but I just can't see her dying. But if she does die, I would most definitely cry (I'm not afraid of amitting it), but the question is if I will cry harder over her death or Lee's?

  • I doubt it. I mean that would be like killing Lee 2.0

  • I still like her. Nodding guy from Old Spice commercial is better answer than "how the hell should I know".

  • if thats the case, lets hope its based on every major choice we've made in both seasons, thatd be cool tbh

  • non-cannon deaths maybe

  • I can actually see this happening!

If in S3 we get another protagonist, we meet up with clem and....... be one hell of way to tie up the s2 endings..

  • SWEETPEA will never die! sh- she... will.. never ever EVER d- die you hear me TELLTALE! she's n- nev- never gonna die... alright

    sobs slowly in corner

  • I really don't want this to happen to Clementine.

But then again, look at what they did to Sarah.

  • Same here. I was pretty much shaking when Arvo shot her.

Kirkman I believe has said that he will never include Clementine in the comics because he would like to keep them separate, so that's not go

  • It would be much worse IMO. I liked Lee, but like TT has said, even in Season 1 the game is really about Clementine. Of course it was sad (I definitely shed some tears at the end of season 1) but Lee's death just felt right. If Clementine dies I will be devastated.

  • Sarah is way different from Clementine. It's obviously not a matter of killing a child (see: Sarah and Duck). For me, Clementine IS The Walking Dead Game. I was sad when Sarah died, and I was definitely rooting for her. However, I got over it. It will be nearly impossible for me to get over Clementine's death.

  • I really hope not, I don't think I care for any fictional character as much as I do Clementine. I don't think I could bear to see her die.

  • I'm with you on that, I get mad as fuck when my friends give me shit about caring about Clementine so much, hell when I heard a complete stranger talk shit about Clem in EBGames I threw something at him and had a literal rage at him

I've had no trouble getting over any deaths in the game, it wouldnt honestly be that hard for me to get over Clementine considering that shes a pretty plain character now thats shes the playable character

If this game was based in reality then Clem would have been dead by now. With all her close calls with death and miraculously survived. Clem ought to be grateful this game isn't based off the Final Destination universe (not a bad franchise idea for a new TT game by the way) because she's already cheated death quite a bunch of times. Clem would have either been eaten by a horde or mauled to death by a starving dog, killed by hypothermia (froze to death) or died from blood loss from her bullet wound or died instantly from being shot so close to her heart or near a major artery (especially being still a small child) and without any medical treatment or doctor around to tend to her... hell she's starting to rival the terminator in body and spirit... miniature sized I guess.

But she's been the main character and the plot kind of revolves around her like Rick Grimes. But if R.Kirkman himself can admit that even Rick isn't exempt from death in his comics and Telltale has already shown they have the balls to kill the protagonist if need be as with Lee. Then I see the writers having no qualms about finishing off Clem if the opportunity arose and they were pretty much tired of making Walking Dead games and wanted to just wrap everything up in like a series finale. So if the finale of Season 3 is also the game series finale then yes I believe there is a great chance Clem could kick the bucket in season 3. NO matter how much folks might be in excessive/obsessive denial about a fictional pix-elated character... which is a tad disturbing to say the least.

If Clem does die I would feel neutral about it... maybe indifferent at the most. Because they had a great opportunity to really bring out her character and transformations she could experience in season 2 but now it seems like they waisted so many opportunities not only with Clementine but with just about every character like 400 Days folks, Cabin group, Howe's campers etc... (well all besides good ol Ken of course, maybe the majority of Telltale staff are rednecks with beards and staches with minority being urbans).lol but it seems she's no different coming out of season 2 as she was going into season 2. (Bland, boring, rather cold, and emotionless from episodes 1 to 5) which is understandable given the character experiences to this point but still leaves room for improvement.

Lee as a protagonist kind of had more flavor to his character and he's lost his whole family including his brother from the beginning as well and was kind of more exciting to play as than Clem even though Clem is still cool too somewhat.. Sometimes I wonder if they should had killed off Lee at the end of Season 2 which would had made it more devastating for Clem and audience as well as Clem would probably had been older with Lee and the two could of watched each others backs throughout season 2 then Clem would be on her own in season 3 as she sort of was in season 2.

  • It depends on the player. Often times if they fail to complete the QTE's or on screen prompts correctly, Clementine will suffer an untimely death.

Clementine is regarded as one of the best female protagonists in video game history. I can't believe so many want to throw all of that away. But I agree with @Ladariel that perhaps Lee was killed off too soon and should have lasted until the end of season 2 and then we'd play as Clem in season 3 and beyond. That being said, I liked playing as Clem in season 2 and please please please keep her as the PC.

  • He was just a better protagonist to me, Clementine was a better side character. IMO that worked so much better than Clementine as protagonist. Lee's death felt cheap and disappointing, i mean it was a obvious trap, and we had no choice but to press on.
